Peel Park and The Crescent
Peel Park gives main-campus students the shortest academic route. The library, New Adelphi, Maxwell Building, University House and the sports centre all occupy this part of Salford.
Peel Park Quarter stands on University Road within the campus grounds. Residents leave the property and reach teaching buildings in a few minutes. The residence also overlooks Peel Park, which provides riverside paths and green space beside the university.
The Crescent forms the principal road beside campus. Several bus services travel towards Manchester, Pendleton, MediaCity and neighbouring Salford districts. Salford Crescent station provides direct connections to Manchester Piccadilly, Manchester Victoria, Bolton, Preston and Manchester Airport.
A main-campus address removes most weekday transport. It also leaves Manchester city centre within a 25- to 30-minute walk or a much shorter bus or rail trip.
University of Salford Accommodation Peel Park

The provider shows contracts ending in June and August, which broadly correspond to 42- and 51-week agreements. Bills, Wi-Fi, furniture, contents insurance, security and access to shared facilities form part of the payment.
The residence has a gym, study rooms, cinema rooms, common areas, bicycle storage and laundry facilities. Students pay separately for laundry and any optional services.
Peel Park Quarter prioritises first-year undergraduate residents. Postgraduate students need to consider John Lester and Eddie Colman Courts or another private building.
Frederick Road and Seaford Road
Frederick Road gives healthcare, nursing and sport students their most practical location.
John Lester and Eddie Colman Courts stand beside the Frederick Road campus and are around 15 minutes from Peel Park. Tramways occupies Frederick Road itself, while iQ Student Quarter stands on Seaford Road.
The area includes Salford Shopping Centre, supermarkets, pharmacies and regular bus services. Salford Crescent station remains reachable on foot.
John Lester and Eddie Colman Courts currently display private rooms from £129 per week through House of Student. The building provides common rooms, study facilities, a gym, a cinema room, laundry facilities and shared kitchens. The provider includes energy costs, Wi-Fi, contents insurance and furniture in the rent.
Tramways lists en-suite rooms from £151 under a 50-week contract. Four or six students share each kitchen and lounge. Its current room table marks the available categories as sold out, so the £151 figure should serve as a price reference until the provider releases another room.
Frederick Road often gives better daily access than Peel Park Quarter for health students. Main-campus learners still gain a manageable walk.
Pendleton
Pendleton begins around Salford Shopping Centre and extends north of Frederick Road.
The district contains managed student residences, conventional flats and terraced houses. Local supermarkets reduce the need for grocery trips into Manchester.
John Lester and Eddie Colman Courts provide the largest student community in this part of Salford. Houses around Seaford Road, Romney Street and Haddon Street give smaller groups a more independent arrangement.
A Pendleton address generally keeps Frederick Road within 5 to 15 minutes on foot. Peel Park may take 15 to 25 minutes, depending on the street.
Check the evening route before committing to a house. Some residential streets become much quieter after shops close.
Lower Broughton
Lower Broughton lies north-east of Peel Park beside the River Irwell.
Traditional terraces and newer flats form much of the housing. Groups often choose the area when they want a complete house without paying Manchester city-centre rents.
The university route generally takes 20 to 35 minutes on foot. Local buses shorten the trip from streets farther north.
A five-bedroom house costs less per person only when the household splits bills fairly. Check the heating system, window condition, bathroom ratio and kitchen storage during the viewing.
Lower Broughton offers a quieter residential routine than Peel Park Quarter. It does not provide the same immediate access to the library, Students’ Union or Salford Crescent station.
Chapel Street and New Bailey
Chapel Street connects Peel Park with Manchester city centre.
Newer apartment buildings, cafés and restaurants have expanded along this corridor. Manchester’s Spinningfields district begins at the eastern end, while Salford Cathedral and the university occupy the western side.
A Chapel Street address puts both Salford and central Manchester within walking distance. The university route may take 10 to 25 minutes, according to the building.
Purpose-built student residences here usually charge more than John Lester or Tramways. Ordinary apartment contracts may also exclude bills and require a substantial deposit.
The location helps students with part-time work in Manchester, regular train travel or frequent city-centre plans. Peel Park Quarter remains cheaper than many premium apartments on the same corridor.
Salford Quays and MediaCity
MediaCity gives journalism, television and digital production students their shortest academic route.
The university building occupies the Orange Tower beside studios, offices, restaurants, tram stops and waterfront paths. Trams serve MediaCity and Harbour City, while the number 50 bus connects the Quays with Peel Park and Frederick Road.
True Manchester-Salford currently lists private en-suite rooms from £229 and studios from £248. Its available contracts include 40, 44 and 51 weeks, plus several shorter periods.
A 51-week private room at £229 costs £11,679. Peel Park Quarter’s Bronze room costs £7,119 over 42 weeks. The Quays room removes the bus trip to MediaCity, but its longer contract and higher weekly payment add £4,560 to the basic rent.
MediaCity students living at Peel Park or Frederick Road travel free on the number 50 bus during the university’s weekday eligibility period. The trip takes about 20 minutes from Peel Park under university guidance.
Quays accommodation earns its higher cost when the resident values a short route to media teaching, waterfront facilities and the tram network.
Ordsall
Ordsall lies between Salford Quays and Manchester city centre.
The area contains apartment developments, traditional housing and bus routes towards MediaCity, Trafford and central Manchester.
Ordsall can provide a middle point for someone whose timetable includes Peel Park and MediaCity. Neither campus will be immediately outside the property, so the exact bus stop matters.
Check the walking route to Trafford Road or the nearest tram connection. A low rent loses much of its benefit when every teaching day requires multiple changes.
Manchester City Centre
Some Salford students choose Manchester for its employment, nightlife, shopping and transport.
A city-centre home creates a longer route than Peel Park, but many buildings remain within 20 to 40 minutes by foot, bus or train. Salford Crescent connects with Manchester Piccadilly and Victoria, while buses follow Chapel Street and The Crescent.
Riverside House currently displays private rooms from £205. Manchester Student Village begins at £158, although the route and room availability need checking against the University of Salford campus page.
Manchester rents often exceed Salford prices. The city address should save enough time on work, travel, or social plans to justify the added academic commute.
