About this property
Finding student accommodation in Edinburgh isn't difficult. Finding somewhere that genuinely fits your day-to-day university life is another matter. Norton's Student Living Edinburgh offers exactly that balance. Set close to the city centre, the residence gives students easy access to universities, reliable transport links and the everyday essentials that quickly become part of your routine.
Whether your day begins with an early lecture or ends with dinner in the city, living here means spending less time travelling and more time enjoying everything Edinburgh has to offer.
Designed exclusively for students, Norton's Student Living combines comfortable accommodation with welcoming communal spaces where it's easy to meet people, settle into university life and feel at home from the very beginning.
With en-suite rooms, private studios and a wide range of shared facilities, the property caters to different lifestyles while creating a community where studying and socialising sit comfortably alongside one another.
Starting university often means adjusting to an entirely new city, new people and a different daily routine. Where you live plays a big role in how easily that transition happens. Norton's Student Living Edinburgh has been created with those first experiences in mind, offering accommodation that feels practical, comfortable and well connected from the moment you move in.
The property is reserved exclusively for students, creating an environment where everyone is at a similar stage of life. That shared experience naturally makes it easier to build friendships, whether you're chatting in the communal kitchen, relaxing in the cinema room or taking a break between study sessions in one of the shared lounges.
Student accommodation is available in both en-suite and studio formats. Students who enjoy a sociable atmosphere can choose an en-suite room with shared kitchen and lounge facilities, while those who value greater privacy have the option of fully self-contained studios complete with their own kitchen. This flexibility allows residents to choose a living arrangement that suits both their personality and their budget.
Life outside your room is just as important. Dedicated study areas provide somewhere quiet to prepare for assignments, while communal spaces encourage residents to unwind after lectures or spend time getting to know their neighbours. Rather than feeling like a standard apartment building, Norton's Student Living develops into a community where university life extends beyond the classroom.
Where you live can have a surprising impact on your university experience. A convenient location often means fewer early-morning commutes, easier access to campus and more opportunities to enjoy the city in your free time.
Address: 11 Montrose Terrace, Edinburgh EH7 5AF, United Kingdom
Edinburgh manages to feel both historic and modern at the same time. Medieval streets sit alongside contemporary shopping districts, centuries-old landmarks stand within walking distance of independent cafés, and the city's student population gives many neighbourhoods an energetic atmosphere throughout the academic year.
Living at Norton's Student Living Edinburgh places you close to many of those everyday conveniences. London Road provides cafés for a quick coffee before lectures, supermarkets for grocery shopping and regular bus services connecting different parts of the city. McDonald Road Tram Stop is also nearby, making journeys across Edinburgh straightforward, while Edinburgh Waverley Station offers rail connections for weekends away or trips home during university breaks.
Students rarely need to travel far for everyday essentials. Sainsbury's Local is close enough for regular grocery runs, while St James Quarter offers a much larger selection of shops, restaurants, cafés and entertainment whenever you feel like spending an afternoon in the city centre.
There are quieter moments too. Royal Terrace Gardens provides a peaceful place to step away from coursework, read outdoors or simply enjoy some fresh air. Edinburgh Central Library offers another study option outside university, and the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh remains within easy reach should healthcare ever be required.
Whether you're exploring Edinburgh's historic streets for the first time or gradually discovering your favourite cafés and study spots, living at Norton's Student Living means the city quickly starts to feel familiar.

the rooms were fine although my shower had a leak and there were patches of paint on the wall that were a different shade to the wall colour. they are very unresponsive. i’ve been calling them multiple times a day for the past week and they’ve never picked up. i’ve had to change important plans because they are not picking up and it’s urgent. ultimately even though the place is nice i don’t think it’s worth the money because if things go wrong, in my experience, they don’t help at all.

Horrific. Charging way too much for a two night stay and claimed I was staying in a two bed room, only to be greeted by a not even double bed and the world’s smallest bathroom. I can’t dare to think what a single room looks like.
Guille
Horrible accommodation. We stayed for two nights in a studio, and the experience was awful. The fridge didn't work, so all of our refrigerated food was ruined. The mattress was broken and incredibly uncomfortable—the worst bed I have ever slept on. The floor was dirty and covered in dust. When we went to reception to complain, they didn't offer any solution or assistance. It is absolutely not worth the money. DON'T STAY HERE.

I have loved my experience at Norton! The management is very responsive if I have any concerns. Also, my room was like brand new when I moved in! The neighborhood is also perfect location if you want to be walking distance from the city centre, but want to retreat to an area little quieter.

I had a wonderful experience staying at Norton’s student living. The rooms were clean and well kept, and the amenities such as the gym and movie theatre were lovely additions for student living and hosting guests. Reception was always friendly and proactive with listening to my needs and concerns. Similarly, maintenance was always knowledgeable and punctual with making repairs. Overall I appreciated time living at Nortons and the staff there.
