About this property
London can feel enormous when you first arrive, which is why location matters so much. Living somewhere with good transport, everyday essentials nearby and a neighbourhood that has its own character makes settling into university life far easier. Townhall Camberwell offers exactly that. Set on Peckham Road, the property places students in one of South London's most creative neighbourhoods while keeping central London within easy reach.
Townhall Camberwell is built for students who prefer having their own private space without feeling disconnected from the people around them. The accommodation combines self-contained studio living with shared social facilities, creating an environment where you can focus on your studies when you need to and meet other residents whenever you feel like taking a break. For students searching for Camberwell Town Hall accommodation that balances independence with community, it's a property worth considering.
Living away from home isn't simply about having somewhere to sleep. Your accommodation quickly becomes the place where assignments get finished, dinners are cooked, weekends begin and friendships often start.
Townhall Camberwell has been designed around that idea. Every resident has the privacy of a self-contained studio, giving you your own bedroom, bathroom and kitchen without the need to share everyday facilities with strangers. That extra independence appeals to students who enjoy setting their own routine, whether that means studying late into the evening or cooking whenever it suits them.
Outside your room, the atmosphere changes. The lounge, games room and cinema room give residents places to spend time together, while the rooftop terrace offers somewhere to escape the indoors for a while and enjoy a different view of the city. Those shared spaces make it easy to meet people naturally rather than feeling isolated in your own apartment.
The neighbourhood adds another reason students choose the property. Camberwell has developed a reputation for independent cafés, creative spaces and a lively local community that feels noticeably different from busier parts of central London. That character makes Camberwell townhall homes for students an increasingly popular choice for those who want more than just a postcode.
Choosing accommodation in London often comes down to one question: how easy will everyday life be? Staying in Camberwell answers that quite comfortably.

Camberwell has its own pace. It sits close enough to central London to keep universities and major attractions within reach, yet still manages to feel like a neighbourhood where people actually live rather than simply pass through.
From Townhall Camberwell, grabbing groceries, meeting friends for lunch or catching public transport quickly becomes part of your routine. Denmark Hill station provides straightforward rail and Overground connections across the capital, while nearby bus services make travelling around South London equally convenient.
The local area has plenty of personality. Independent cafés line Camberwell Church Street, restaurants stay busy throughout the week and the nearby pubs are well known among both students and local residents. Camberwell Green offers open space when you need a break from lectures or city streets, while King's College Hospital and Camberwell Library are close enough to provide reassurance as well as convenience.
One of the biggest advantages of living here is that London never feels out of reach. Whether your destination is a university campus, a museum, a concert or simply another part of the city you've never explored before, getting there is rarely difficult.
Every student has different priorities when choosing accommodation, but Townhall Camberwell brings together many of the features students consistently look for in London.

Secure bike storage.

Rather than offering dozens of room categories, Townhall Camberwell focuses on one accommodation style that gives students complete privacy throughout their stay.

Finding accommodation through Clearing can feel like you're making several major decisions all at once. One moment you're waiting for confirmation from your university, and the next you're comparing neighbourhoods, transport links and room types, hoping to find somewhere that genuinely feels right.
Townhall Camberwell makes that search a little more straightforward. Since every room is a private studio, you don't have to weigh up endless accommodation options before making a decision. If having your own kitchen, bathroom and study space is high on your priority list, the choice is refreshingly simple.
Because London accommodation fills quickly before the academic year begins, it's worth checking availability as soon as your university place is confirmed, especially if you're planning to move through Clearing.
One of the biggest advantages of living in Camberwell is that travelling soon becomes second nature. Whether you're heading to lectures, meeting friends across London or catching a train home for the weekend, you'll have reliable public transport close by.

Denmark Hill Station connects you to several parts of London without complicated journeys, while the nearby bus routes make shorter trips across South London equally convenient. After a few weeks, you'll probably find yourself navigating the city without giving it much thought.
One reason students enjoy Camberwell is that it doesn't feel like a neighbourhood built purely for visitors. People live here, work here and spend time here, giving the area a character that's noticeably different from some of London's busier districts.
The Coffee Routine
Every student eventually finds a favourite café. Sometimes it's because the coffee is good, sometimes because there's always a quiet table near the window.
Around Camberwell Church Street, you'll find plenty of independent cafés where students often stop before lectures or spend an afternoon working away from their rooms.

Food Without Going Far
There will be evenings when cooking isn't on the agenda. Fortunately, there are plenty of nearby places where meeting friends over dinner is just as easy as ordering something to take away.
Popular choices nearby include:
The Sun of Camberwell
The Bear
Shopping That Fits Around Your Day
You won't need to dedicate an entire afternoon to buying groceries or picking up essentials. Most daily errands can be done on the way home rather than becoming a separate trip.
Nearby you'll find:
Camberwell Green supermarkets
Camberwell Green shops
A Bit of Green in the Middle of London
London moves quickly, but Camberwell Green has a habit of slowing things down for a while. Some students sit there with lunch between lectures, others walk through it simply because it's a quieter route home.

Staying Active
If going to the gym is already part of your routine, you'll be able to keep that habit going without travelling across the city.

Somewhere Else to Study
Even students with comfortable rooms occasionally need a change of environment. Camberwell Library gives you another place to work when you want a quieter atmosphere or simply need a break from studying in the same space every day.

Peace of Mind
Hopefully, you'll never need it, but it's reassuring to know King's College Hospital is nearby if anything unexpected happens while you're living away from home.

Evenings with Friends
Camberwell has a social side that develops naturally once you've been living in the area for a while. Rather than travelling into central London every time you want to meet people, you'll find plenty of places close to home.
Local favourites include:
The Camberwell Arms
The Kerfield Arms
Grove House Tavern
The Phoenix
Some students can't wait to have their own place. They like cooking when they want, studying without interruptions and ending the day in a space that's entirely theirs. Others worry that studio living might feel too quiet.
Townhall Camberwell strikes a comfortable balance between those two experiences. Your studio gives you complete independence, but the shared lounge, games room, cinema room and rooftop terrace mean you decide when you want company rather than having it forced on you through shared kitchens or corridors.
For many students, that's exactly the combination they're looking for.
If you're researching Townhall Camberwell before booking, you'll probably compare it with several other London residences. That's a sensible approach. Looking at the location, transport connections and facilities alongside the room itself usually gives a much clearer picture than focusing on price alone.
Students searching for Camberwell Town Hall accommodation often narrow their shortlist to properties that combine privacy with good communal spaces, and that's where this residence stands out. It also continues to attract students looking for Camberwell Town Hall homes for students because it offers independent living without cutting you off from the wider student community.
London is exciting, but it can also be overwhelming when you're new to the city. Having accommodation that already solves the practical side of everyday life makes settling in much easier.
Townhall Camberwell does that without trying too hard. You have your own studio, your bills are already included, public transport is nearby and the neighbourhood has enough cafés, green spaces and local businesses that you don't always need to head into central London to enjoy your free time.
Whether you're moving to London for your first year or continuing your studies in a new part of the city, Townhall Camberwell offers a comfortable base where university life can gradually find its own rhythm instead of feeling like one long commute.

I lived here between 2021 and 2022 - genuinely cannot think of a better place to be, the location and surrounding community are incredible! Camberwell and Peckham are my all time favourite areas in London now. Pricey but honestly with bills included it breaks down to be not a crazy amount. It's a shame the cafe that was located in the building closed down, it was so nice to go there on weekends :(

I can't think of anything I don't like about living here. For starters, the staff are so lovely and kind, I've never met a group of nicer people, even after I leave, i will continue visiting to say hi! Moving away from home, I was so scared about being alone in a big city, I was able to feel at peace, safe and made it my home. The rooms are beautiful, the view is unforgettable, I feel assured knowing my packages are safe until i'm home, the building is safe, the rooms/kitchens are modern and clean, there's a lovely lunge area, the location is perfect- not too far from central London but still close to uni and Peckham shops, where the supermarket is! This is my third year living here and I think that says enough about how much I love it! I was even able to get a little job as being RSA in the building! 5/5 rating!!!!! (attached some pretty pictures of the view!!)

Town Hall Camberwell is such a welcoming place for students. It's fully equipped with comprehensive facilities, and the front desk staff are always ready to help with any requests. What's more, it boasts an unbeatable location—with supermarkets like Lidl and Morrison nearby, making daily life extremely convenient.
