About this property
Students who want to stay close to the University of Manchester without living in a high-rise building often end up looking at Heald Court Manchester. The property has a quieter setting than many city-centre residences, with shared flats arranged around landscaped outdoor spaces instead of tall residential blocks.
Heald Court Manchester accommodation includes en-suite rooms in shared apartments, so you get your own bathroom while still sharing a kitchen and lounge with flatmates. That balance works well for students who enjoy having people around without giving up their own space.
If you've been reading Heald Court Manchester reviews, you'll notice that the peaceful surroundings, location and smaller community are mentioned regularly. Those are the reasons many students return here after their first year instead of moving elsewhere.
Address:
Student Castle Heald Court
6 Heald Grove
Manchester M14 4PE
United Kingdom
The official Heald Court address places you in Rusholme, one of Manchester's best-known student neighbourhoods. The University of Manchester is around a 15-minute walk away, while Manchester Metropolitan University and the Royal Northern College of Music can be reached by bus within a short time.
Some students also search for the distance from train station to Heald Court before moving in. If you're travelling through Manchester, Manchester Piccadilly Station is the closest major railway station and can be reached by bus, taxi or bicycle. People occasionally search for the distance from Earlstown train station to Heald Court, although Earlestown is outside Manchester and is not the station most residents use.
The layout immediately feels different from many student buildings in Manchester. Instead of long corridors and tower blocks, Heald Court has smaller residential buildings with green outdoor spaces between them. The atmosphere stays quieter while still giving you plenty of chances to get to know your neighbours.
The University of Manchester is close enough for many residents to walk every day. Manchester Metropolitan University, the Royal Northern College of Music and the city centre are all easy to reach using nearby bus routes.
Every bedroom includes an en-suite bathroom, while the kitchen and lounge are shared with three or five other residents. This setup gives everyone their own private space without losing the social side of shared accommodation.
Rent already includes utilities, high-speed Wi-Fi and contents insurance, so there are no separate household bills waiting after move-in.
Bike storage, laundry facilities, CCTV, secure entry and on-site management are already available throughout the property. Those practical features matter much more during the year than extras you might only use once or twice.
Students comparing Heald Court Manchester accommodation with larger developments often choose it because it feels quieter without losing the convenience of being close to campus.
Heald Court Manchester accommodation keeps the room choice simple. Both options include a private en-suite bathroom, while the kitchen and lounge are shared with flatmates. The main difference is the number of people you live with, so you can decide whether you prefer a smaller shared flat or a larger student household.

Spent two years living at Heald Court, the property is nice and well kept. The location is central enough to walk into the city centre without being two noisy or crowded. The staff at Heald Court are lovely (in my experience), they will answer any query as quickly and as well as possible and the maintenance performed on the people is absolutely incredible! Top notch place to stay, especially for students who don't know the area that well and want to make some new friends.

Spacious room and kitchen. The staff are very helpful and friendly, especially at the beginning of the year when moving in. Always quick to answer phone calls and emails. I have rebooked for next year and I even recommended the accommodation to a friend that booked a room after seeing the place.

My name is Sophie Barker, I'm 18 years old and this is currently my first year as a student, so finding the right accommodation for me had been crucial (especially as someone who is very particular about things) so I can feel comfortable, safe and supported when making the transition to a new city and the beginning of my life. Heald court (Homes for students) have provided exactly that. As a result not only have I decided to live here for my first year but I have successfully rebooked my room for next year too! This is because of a various reasons, to name a few would be; The staff are so kind, approachable and friendly and have gone above and beyond in helping me settle in and always answering any questions that I had in the beginning- I specifically want to mention Michael and Tanisha who gave me a massive warm welcome when I first moved in and always bring biggest smiles and are full of conversation and laughs - which is exactly what is you need and is comforting when you have just moved out away to a new city! The accommodation itself is spacious, modern and great quality! - the facilities included with the accommodation is also a massive positive (e.g. A washing machine as apart of your kitchen). Reasonable pricing for the room, kitchen and it's provided facilities (plus - all inclusive bills :) !) Not only that but the staff are always there to help quickly and efficiently whenever you need something replacing or repairing. And not to mention the fact that the area Heald court is situated in is absolutely perfect (across from it is an abundance of shops and is also very close to the hospital, chemist, doctors, pubs, restaurants and whitworth park! - all of which are directly on Oxford road which is the centre road that leads straight into the city centre, so I have been able to Drama School/University with ease!) These are only a few reasons to why I have rebooked with them but also the reasons why I truly feel I have now found a home in Heald Court!! ~Sophie Barker 😁

wifi sucks Didn’t return my deposit even though I’ve moved out for more than 14 days alr The renovation is all around the neighbourhood as left right front back of the property There are rats in the garage even can see them jumping ard in the day lol And the property is damn old, the door bangs loudly and uncontrollably even when u try to close it gently The lighting is really dim and even if u ask them to change it for you, you will still get back the same brightness kinda lighting Oh, and the bed is damn old, uncomfortable and disgusting Their staff changed the lightbulb by stepping on the bed with shoes on Wish whoever’s gonna stay in the flat goooood luck for the next sem…. Lousy flat. Not even convenient at all, the neighbourhood sucks too… full of uneducated ppl and you will feel like staying in slum. Lots of chatty and loud people talking at night, disgusting property and neighbourhood. Don’t choose this place if u want a normal and peaceful life. And the reception is in a really really out-of-way place. U need to walk past really really long and appeared-to-be-unsafe place to collect your parcel… 😅 good luck new tenants. Have fun. I’m so disappointed
