About this property
Your accommodation quietly becomes part of your routine: you leave for lectures from there, cook most of your meals there, spend evenings finishing assignments, and head back after long days on campus. That makes the location just as important as the room itself.
Bright House Kingston is in Kingston upon Thames, close to Kingston University, local bus routes, supermarkets and the town centre. Every room comes with a private en-suite bathroom, while kitchens are shared with other residents. Utility bills and Wi-Fi are already included, so there isn't much to organise after you move in.

Most students end up using the same places every week, whether that's the supermarket before heading home, a café between lectures or the train station for weekend trips. Bright House student accommodation Kingston upon Thames keeps those places nearby. Kingston Railway Station, bus stops, shops, restaurants and the riverside are all within walking distance, so travelling across town rarely becomes part of your daily routine.
Every accommodation promises comfortable rooms. What usually makes the difference is how practical it feels after you've settled in. Bright House Kingston covers the things most students use every day instead of focusing on extras that rarely get touched.
Kingston University and Kingston College are both nearby.
Every room includes a private en-suite bathroom.
Shared kitchens give everyone enough space to cook without staying inside their rooms all evening.
Electricity, gas, heating, water, Wi-Fi and contents insurance are already included in the rent.
CCTV, secure entry and an on-site management team help keep the building running smoothly.
250 Mbps Wi-Fi supports online classes, coursework and streaming.
There are only two room types at Bright House Kingston, so choosing between them is fairly straightforward. Both include a private bathroom, study desk, storage and shared kitchen access.

Groceries, transport, laundry and personal expenses still sit outside your rent, but the regular household bills are already taken care of.
Most residents end up using the same facilities throughout the week. The kitchen gets busy around dinner time, the lounge becomes somewhere to catch up with flatmates, and the laundry room usually turns into part of the weekend routine.

If you're considering staying here, don’t. This has been one of the most stressful and disappointing experiences of my uni life. What was meant to be my safe and comfortable "home" has turned into a place that genuinely drains me and honestly exhausting to come back “home” and feel more stressed than I do at uni. There’s no visible management. No one responsible. No one to speak to. You're basically left to figure everything out yourself. Bin rooms are overflowing, rubbish isn’t collected for days, weeks and months. Now in summer, the place is swarming with flies, insects, and a constant stench. It's disgusting and unhygienic. Security? Barely any. Only the main entrance and our individual room doors have locks, that’s it. In an emergency, there is literally no one to contact. No one replies. No one shows up. So if something goes wrong, good luck, because you’re on your own. I’ve spent so much time fixing issues myself because no one else will. Honestly, for the amount of rent we’re paying, this is a joke. It’s not just poor value, it feels like neglect. I’ve stayed in budget places that treated tenants with more care than this supposedly “professional” student housing. It’s shameful.

It's a fun place to live in. Pizza parties and movie nights. I like it because the management keeps the place clean and you have so much privacy with private room and bathroom. But at the same time you can connect with your flatmates in communal kitchen. Our manager (Sharon) is really helpful, sweet and kind with everything.

Extremely overpriced. Only here as it was last minute. Windows allow a lot of draft and noise. Shower is very small. Door is a plank of wood with a huge gap at the bottom “ for fire safety”. I guess privacy is not important! What happened to the big, heavy, fireproof, and secure safety doors?? Desk chairs are huge and dirty, ripped and do not even fit under the desk. Why not buy a suitable chair?? Kitchen has no working oven for over a year. Key card replacement or spares are £50!!! It is very overpriced here. Everywhere including accommodations and school, key cards were £10. I don’t know who these people think they are. The highest prices and worst facilities I have had to pay and live with. My flatmates are miserable since they moved in as it is so poor here, it is not a nice place to stay. Management is slow and he thinks he can talk to EVERYONE however he wants too!! He also barges into your room if you are not in. This is illegal, especially if you are a female. A male is not allowed to enter your room or be with you privately without a female accompanying him. It is disgusting and makes me feel very unsafe. UPDATE: no running water AGAIN!!! This has happened at least twice already and within 4 months. No water flow within the entire building at all!!! Also, front door fob doesn’t work and we have been told to wait until the next working day. Front door lock is still broken!!! A public accommodation now!!! This is ridiculous and dangerous as men and strangers have been welcoming themselves into the corridors and into peoples rooms. This is what happens when the front door is unlocked, safety regulations are limited, no security or staff on site or even employed, no reception downstairs, no parcel area, no clear instructions for any one. Absolutely rubbish.

This is my second year staying at Bright House, as I was really happy with my stay last year. However, while I love the location and nice rooms, I must say this year the management of this accommodation is all over the place. The office is open only from 9 am to 1 pm now (clashes with my uni schedule), sometimes there’s not even anyone at that time, and I’m not able to reach any of the staff when I need help for my issues. I’ve been in my new room for 2 months now and while I’ve been complaining every week about my leaking shower, the problem is still not fixed - the maintenance guy comes after two weeks and does the same thing that clearly hasn’t helped fix the problem. He just came the other day and the problem is still here. Not to mention, they didn’t disclose with me before I signed the contract, that there will be construction work happening right outside of my window and it will be for 10 hours straight during the day, with insanely loud noise which disrupts my studying and being able to relax in my own room. I believe I should have been made aware of the fact it will be so loud, even if it’s not Bright House’s fault there’s ongoing construction work next to them. When I asked to be moved to another room they completely disregarded my request and while acting nice they just apologized and told me they’ll give me access to go study in another one of their buildings in Kingston. Speaks volumes about how they don’t really care. Very disappointed of the management this year. Nevertheless, great rooms and location - close to town and university campuses, weekly cleaning of the kitchen and occasionally some free drinks and noodles.
guess who
Can't rate 0 starts, so I guess 1 would be generous enough. The upkeep of the building is poorly maintained. In a span of under 5 months, the water supply has gone out twice. When the helpline is called, and asked when the estimated fix will be, the person's reply was "I don't know, I'm not a plumber. Recently, the main entrance fob scanners have suddenly stopped working which leaves the tenant locked out and was told to let a tenant in the building know if you're going out so someone can let you back in. Waiting times for being locked out of your room is also horrendous leaving tenants waiting for about 15 hours for someone to tap a keycard. There is no 24 hour on-site staff for such emergencies. There is also a lack of washers and fully functioning dryers. The only bright about bright house is the location.
