We’ve had a very disappointing experience with Student Cribs, mainly due to their extremely poor response and action times when it comes to maintenance and urgent issues. The most concerning incident was being left without water for four days, during which there was little to no meaningful communication from the company. We were not given clear updates, timelines, or reassurance, which made an already stressful situation far worse. Being without water is a basic habitability issue, and the lack of urgency shown was unacceptable. This lack of responsiveness seems to be a wider pattern. Several maintenance problems raised months ago have still not been properly addressed, despite repeated follow-ups. Issues that directly impact health and safety have been handled slowly or temporarily patched rather than properly fixed. Overall, there appears to be a significant gap between what is promised and what is delivered in terms of maintenance and tenant support. As students, we rely on a safe and well-maintained living environment, and unfortunately, that has not been our experience. I would strongly advise future tenants to carefully consider this before signing, particularly if prompt maintenance and clear communication are important to you. We lived in Jesmond view, the flat is nice to be fair but beyond that there genuinely is zero positives.

We have absolutely loved living here. Whenever we have had any issues they would be sorted within the hour or on the same day. Mike H has been so kind to us and always reassures us if there’s anything wrong, we are so lucky to have him! Would highly recommend anyone to go with Student Cribs, it’s been a pleasure. Update: The morning after leaving this review i received a call from StudentCribs asking to speak about the review, considering I didn't leave a number it is a bit odd. This is also uncharacteristically quick response from student cribs as I have waited days for responses to emails, guess it's different when their public reputation is at stake. The caller herself was kind enough but went through each point in my review and dismissed my complaints, chalking them up to system errors. I'd accept that for one instance but each of these points has happened multiple times, they have had time and warnings to fix the errors but have not. She also assured me there would be internal review and these issues would not happen again, despite this i've received no email follow up and have actually had another man in our flat unannounced with no email, no information on the portal and none of us even asking for the repair he was here for. He had a key and let himself in despite not being a StudentCribs employee and instead being outsourced by them. This is illegal and a threat to our safety. Review: A terribly run company that constantly made mistakes leaving us to deal with the many consequences. Rented with them in Cardiff and I cannot recommend the experience less. In the interest of keeping it brief here are the main issues: 1. No warning when visits to the flat will occur. I have personally woken up to three men in the flat doing work without any prior warnings. This has happened countless times. The contractors themselves are even told we will know about them. This is deceptive and wrong, we do not feel safe in the flat because anyone could walk in at anytime. This is in blatant breaking of the housing act of 1988 which states we should have 24 hours notice as well as give permission for people to enter the property. 2. Delays in getting work done. Our flat flooded and it took a long time before a maintenance worker was sent to even just look at the damage. Nothing was then done about the damage for a further month and then the minimum amount was done to fix the damage. 3. For four months in a row we were harassed for "not paying" rent. we had. we each received emails to us and then to our guarantors. The worst of it was when we would be called about the issue by a man named Raymond. from what we can tell he is the head of the finance team and he is belittling, rude and disrespectful. Frankly he should not be speaking to customers with his complete lack of understanding and respect. I have had to speak to him multiple times to sort out the rent issue despite everyone in our flat paying on time each month. This seems to have been an issue for EVERYONE IN CARDIFF who rented with student cribs. (Since the update I have been told this is because paying through the portal takes longer to process than direct debits. How this means we should get called and harassed about not paying i'm not sure) 4. communication within the company is lacking majorly. We had a flatmate swap tenancy to another person and Student Cribs completely failed to understand that. We were emailed multiple times for documentation that had been provided and asked for a document that didn't exist. This lead to the aforementioned Raymond phoning me and being again rude and demanding despite my explaining I was not the flatmate in question and couldn't help. We had emailed the documents we had to him directly before so we had all the information we had but refused to acknowledge that. He then threatened us with eviction and refused to elaborate, ending the call when I asked follow up questions. This isn't even all that we have had to deal with in the 10 month tenancy we have had with Student Cribs. I implore everyone to look elsewhere for flats and avoid this company like the plague. I wish I could give 0 stars but since I can't the 1 star is the for maintenance man who is always kind and professional when he shows up. His work is always done well and he has gone above and beyond for us. Shout out to him.

DO NOT RENT WITH STUDENT CRIBS. We currently live in a student house in Portsmouth and the service we have been provided with is appalling and frankly unacceptable. The managers within the Portsmouth team are rude, dismissive and near impossible to get in contact with. During communication with them it has been alluded that we are lying about the issues and they’ve already been resolved. We have experienced structural issues involving mould and leakages from rain and showers. Our oven was broken for 4 months. We have not had properly functioning WiFi since we moved in. Contractors let themselves into and out of our house without notice and are often rude and dismissive of our complaints. However, building on from a previous point the management is where the problem truly lies. Emails and phone calls are ignored and nothing is fixed. I have spoken to one property manager twice and the other I have never heard from or spoken to. We often have to speak to other offices before we can even get through to the Portsmouth team. Living here has caused copious amounts of stress which I would not recommend to any student.

Hi, do not use this service, been with them the last few months had multiple things broken in the flat on arrival, the kitchen door handle broke (which is also a fire door) and even though they are aware of this they haven't fixed it in weeks. Tons of little things broken in the apartment freezer kitchen cabinets etc. no windows open on the front side of the flat which leaves two people in my flat with only vents to air their rooms out. Finally they do not have any secure locations to leave mail/post, I have had 4 hello fresh boxes stolen as well as expensive prescription medication, on top of that, they refused to help me by investigating the cctv, what is the point of having cctv if when things are stolen directly in its sight it's not used. All in all for the prices they're charging they have been treating us disgracefully and I warn you not to use this company as they do not care about looking after their tenants in the slightest.
