Living at Scape Guildford has been great. It gives me the independence I need, but it's also really easy to be social here. The staff are always helpful, and there's a good atmosphere in the building. I like that it's modern and clean, and the amenities like the study spaces and gym are a big plus. The best part is probably the social areas, it's a really easy way to meet new people. Plus, it's super convenient for getting to campus , shops and the station . It's made my university experience a lot more enjoyable and less stressful. I would recommend as long as you don’t mind the odd train noise 😝

I had a fantastic stay at Scape! The modern facilities and friendly staff made me feel right at home. The communal areas were great for meeting new people, and the location is perfect for exploring guildford. Highly recommend it!

I am loving staying at scape! It’s incredibly maintained and the staff - especially Maddy, Myra, Ben and Eddie have made the my time here extra special when it comes to silly questions to needing someone to chat to. Scape feels like home and has the best location! It’s close to Uni and town. The shared spaces are always clean and welcoming.

I'll start with the positives. Staying in a private living arrangement is definitely a step ahead of the university accommodation. The staff are very nice and friendly. The buildings are generally clean and well maintained. And location wise, Scape is very conveniently located relative to the university, high street, green spaces like Stoke Park, train station, Ladymead retail park, and more. However, there are a lot of areas that make the negatives outweigh the positives. Firstly, the check in process in September was very chaotic by having every single student come in to complete the introductory processes at the same time. Virtually a lot of things are outsourced to an app, which is silly, considering there are some people who may not want to use a smartphone for every single thing in the world. What happened to freedom of choice? Furthermore, the flat I was given had some maintenance problems when I received it, such as the cupboards not being fixed, the previous tenant doing a pathetic job at cleaning it (case in point: the mold in the bathrooms and the floor across the apartment). There are issues with getting consistent hot water when washing dishes, but the management do absolutely zilch about it, only sending you back to leave the water running for 10 minutes (as if there wasn't already a problem of water wastage). Also, the explanation on how to use basic appliances like the Induction stovetop was extremely limited, leaving new tenants to figure it out themselves. Not to mention little notice of the induction stovetop making many cooking tools we had brought unusable. And restrictions on pressure cookers are unreasonable (though many are using them anyway). Air ventilation is extremely poor, with there being a perpetual threat of the smoke alarm going off due to its sensitivity. Heating is also inadequate, which isn't helpful whenever there's a cold front. In addition, although they explicitly say that washing and drying is available, it was never mentioned that both had a price tag? Why should I have to pay more than 6 pounds for each time I wash and dry my clothes? Can't it be at a cheaper rate? Noise levels are poorly regulated, with a lot of shouting and screeching being a regularity by the pool tables. Finally, why is it that vacuum cleaners are rarely available? Surely after charging high rents, you'd think Scape can muster up more of them. Overall it's not the worst living arrangement, but it's another experience encapsulating many aspects of living in the UK. Overpriced with extra fees and expenses for everything, with poor value and quality in return. Edit (as of June 2026) : Eventually they fixed the issue of hot water, but it was very belated and after urging them endlessly. As for the room temperature, the lack of AC is a huge miss during heat waves. The humidity in the flat can be horrendous at those times. Although that's a problem in many British homes that aren't built to keep the heat out. Another issue that has popped up recently is broken glass in some parts of the building. They won't splash and cause injury due to how they're installed, but it takes a very long time to get them replaced. Not a good way to create a positive first impression.

had an amazing experience staying at Scape! The facilities were modern, clean, and super comfortable everything you need is right there. The staff were always friendly and willing to help with anything, which made settling in so much easier. The communal areas were a great place to meet new people, and the events organized by Scape made the stay even more enjoyable. The location was super convenient too close to train transport, cafes, and shops and uni
