Collegiate Shaftesbury Hall, cheltenham

It has been an amazing time living here for almost a year now. Different funfilled occasions planned by the accommodation. The staffs and manager are all accommodating. Listens to 100s of our flatmates nagging 🤭 and get it solved immediately. I have wonderful flatmates as well

I have lived in Shaftesbury since September after finding it online just looking for accomodation. Last year I lived in Pittville which was way smaller and more expensive than this accomodation- the ensuite toilet almost touched the shower, there was NO room. However, I thought this place was a scam at first. They offered me a year bus pass worth over 500 pounds, the accomodation was cheap and I could book for 51 weeks meaning I wouldn't have to stress about moving so soon like in Pittville. When I toured the place, I was greeted with nothing but smiles and warmth from Athena (she's the one with gorgeous brown hair in the office). Not only did she walk me up 4 flights of stairs to view a room, she gave me every detail she could and was extremely patient with all my questions. So, customer service is 10/10! When I moved into my room, I requested for bottom floor (I hate stairs) and the room furthest away from the rest since I snore. And I got exactly that! As well as this, moving in was super streamlined and efficient, and we got tons of freebies and even a cute little carepackage on my desk when I arrived full of liquid IVs, chocolate, and a very expensive Phillips razor. Plus loads of cupcakes, drinks and merchandise. I was having problem moving in since I had a lot of stuff and needed another time slot, and Athena reassured me I could have as much time as I needed and put my mind at total ease, also gave me some toilet roll which was such a life saver. I attached some pics of my room below (it's a little messy, but hey, I'm a student). The accomodation isn't as 'flash' as Pittville where you pay a premium. But for the price you pay plus the incentives plus amazing staff, I think it is more than a steal. The room is extremely spacious and the photos don't do it justice. It's humble, cosy and the mattresses are comfy. I'm a chubby girl so I was worried about a single bed, but it is more than enough room for me and my partner sometimes when he visits. The internet is pretty fast with E-thernet ports and plenty of plugs available near the desk. The wardrobe is roomy with plenty of storage options like cubbies and coat racks. The desk is HUGE with 3 drawers and more cubbies above, and a bookshelf near the bed. There is also a light switch near the bed which really is a life saver when I'm lazy. It's nice to have carpet too. The room was pretty immaculate when I moved in except for a few stains on the carpet and a patched hole in the curtain. But it literally doesn't bother me and I hardly notice it. The bathroom is pretty spacious too, with plenty of room between the toilet and shower. The sink is, well, a sink. Storage above it plus a light and one of those shaving plug thingies. The shower has pressure and heating control which is like a spa omg. It's not huge but not too small either, definitely got to do some gymnastics to shave my legs. The only problem I have with the shower is that the curtain is one of those plasticky thingies that stick to you like a lost puppy. And it lets a little bit of water onto the floor too. But c'est la vie. Other than that, I have literally no problems with this place. My flatmates are quiet, but I know other flats definitely like to party (in a good way). People are SO friendly and there is a huge diversity of people here at Shaftesbury. One of the neighbouring flats has a few Pakistani people and they invited me to eat with them and it was so kind and tasty. Shaftesbury often holds events too, like our most recent one was a Halloween Inflatable Disco with a smoke machine, banging tunes and FREE ALCOHOL!!!! Every student's dreams. Location is practically attached to FCH and Lidl is like a 5 min walk away, plus town is 10 mins and has everything you ever need. Parcel collections and letters are easy, there is a hoover for you to borrow, circuit laundry machines and every interaction leaves you feeling happy inside. If you're looking for a friendly, cosy and cheap accom, Shaftesbury has you covered. :) Special shoutout to Athena and Cerys and Renee the cleaner, best staff members

I’ve had a great experience living at Shaftesbury Hall Student Accommodation in Cheltenham. The location is ideal — it’s so close to town, which makes getting to shops, cafés, and transport really convenient. The atmosphere here feels welcoming and well-kept, and I’ve always felt comfortable. A special mention goes to Athena at reception — she’s always friendly, helpful, and quick to sort out any questions or issues. It makes a big difference having someone so reliable at the front desk. Overall, a great place to stay for students. Highly recommend!

Amazing place to live in. Staffs are all friendly and engaging. They started helping me even before I moved in here, specifically Athena helped me a lot with signing and paperwork. The location is quiet and peaceful, perfect environment for students. It's full of students who have been really social, outgoing and helpful. The staffs put on huge effort to arrange small parties for us every once in a while which is fun. Management is good too. The place is safe and secure for living. Rooms are nice and tidy. High street is only 5 minutes away from the accommodation, really convenient for shopping and going to social events. The bus stations can be found on High street as well, train station is about 20 minutes walking distance. Overall memorable experience living here!

Though this place is nice to live, I had not had a good experience with their service.
