As a first year, crown place was mine and my friends first choice for accommodation, we were very fortunate to both get it and therefore contacted them requesting for me and my friends to be in the same flat- fortunately they put us together! Although this isn’t guaranteed it shows how helpful and accommodating the staff are. Speaking of the staff they are all super friendly and helpful at all times. The building itself is great, my room is very lovely and our kitchen is large (flat of 6 people) there is even a tv in the living room which is great. I have the standard room and it’s the perfect size for me and there is plenty of storage. I do recommend buying some plastic storage drawers for the wardrobe to keep underwear and smaller stuff in to really maximise the space (i just picked up a cheap one from Argos). The bathrooms are a great size especially compared to some of the mini bathrooms and wet rooms other accommodations have, the shower is big and easy to shave your legs in and there’s loads of storage to put all your toiletries and skincare in. There is great facilities inside crown place such as; a games area with a pool and air hockey table, a karaoke room and cinema room which are all really simple to book at reception. The gym is simple but has enough for a full gym routine and a large studio at the back for dance/yoga/pilates. The laundry room is big and easy operate. The WiFi is good from everywhere within the accommodation and there is loads of places to sit on the ground floor and on the underground floor to study or hangout. The location of crown place is amazing for NUA students (the buses are like a 2 minute walk away for UEA students). Only a maximum 15 minute walk to uni, there is a Sainsbury’s about 6 minutes away- although i do recommend buying a granny trolley and walking to Morrisons 20 minutes away as its cheaper. Overall i have really enjoyed living here and so has my friend, therefore we are both going to continue living here for year 2 along with our friends from the all saints green accommodation (which is opposite crown place). Application process is simple and the staff are always happy to answer questions or offer assistance. I would 100% recommend crown place to everyone coming to study in Norwich. Feedback: During the first week of uni there was a small incident which caused floor 3 to flood due to people smoking in their rooms, unfortunately people smoking cigs in there rooms seems to happen a lot and i feel they could be stricter about this because it smells so bad. Also since the flood the carpets in the hallways stink of damp- luckily the smell is NOT in our flats but it’s still not pleasant to walk through. In general the carpets around the building (corridors, bin store and by the lifts) are all pretty grim and could do with a change. I think its also good to be aware that there are flats beside the gym and next to the bin store.

I’ve been at Crown Place since last year, and I wanted to share my actual experience living here. 1. Events & Facilities: There are loads of events going on that feel really inclusive, like festivals for different nationalities, baking sessions, and movie nights. The facilities are great, there’s a gaming room, pool tables, and a shared kitchen where I usually host hotpot with my friends. It's a nice space for socialising. 2. Staff & Safety It’s a very safe place to live, and having 24/7 staff is a big plus. The daytime reception and maintenance teams are honestly the best. Whenever there’s an issue, they sort it out quickly and properly. A huge shout-out to Lisa, Issy, and Garry they’re superb!!! and have made my time here so much better. However, I’ll be honest: some of the night staff could be a bit nicer, especially towards international students. I try to be understanding since they seem to be there mainly for security rather than solving general issues, but if you need something important, the daytime staff are definitely the ones to talk to. 3. The Room & Maintenance The rooms are very nice and have everything you need. Of course, it’s a bit of a luck of the draw whether you get a perfect flatmates or not, but when something does go wrong, the staff take it seriously and act fast. And a very big thing for me, silverfish!! they can be a common issue in Norwich, and I’m personally terrified of them! Knowing that the staff take action immediately to get rid of them really puts my mind at ease. It’s a relief to know someone is there to help with that. 4. The System & Parcels The online system they use is very handy and organised - paying rent or reporting maintenance is really straightforward. The mailing system is also a win; parcels go straight to reception and you get a notification, so you don't have to worry about being home to sign for anything. 5. Study Areas & Gym The study areas are lovely, but I really wish all of them were open 24/7 during assignment or exam periods, some of us want to pull an all-nighter but don't want to be stuck in our rooms. The gym is a decent size and the dance studio is great for dancing or doing your own workouts. My only real complaint is that it could be cleaned more often; it does get a bit dusty. Overall, it’s a great place to live. The location is perfect! loads of shops nearby and it’s right by the bus stop. Choosing the right accommodation is so important for us as uni students. I’ve lived in a shared house before and spent way too much time stressing about bills and broken appliances. Living here is a much better option; it’s stress-free and definitely worth the money! P.S. the view from the top floor is also super nice!

As someone who’s lived in crown for my entire uni experience, I’d recommend them to anyone who asks advice for moving to Norwich for uni. The staff are absolutely lovely, and it’s great having such kind staff who are always happy to chat, and help with any issues that happen. Which helps immensely with receiving parcels knowing they’re left in safe hands in reception. There’s a great selection of commodities in the building, with the pool, table tennis & air hockey tables being my personal favourites- alongside having a private gym with easy access. The rooms themselves are really nice for the price as well, i’ve lived in two different rooms and they’ve both been really well designed and well kept, including both the kitchen and en suite areas. But also, it’s in a fantastic city location, with close access to smaller stores and larger supermarkets like sainsbury’s and m&s. With close access to NUA buildings, and right near the bus stops for the UEA buses, it’s in such a convenient place in the city. If given the opportunity, definitely look into having your uni home experience be at Crown Place.

Crown place is an amazing accodation with a great range of facilities. Including a gym,a pool table, air hocky and ping pong. The staff are extremely friendly and will help you out when needed. Moving away from home can be such a struggle so knowing theres such friendly staff and a room I can call my own(and have independency,) has made the transition from home life to here a breeze. I 100% reccommend this acommodation as it has pretty much changed my life
