Many destinations in central Brighton can also be reached on foot. The beach, shopping streets, cafés and university buildings are all within a reasonable walking distance, reducing the need for daily public transport.
Students often approach accommodation with different priorities. Some want a quieter place where they can concentrate on coursework without sharing kitchens or bathrooms. Others care more about being close to lectures, having somewhere to exercise after class or living within walking distance of cafés, supermarkets and the seafront. Crown House manages to cover all of those without relying on unnecessary extras.
Every room is a private studio, so residents have their own kitchen facilities, bathroom and study area instead of sharing with multiple flatmates. That layout particularly suits postgraduate students, international students and anyone who prefers more independence during the academic year. At the same time, the property doesn't feel isolated. Shared study rooms, a cinema room, games room and private dining area give residents opportunities to meet neighbours whenever they choose rather than because they have to share living facilities.
The location is another reason students consider Crown House Brighton student accommodation. Walking to BIMM Brighton or the University of Brighton's Grand Parade Campus takes only a short time, while buses provide direct connections to the Falmer, Moulsecoomb and Sussex campuses. Daily shopping, cafés, restaurants and the beach all fit naturally into the routine of living here, making it possible to spend less time travelling across the city.
Students searching online for Crown House Brighton reviews are usually comparing more than room sizes. They're looking at location, what's included in the rent, the facilities available on-site and how practical the accommodation will be throughout the year. Crown House combines those essentials in one central address, making it a strong option for students who want private accommodation without moving away from the centre of Brighton.
Accommodation becomes part of your routine long after the excitement of moving in has passed. Being able to walk to lectures, pick up groceries on the way home, use an on-site gym before class or spend an evening at the seafront all influence day-to-day student life far more than headline features on a brochure.
Located at Crown House 21 Upper North Street Brighton, the property offers a combination of private studio living, inclusive utility bills, study facilities and communal spaces in one of the city's most accessible neighbourhoods. Whether you're joining BIMM Brighton, the University of Brighton or the University of Sussex, Crown House Brighton provides accommodation that supports both university life and everything that happens outside the classroom.

PLEASE READ I honestly would not recommend living here. There are constant fire alarms and it happens so often that it seriously affects residents’ sleep and wellbeing. Being woken up in the middle of the night repeatedly is exhausting, especially when you have university work, deadlines, and exams to focus on. The alarm is extremely loud and often leaves me with headaches and ear pain afterwards. The WiFi is also very poor and unreliable. It is difficult to complete university work or attend online meetings because the connection constantly cuts out. When I raised the issue, I was told to contact the WiFi provider myself, even though this should really be the accommodation management’s responsibility to help resolve. During winter, the accommodation is far too cold. The heating does not stay on for more than around 10 minutes, and cold air comes through the windows, making the rooms uncomfortable to live in. Another issue is the management and reception service. Some staff members are rude and unhelpful, and despite reception supposedly being open from 9am to 5pm, there were many times I went to collect parcels during working hours and nobody was there. Overall, the accommodation does not provide the level of comfort or support students should expect, especially considering the amount of money being

Honest review, there are some bumps along the way but it definitely worth five-star as a newly opened accommodation. Staff are friendly and helpful, but some residents do not follow house rules (e.g. smoke in room, not turning on extractor) which led to constant fire alarm triggers especially in the first few months. The alarm is super loud and it usually takes 20min for security to arrive and deactivate it. The lift was also out of service fairly frequently and could take days to be fixed. However, other than that there really can be no complaint. The central location is super convenient and the view is lovely on higher floors. Since we’re the first residents, there was no kitchenware but I suppose future residents can use what is left by predecessors. The studio is well-equipped, and there is a gym, laundry room (pay per use) plus spacious common areas on g/f and b/f. There were issues with packages being stolen in the beginning, but a system was in place swiftly to ensure secure pick-ups. Access card is needed to enter the building so it’s a very secure building, the neighborhood also feels safe even in late night. Overall, it’s a very nice place to stay at and it’s worth the price if you also compare with other private student accommodation in town. This is the first year of their operation and there are trials and errors, but the staff and management are definitely trying and things do get improved as we go into the academic year.

I've lived here for a while now and I can not help but complain. For the price you're paying you're not really getting everything you should. For the large amount of students here, there are only 3 washers and dryers shared between the whole place. Unless you're unemployed and up late it's difficult to impossible to get a slot here. Also, It seems every few weeks you'll have a fire alarm go off at 2-4am really disturbing sleep, and in addition nothing seems to be done about people smoking weed in their room as I can always smell it going past the same doors and they are likely the culprits. As well a lot of things here break and there's only 1 lounge with 1 pool table which always has residents break cues and is typically the same group of over unemployed people playing pool there so it's almost impossible to utilise the space when you wants too. It seems the amenities here (which are heavy in part of your cost) are just not big enough for the volume of students residing here. I'd recommend it for its rooms which are nice and fairly spacious depending on the type of room you get and the centrality of it is another huge bonus but other than these things there's not much more good too it . The staff are nice and I have no issues with them and there's a great security guard here but make your own mind up with other reviews. Ps The washing machines charge £4.50 a wash and dryers 2.65 for a drying cycle, it's ridiculous..

Super friendly staff have made my transition from living at home to living alone so comfortable and fun. Maintenance requests are dealt with super fast and I always know who I can go to for help if I need it. I feel incredibly safe and supported here, thank you :]
