About this property
Finding student accommodation in Sheffield isn't just about being close to campus. It also means choosing somewhere that fits into your day-to-day routine, whether that's getting to lectures on time, finding a quiet place to study, or having cafés, supermarkets, and public transport within easy reach. Electric Press brings those essentials together in a central location, making it a practical choice for students who want to stay connected to both university life and the city itself.
Located at the edge of the popular Kelham Island area, Electric Press Sheffield offers a mix of en-suite rooms and studio accommodation alongside a range of shared facilities. With universities, transport links and everyday amenities all close by, the property provides a comfortable base for students throughout the academic year.
Electric Press has been developed to support different styles of student living. Some residents prefer the social atmosphere of shared apartments with private en-suite bedrooms, while others choose a self-contained studio for greater independence. Having both options available means the accommodation appeals to a wide range of students, regardless of their lifestyle or budget.
Life here extends beyond your room. The property includes communal spaces where residents can relax, meet friends or unwind after lectures, creating a community environment without compromising personal space. For students looking for prestigious student living in Electric Press, the residence combines practical facilities with a location that keeps Sheffield's universities and city centre within easy reach.

One of the advantages of living here is that many of the places students visit every day are already nearby. Whether you're travelling to university, shopping for groceries or meeting friends after lectures, most destinations can be reached without spending much time commuting across the city.
Public transport is well established throughout the area. Shalesmoor Tram Stop and Netherthorpe Road Tram Stop provide quick access to different parts of Sheffield, while local bus services operate from nearby stops including Upperthorpe Road/Montgomery Terrace Road and Watery Street/Meadow Street. Sheffield Railway Station is also within easy reach for longer journeys during weekends or university breaks.
Daily essentials are equally convenient. Tesco Express, Sainsbury's Local, Aldi and Co-op Food are all close to the property, making grocery shopping straightforward throughout the week. Kelham Island also offers a growing selection of cafés, restaurants and independent food venues. Students can grab coffee from Ponderosa Cafe, Costa Coffee, Starbucks or local coffee shops before heading to class, while restaurants such as Saw Grinders Union, JORO Restaurant, Harlem House and Bar Kelham provide plenty of dining choices nearby.
Outside university hours, there are several places to spend your free time. Kelham Island Museum Grounds, Ponderosa Park and Weston Park offer open spaces to relax, while the on-site gym and nearby fitness centres provide convenient workout options. Sheffield Central Library and the University of Sheffield Information Commons are also nearby for students who prefer studying away from their accommodation.
Accommodation can have a real impact on your university experience, particularly when everyday travel and practical facilities become part of your routine. Electric Press Sheffield combines a well-connected location with room options that suit both shared and independent living.
Some of the reasons students choose to live here include:
Electric Press student accommodation offers a selection of room categories for students with different budgets and living preferences. En-suite rooms provide the privacy of your own bathroom while sharing communal kitchens with flatmates, whereas studios offer a fully self-contained living experience.
Students searching for Electric Press en-suite Sheffield accommodation will find several en-suite categories available, while those who prefer complete independence can choose one of the studio options.

Students attending the University of Sheffield can comfortably walk or cycle to many university buildings, while those studying at Sheffield Hallam University have straightforward access through the city's tram and bus network. The location also makes it easy to use university libraries, sports facilities and campus services throughout the week.
If you've accepted your university offer through Clearing, securing accommodation is often one of the next priorities. Properties close to Sheffield's universities are usually among the first to fill, particularly those offering all-inclusive rents and good transport connections.
Checking room availability soon after confirming your place gives you a better chance of securing the room type you want. Availability changes throughout the Clearing period, so making an enquiry early often provides more options before the busiest weeks begin.
Whether you're travelling to lectures, exploring different parts of Sheffield or heading home during university breaks, getting around from Electric Press is straightforward. Tram stops, bus routes and the city's main railway station are all within easy reach of the property.

There's also flexibility in the accommodation itself. Shared en-suite rooms suit students who enjoy living with flatmates while still having their own private bathroom, whereas the Deluxe Studio provides a fully self-contained option for those who prefer greater independence. Social facilities such as the lounge, cinema room and pool table create opportunities to meet other residents, while practical features including bike storage, on-site laundry and maintenance support help simplify everyday living throughout the tenancy.

The building is good, but my overall experience has been very disappointing. The kitchen hygiene is extremely poor, with a constant bad smell. Incidents like raw meat being left out are very disturbing and literally make me feel sick. As a vegetarian, this place is a big no — I prefer home-cooked meals but can’t even use the kitchen. Living in these conditions has been very stressful. Flatmates are rude and inconsiderate, and management doesn’t take real action — they just send emails, but nothing changes.
