Choosing student accommodation usually comes down to a few things that matter once you actually move in. How far will you need to travel for lectures? Are the main bills already covered? Will you have enough privacy to get through your coursework, while still having somewhere to meet people when you want a break?
Student Castle Reading Student Accommodation brings these practical considerations together in a central Reading location. The property offers fully furnished studios with private kitchens, en-suite bathrooms and study areas, so students can manage most of their daily routine within their own space.
Its location on East Street also puts students close to shops, supermarkets, bus stops and several university campuses. For students who prefer having their own studio but still want access to shared spaces within their accommodation, Student Castle Reading offers a useful middle ground.
Student Castle Reading Accommodation is a purpose-built residence made up of self-contained studios. Each studio has its own kitchen, bathroom and study area, giving residents a degree of independence that may appeal to students who don't want to share these facilities with flatmates.
The accommodation also has several shared areas around the building. Students can use the study rooms when they need somewhere separate from their studio to work, while the cinema room and common room offer places to take a break or spend time with other residents. A communal terrace adds an outdoor space where students can sit and unwind.
The setup works particularly well for students who like having their own routine. You can prepare food in your own kitchen, study at your own desk and return to a private room at the end of the day, while the communal areas remain available whenever you want a change of setting.
Address: East Street, Reading RG1 4ET, United Kingdom
The central position of Student Castle Reading means that many regular errands can be handled without travelling across town. Sainsbury's is nearby for groceries, while destinations such as The Oracle Centre, Broad Street Mall and Forbury Retail Park give students plenty of choice when they need to shop or spend some time away from campus.
The surrounding area also has several bus stops, including London Street and Crown Street. These are useful for students travelling towards university campuses or other parts of Reading, particularly when walking is not practical.
Living centrally means your routine does not have to revolve entirely around the university campus. You can head out for groceries after a lecture, meet friends in town or make a quick trip to the shops without setting aside a large part of the day for travel.
The Oracle Centre is one of the main shopping destinations nearby, while Broad Street Mall and Harris Arcade provide further options for everyday shopping and browsing. Forbury Retail Park is another useful destination when you need to pick up household items or other essentials.
The central location is also useful during busy periods of the academic year. Students can move between accommodation, university buildings and the town centre without having to depend on long journeys for every part of their day.
Accommodation priorities can change from one student to another. Some may want a private studio, while others are more concerned about keeping their monthly expenses predictable. Having study facilities within the building can also be useful when coursework starts taking up more of the week.
Some of the main reasons to consider Student Castle Reading Student Accommodation include:
Fully furnished studios with a private kitchen, en-suite bathroom and study area.
Electricity, gas, water, Wi-Fi and contents insurance included within the rent.
Dedicated study rooms for coursework, revision and independent work.
Cinema room and common room for spending time away from your studio.
Communal terrace offering an additional shared space.
Secure bike storage for students who cycle around Reading.
On-site security, CCTV and secure door entry.
Central location close to shops, bus stops and university campuses.
Having these facilities within the same building can make the transition into independent living a little easier. Students don't have to arrange separate utility accounts, while the study and communal areas provide alternatives to spending every hour inside their studio.
Student Castle Reading Accommodation offers several studio categories, with prices increasing according to the room type and additional features available. Since every option is self-contained, the main difference for students is the amount they're prepared to spend on their private living space and whether they want access to a terrace.

Having these costs included means students do not need to arrange separate accounts for the main utilities after moving in. It also makes it easier to work out the actual accommodation cost when comparing different options in Reading.
A private studio takes care of the basics, but student accommodation also needs to work beyond the bedroom. Study spaces, communal areas and practical facilities can all become part of a student's routine during the academic year.
Student Castle Reading has a selection of shared facilities that cover these different needs.
Students have access to:
Study rooms
These provide another place to work when you want a quieter setting away from your studio, particularly during revision periods or when deadlines are approaching.
The communal facilities include:
Cinema room
Common room
Communal terrace
The cinema room and common room give residents somewhere to spend time with other students, while the terrace offers an outdoor area for a change of scenery.
Students also have access to:
Secure bike storage
This is useful for residents who cycle around Reading for university, shopping or other regular journeys.
The property includes:
On-site security
CCTV monitoring
Secure door entry
These measures add an extra layer of security around the building, while secure entry helps ensure that access to the residence remains restricted to residents and authorised visitors.

Student Castle Reading Student Accommodation is particularly suited to students who prefer having their own space rather than sharing a bedroom or kitchen. The studio setup means you can cook, study and relax without having to coordinate your routine around flatmates.
That independence does not mean living entirely separately from other students. The common room and cinema room provide places to meet residents, while the study rooms give you another setting for coursework when you want to work somewhere other than your studio. The communal terrace is also useful when you want some fresh air without leaving the building.
Every room is self-contained, with its own kitchen, en-suite bathroom and study area. This suits students who value privacy or simply prefer having control over their daily routine.
Electricity, gas, water, Wi-Fi and contents insurance are included in the rent. With these costs already covered, students can work out their accommodation budget without adding separate utility payments each month.
The dedicated study rooms provide an alternative to working from your bedroom. This can be especially useful during exam periods or when several deadlines fall within the same week.
The private studios give residents their own space, while the common room, cinema room and communal terrace create opportunities to meet other students. You can therefore choose between keeping to yourself and spending time with other residents depending on the day.
The property is on East Street, close to shops, bus stops and several university destinations. Students can reach many everyday services without travelling far, while local buses provide connections to campuses and areas further from the centre.
Student Castle Reading offers students the privacy of a self-contained studio alongside shared facilities that make the residence feel less isolated. Private kitchens, en-suite bathrooms and study areas give residents control over their own routine, while study rooms, the common room, cinema room and communal terrace provide alternatives when they want to work or spend time with others.
Its central East Street location is another practical advantage. Shops, supermarkets, bus stops and several university campuses are all within reach, making it easier to fit everyday errands around lectures and coursework.

I’ve been living at New Century Place for the past academic year, and I must say it has been an incredible experience. The accommodation is exceptionally cozy, making it feel like a home away from home. From the moment I moved in, Harry and Claire, who are part of the amazing staff here, have been incredibly supportive and friendly. They always go above and beyond to help out, whether it’s a small query or a larger issue. Their dedication to ensuring residents are comfortable is truly commendable. One of the standout features of New Century Place is the vibrant community atmosphere. The staff regularly organize cool events that make living here enjoyable and foster a sense of community. They are particularly attentive to cultural diversity and do an excellent job of celebrating various festivals. The Chinese New Year celebrations this year were spectacular, with beautiful decorations, traditional activities, and delicious food. It was a wonderful way to connect with fellow residents and celebrate our diverse backgrounds. Additionally, the accommodation offers excellent facilities, including good car parking in the basement. As someone who drives, having a secure and convenient parking space has been a huge plus. The parking area is well-maintained and easily accessible, adding to the overall convenience of living here. I also want to extend a special thanks to Matt, the maintenance manager, who has been a lifesaver. Whenever something broke in my room, Matt was quick to respond and repair it efficiently. His promptness and professionalism ensured that I never had to worry about maintenance issues for long. Overall, New Century Place is a fantastic student accommodation with a warm and welcoming environment, great facilities, and a dedicated team. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable place to live while studying.

It's a delightful time to live here in this accommodation since the last September. The building is quite new and fresh, a bunch of facilities such as fitness studio, party kitchen and cinema are amazing. It's a pity that the year 2020 is the pandemic year and I don't have so many chances to socialize with friends here, hopefully, it will be better for the vaccine is ready. Though it is tough during this time, the kind administrative teams, a handsome tall mate and a caring young lady as well as a lady for room maintenance, helped me a lot, they are super nice person. Overall a good place to stay in the UK.
