Brookland Road, leicester

Student Roost- Brookland Road has been my home for most of my time at the University and it has been really great. The reception staff and the housekeeping staff are all very friendly and approachable as well as helpful. The property is great and close to places to eat, buy groceries, the University of Leicester and walkable to city centre as well. The rooms are quite spacious and the kitchen is well-equipped. Overall, it’s a great student accommodation, with most social spaces and the gym located at the main property (Upperton). 😊

I stayed here my final year of university and the staff were lovely and the room and kitchen were great. There was no lift in my building which was annoying when moving in and out but it was only a few flights of stairs! The walls are quite thin so if you have noisy neighbours that can also be annoying but I can’t fault Student Roost or the team at Brookland Road at all. I had some issues with silverfish but that was due to damp towels or my shower mat being left out. Any maintenance issues I had were quickly resolved and I was impressed by the routine checks and changes of shower heads. I would definitely recommend living here as it is close to the university and it was the perfect place to finish my university journey. However if you drive.. there is no parking available!!

This is the worst place I have ever had the misfortune of booking and living at. Rude and incompetent staff members who literally do not care about anything or any issues whatsoever. It’s a company so what do you expect. There is one guy that works here that seriously gives me the creeps - the brunette man with scruffy hair. He needs to go.. seriously I have never come across someone as incompetent as him in all my 20 years of life. Leaving our fridge broken because he ‘forgot’. All our food spoiled that day. Do not stay here unless you are a fan of black mold and silverfish. Luckily I had no bed bugs like a few unfortunate people who had also stayed here. The staff do not care at all I was once asked ‘if everything was well in myself’ for the one room check up they did. Like do you really want to know what I am feeling in this moment because i have a feeling you really don’t want to. They refuse to deal with the infestation of silverfish and gave me about 1 trap before ignoring or yelling at me that it was my fault they were here! LOL!! like yes I am obviously the silverfish whisperer and brought them here. Absolutely awful place to stay, and I will be releasing the evidence of this on request so this review cannot be taken down as ‘false information’ The state I even received this room was filthy, mud all over the already gross carpet. burns and cup rings everywhere. Is it really so difficult to clean a room? I do not recommend staying here.

I have bed bugs and asked them to sort it out and sent them a video of the bugs and they said they wouldn’t do anything until they saw bites because they needed more evidence the didn’t even give me anything that would help me get rid of them and they expected me to still stay there and wait to get bitten, then once I got bitten I emailed them and so far no reply. Insane negligence I am so disappointed as they seemed fine at the start. Also instead of having hoovers per accom we have to drag them from reception to our flat mind you there’s 3 buildings that have to share these limited hoovers… and when I shower water floods out of the shower because of the drainage. Your better off staying in university of Leicester village accom Update: they have thankfully addressed the issues that I had so I feel the matter has been resolved I will see when back from xmas

I’m a resident here at Brookland road and the staff are brilliant. Last week my shower wasn’t getting hot and Scott fixed it within a few days and even replaced my extractor fan as well. They really do ensure you’re comfortable and do whatever they can to help you out.
