Less than 20 minutes walk away from York St John University and a 25-minute walk from University of York, this accommodation is an excellent choice for students at both Universities.

I’m giving this place 2 stars for these reasons: 1) great location, 2) roof above my head. Nothing else from this place deserves a star: staff is passive aggressive; silverfish was a problem in multiple rooms in Pullman House (mine and my friend’s); common room is only open until 10pm and you’ve only got between 4-5pm to collect your parcel on a weekday. In case you lose your keys, there’s a whopping charge of 30 odd pounds and in case you lock out and need assistance getting into your room outside of working hours- same charge on top. Basically, you get very little for the price you pay, there’re more appealing options in York and especially if you’re a UoY student, student accommodation is nicer and more to value. PROS: city walls are nearby, big shops as well

Great location but absolutely no character or any nice amenities. This is a comfortable, but totally soulless place to live as a student. It costs +£950 a month for a 10 x 6 room with a shower and a toilet. There are better options.

I have stayed in abode for the past 2 years and have loved how kind all the staff are! Especially Annabelle, Joy and Julie! The rooms are very spacious and all the facilities are clean and very useful. I will miss living in Abode when I move out. Another perk which I love is how close it is to almost everything: city centre, university and supermarkets.

Lived here for a 6 months whilst I was in university, great value for money with many facilities included. No complaints from myself about my experience here. The staff are also incredibly kind and helpful with any enquiries which helped me a lot whilst I was here. Wishing Annabelle the best of luck in the future, she’s wonderful

If you turn 18 in the first semester of university, we can accept your booking at properties where there is 24/7 security available and have an adult over the age of 18 must be a co-signatory on your tenancy agreement and must accept the terms of it. B. We can accept under 18s in some of our properties subject to our Policy for Students under the Age of 18. C. Note : Aspen property does not accept bookings from students under the age of 18.
Homes for Students do not charge a booking fee. When you accept your room offer, you’ll be asked to pay a deposit to secure your room which is secured with a deposit protection service and refunded at the end of your tenancy.
No pets of any kind are permitted at Homes for Students, except registered assistance dogs.
If you follow the ‘book now’ process you can select the room of your choice or you can make special requests within the ‘create application’ route which we will do our best to accommodate, however all requests and subject to availability and conditions.
