I've had a really positive experience during my stay here. The accommodation is comfortable, well-managed, and the team consistently goes above and beyond to make sure everything runs smoothly. A big thank you to the whole team for their warmth, professionalism, and consistent support throughout my time here. You've created a genuinely welcoming environment that makes it easy to feel at home. A special mention to Louis from maintenance — always on hand and always helpful. That kind of dedication really does make a difference to everyday life here. Grateful for everything. Would absolutely recommend.

Absolutely phenomenal experience here. The receptionists are lovely, and the student wardens are top tier. It's a relatively new building compared to other nearby student accommodation options, and as such, the rooms are quite nice too – definitely more spacious. All in all, I would recommend it.

Lovely staff, accommodation is perfect for a uni student and has a communal room for friends and family, close to town and has an aldi not about 2 mins away, would recommend. Fast internet around 320mbps Also close to town station about 5 min walk. Expect to clean up for others if no communication happens (Kitchen, main downside, everything such as electric, gas and water is covered in rent), get fined if the kitchen is not up to a certain standard each week, I however cleaned up after myself and did communicate to staff this was not my mess therefore didn’t get fined. Shower is a bit small (im around 6”2) but no different to uni on site accomodation. Heating is not great, tiny heater to heat a whole room. Great little room/ kitchen for someone wanting to build independence Hayleigh and Emma are the most lovely staff no matter the issue you encounter they manage to help out.

Updated honest review! 0/5 stars! An absolute disgrace of a company. From top to bottom, the management is unprofessional, dismissive, and this is deeply concerning. The property manager, Emma, appears more focused on making her own job easier than on resident safety and wellbeing. Serious issues — including repeated threats of physical assault and ongoing harassment related to mental health — were ignored, while petty behaviour like name-calling seemed to take priority. On top of that, confidential matters were discussed with other residents who had no involvement, which is completely inappropriate. Even more concerning, I was only told I could leave after disclosing my disabilities — not when I raised the serious safety and harassment issues. That raises real questions about how situations are prioritised and handled. The overall environment is chaotic and unprofessional. Staff openly speak negatively about each other to residents, which creates a toxic atmosphere and makes it hard to trust anything you’re told. To make matters worse, if you leave your tenancy early — even with approval — don’t expect your refund within the stated timeframe. Delays go beyond what’s promised, and you’ll likely face repeated excuses before receiving anything. Save yourself the stress, time, and money — there are far better, safer, and more professional places to live.

Living at The Host has been a really positive experience. From the start, the atmosphere has been welcoming and friendly, which makes it feel like more than just a place to stay—it feels like a community. Hayleigh is always approachable and willing to help with any questions or issues, no matter how big or small. Her friendliness makes settling in so much easier, especially for new students. Emma has been incredibly friendly and helpful in so many ways. Louis was attentive, professional, and genuinely care about the students’ comfort and well-being. Whether it’s maintenance, security, or general support, they make sure everything runs smoothly. I’d definitely recommend The Host to anyone looking for student accommodation that combines a welcoming atmosphere with reliable and friendly staff.

Common questions
Your Host contract is for a fixed length of time – so your room is yours during that period. That means that you don’t have the hassle of moving your belongings out during the Christmas or Easter vacations, and you can choose to stay in your property over these holidays if you want. It’s usually possible to book additional accommodation over the summer period if you want to stay then too. But we advise booking early to ensure rooms are available.
