Transom House, bristol

DO…NOT…..LIVE…..HERE, I hate transom house, it is the worlds hottest building I felt like I was living in a oven, every floor has its own unique terrible funk, the Greg’s van will wake you up in the night, the building has an evil aura the living room just sucks, three people where killed in the area while I was living here I was only here 7 month the windows don’t open and they leek, Genuinely summer in this building was horrible, there is no air flow, the corridors feel like the back rooms, the bike storage is tiny and terrible, you will end up living with loud evil people the only redeemable quality about this building is then location. The staff are Genuinely lovely this review is in no way negative to any of the staff I really liked them. Bro that smell is honestly so bad I didn’t know a building could smell like this. I WOULD BE SURPRISED IF THIS BUILDING MAKES YOU GO INSANE ITS WORSE THAN THE HOTEL IN THE SHINING. EVIL EVIL EVIL EVIL BUILDING

Had a comfortable stay with good accommodation and a convenient location. There were plenty of stores, cafés, and useful amenities nearby, which made everything easy and accessible. Overall, a pleasant and convenient experience.

Not recommended at all Old building with no elevator, they only clean the shared places in the flat once a month, sharing the shower with 4 other students, the furniture in the flat is so old. The only good thing is the location

Before moving into transom house for my first year at uni I was dreading it after reading some of the older reviews but I have honestly had the best year living in the building. The “standard” bedrooms are huge: with a big window, massive desk and a decent sized bed aswell as loads of storage and floor space. The shared kitchens are big compared to some of the other UWE accommodation kitchens and the shared showers are also pretty large. Don’t expect 5* decoration and modern facilities but it definitely does the job. The location is perfect and the staff are all so lovely and helpful, theirs is pretty much 24/7 desk service so you can always collect your delivery’s. It can be noisy because of how thin the walls are and as it’s on the Main Street so bring earplugs. Maintenance issues are fixed fast if they’re serious. Only complaint that that I wish there was more washing machines.

No lifts so definitely not disability friendly. Building is extremely old and overrun with poor maintenance. The company uses the cheapest facilities possible. Never once did I feel safe living there. Walls are extremely thin so there was always noise and constant stress. It was the worst place I have ever lived in. Staff don’t care about you at all, so don’t bother trying to raise any issues whatsoever.
