About this property
There are plenty of student properties across Edinburgh, but very few become part of your routine as quickly as Murano House Edinburgh. The reason isn't difficult to understand. The residence sits in a well-connected part of the city where lectures, grocery shopping, cafés, public transport and evenings out all feel close enough to fit naturally into everyday student life.
For many students, accommodation is about much more than having somewhere to sleep. It becomes your study space before exams, your kitchen after late lectures and the place where friendships often begin. Murano House has been planned with exactly that in mind, offering a choice of private studios and shared en-suite accommodation that suits different lifestyles without making everyday living complicated.
Whether you're moving to Edinburgh for your first semester or returning for postgraduate study, Murano House Edinburgh provides a practical base that keeps you connected to both university life and the city itself.
Every student has different priorities when choosing accommodation. Some won't compromise on having their own kitchen, while others prefer sharing a flat because they enjoy the social side of university. Instead of expecting everyone to fit the same mould, Murano House student halls offer accommodation for both.
Students who prefer independent living can choose one of the spacious studio apartments, each with a private kitchen, bathroom and study area. Those who like the atmosphere of shared accommodation can opt for an en-suite room, enjoying their own private bathroom while sharing communal spaces with a small number of flatmates.
The building itself has been designed to support daily student life rather than simply provide bedrooms. Dedicated study areas offer somewhere different to work when you need a change from your room, while common spaces make it easier to relax after lectures or meet people living in the residence.
Support is always available as well. On-site management, maintenance staff and twenty-four-hour assistance mean residents have help whenever it's required, allowing them to settle into university life with fewer practical worries.
Address: 2–5 Amphion Lane, Edinburgh EH7 5FL, United Kingdom
One of the biggest advantages of living here isn't something inside the building at all. It's the neighbourhood.
Leith has gradually become one of Edinburgh's most popular areas with students because it offers a mix of independent cafés, restaurants, local shops and green spaces without feeling as crowded as the city centre. Living here means everyday errands rarely become time-consuming.
Picking up groceries from Sainsbury's Local, grabbing coffee on Easter Road or meeting friends for dinner at The Granary can all become part of your weekly routine. Ocean Terminal provides shopping, entertainment and additional restaurants nearby, while Leith Links offers open green space whenever you want a break from busy university schedules.
Public transport is equally convenient. McDonald Road Tram Stop and the Easter Road bus corridor make travelling across Edinburgh straightforward, while Edinburgh Waverley railway station provides connections across Scotland and the rest of the UK.
Students also benefit from nearby study spaces such as Leith Library, giving another option when a quieter working environment is needed outside campus.
Students searching for accommodation usually compare several properties before making a decision. What often makes Murano House stand out is that it focuses on the things students actually use every day.

I started off quite scared to actually get involved in university life, especially in terms of making new friends. Even with access to university groupchats and accomodation groupchats I found it hard with my highly packed schedule. Whilst the accomodation has made it easier to move to and from university due to access to public transport (inc. a tram stop and multiple bus stops) the actual on site activites are often catered to people who simply do not work. This means if you are a student who has to work to survive it becomes increasingly difficult to make friends and find spare time.

The room was basic but clean and practical, exactly as I would have expected. The one thing that is annoying is that the doors only close with a loud bang so you hear everybody coming and going.
Tom Bailey
The assortment of manky old matresses, scrap white goods, shopping trolleys and other assorted rubbish out the front really adds to the aesthetic of the street

Amazing hotel with outstanding service! A special shoutout to Valentina at the reception — she was incredibly professional, kind, and welcoming. From the moment I arrived, she made everything smooth and stress-free. Her attention to detail and genuine care truly made my stay unforgettable. Valentina is a real asset to the hotel!”

Floors were so insanely dirty, reception has minimal supplies and you have to do a lap to reception for anything instead of it just being in the room. Room was ridiculously hot and yet you can’t open the window more than an inch, deadass thought it was a prank
