To put it simply I would never recommend this accommodation to anyone. From the beginning of my stay here in September 2025 I have had to put up with many issues within my room and the overall building, some of which being legitimate health and safety concerns. To start, when I first booked my studio flat it was advertised to me as being £186 per week, although of course when I got round to booking my contract that price jumped up to £220. This was because for it to cost £186 per week I would have had to pay for a 51 week contract all upfront. £9,486 UPFRONT!? It is totally disrespectful and borderline taking advantage of people's desperateness when they are in need of urgent accommodation to advertise the prices this way. As a final year student I was exclusively looking for a studio flat so my options were limited. When I arrived at Vita Student it took the staff around an hour and thirty minutes to get me into my room, claiming they couldn't fix the door on my fridge? Personally I think trivial issues like this shouldn't be left till the individual arrives for their room. Now comes the fun stuff, within the first days and weeks of living in my studio flat I encountered many issues with my personal favourite being that my room, which I am paying £220 a week for doesn't have openable windows! I'm not sure who approved these rooms or how this building was deemed safe but I feel as a human being I have the right to let fresh air into my room, along with this neither my kitchen or bathroom had proper ventilation- this led to many issues including: My room being extremely warm, uncomfortable and bordering on impossible to live in when the weather was warm My room smelling of food I cooked in there for days on end, because where exactly is that meant to go And a constant build up of mould in my shower that i had to clean myself every week. For a period of a month or two my room key would stop working on my door, meaning i would have to go down to reception and report this and get them to let me in, this would happen pretty much everyday leading to me always making sure my door was left slightly open as not to waste my time or the staffs when i simply want to get into my room. I believe I had to tell staff about 10-15 times about this before it was actually fixed. On top of these issues with my room, the in house gym, which was advertised to me, and played a large part in my booking of this specific location was not only closed for weeks at a time due to ''construction' (they did nothing apart from cover the room with mirrors') but also had multiple faulty devices such as treadmills and bikes that did not start. And finally coming to the event which pushed me to write this review was a simple matter of washing and drying my clothes. Firstly I think it is ridiculous that there are only 5 washers and dryers for the WHOLE building, secondly the accommodation are letting these machines take our money when they know they do not work. Just today i attempted to run wet laundry through a dryer- after an hour and a half of 'drying' they were still wet. So I tried a new machine and i had the exact same issue. Nearly £9 spent on drying, which i appreciate doesn't seem like a lot, but to get no value out of it was rather frustrating. What made this worse was the guy behind the desk at reception (which by the way no one is ever at, i shouldn't have to ring a phone number and wait 5 minutes to ask someone a question) laughed in my face when I asked if i could get a refund, suggesting I could get free drying credit (which is useless to me as i am moving back home in a few days time) he also told me that him and the staff KNEW the machines DIDNT work. So I ask how is it acceptable that this accommodation and whatever company they sort the laundry room through can take our money, while being aware that the machines do not work. This accommodation is nothing short of a disgrace, I will be requestion compensation because the extortionate money paid was absolutely not worth the experience. Love the upgraded facilities in the hub, last year the table football was not working but this year it seems like the old one has been replaced with a newer version which is great

Honestly it's not even really that it's specially bad, but in the summer the rooms with no windows can easily get to 35 degrees celcius, frankly the fact there even are rooms with no windows, and that they don't come with any fans or air con is outright absurd and potentially a genuine health hazard, if you were to cook I could easily imagine the rooms getting up to 40 degrees. The building is rather obviously understaffed, it is a very common for you to get stuck outside if you've forgotten your pass and you could be stuck outside up to half an hour if you're unlucky, they should always have a staff member available at reception to help but they simply don't hire enough staff to do so with(which in of itself makes the life of the staff members here much harder and frustrating). Yes they include cleaning services for the rooms but, 1 you're not allowed to use their hoovers/vacuums since we might break their equipment etc, and frankly between the two cleaners the expectations are world apart, with Charlotte it's hard to even know if she's been in the room sometimes( I once received a notification that cleaning had been finished before I even managed to reach the entrance of the building), although the other cleaning which unfortunately I dont recall the name did do a fantastic job and actually cleaned it like, they wanted the room to be clean? Vending machine in the leisure area has been out of commission for I'd like to say at least 6 months now
