Choosing where to live is one of the biggest decisions you'll make before university begins. A good location can save hours of travelling every week, while comfortable accommodation makes it much easier to settle into a new city and establish a routine. Beechenhurst House Birmingham brings those advantages together in Selly Oak, one of the city's best-known student neighbourhoods, where university campuses, transport links and everyday essentials are all close by.
The property has been designed for students who prefer the privacy of studio living without feeling disconnected from the wider student community. Every studio comes with its own kitchen, bathroom and study space, giving you complete independence from the day you move in. Combined with communal facilities and an address in the heart of Selly Oak, Beechenhurst House offers a practical place to live throughout your university years.
Student life looks different for everyone. Some people enjoy returning to a busy shared kitchen after lectures, while others value having a quieter place where they can cook, study and relax on their own schedule. Beechenhurst House has been created with that second lifestyle in mind, offering fully self-contained studios where residents have complete control over their daily routine.
Every studio has been furnished so students can settle in without worrying about buying essential furniture before the academic year starts. Having your own kitchen means meals fit around your timetable instead of shared schedules, while a private bathroom and dedicated study area create a space where you can focus on coursework without unnecessary distractions.
Although the accommodation focuses on independent living, it doesn't mean living in isolation. Shared facilities across the building provide opportunities to meet other residents whenever you feel like taking a break from your room. Whether it's spending time in the lounge, using the communal kitchen or relaxing in the outdoor courtyard, there are plenty of chances to become part of the wider student community.
Many students also choose Beechenhurst House direct because it offers a straightforward living experience from the beginning. Utility bills are included within the rent, practical facilities are already in place, and the property sits in one of Birmingham's most established student areas, making everyday life considerably easier after moving in.

Beechenhurst House 10 Serpentine Rd sits in the centre of Selly Oak, an area that's long been associated with student life in Birmingham. The location makes it easy to reach nearby university campuses while keeping shops, cafés, public transport and everyday services within walking distance. If you've been searching for Beechenhurst House B29 7HU before planning your move, you'll find yourself in one of the city's most convenient student neighbourhoods.
Selly Oak has earned its reputation as Birmingham's student district over many years. Thousands of students choose to live here because university buildings, supermarkets, cafés and transport links all come together in one area. Living at Beechenhurst House Selly Oak means becoming part of a neighbourhood that's already built around student life.
Most daily errands can be completed within a short walk. ALDI and Sainsbury's are nearby for grocery shopping, making it easy to stock up on essentials without travelling into the city centre. Selly Oak Shopping Park is also close by, bringing together a variety of retail stores where students can pick up everything from household items to everyday necessities.
Coffee shops and restaurants are never difficult to find either. For those who like to stay active, there are two convenient fitness options nearby. The Gym Group Birmingham Selly Oak offers flexible membership options, while the University of Birmingham Tiverton Gym is another popular choice for students living in the area. If you'd rather spend some time outdoors, Selly Oak Park provides open green space where you can go for a walk, revise outside on warmer days or simply enjoy a break from studying.
The neighbourhood is equally practical when it comes to university life. The Main Library at the University of Birmingham is within easy reach whenever you need access to additional study resources, while Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham is nearby should healthcare ever be required.
Travelling across Birmingham is straightforward thanks to Selly Oak Station, which provides regular rail connections across the city. Local buses also operate from Selly Oak Station Bus Stop, giving students another convenient way to reach different campuses, the city centre and other parts of Birmingham without relying on a car.
Choosing accommodation isn't simply about finding somewhere close to university. The way you live throughout the academic year depends just as much on the facilities available, the surrounding neighbourhood and whether your accommodation suits your lifestyle. Beechenhurst House Birmingham has been designed for students who value independence while still enjoying access to shared facilities whenever they need them.

To anyone who is planning to rent this student accommodation, I recommend you to consider another place to rent. I was a tenant here during 2024-2025. When I moved out my deposit was not refunded , the managers said that I wail receive it after 3 months at the end of the contract. But after that period of time nothing happened, I have revived nothing from them , I made some researches online the only way to get the money was making a court claim , due to the contract I had , the deposit wasn’t protected by some third organisation like most of the student apartment. I was planning to bring them to court , then I knew that they changed owner , basically they said that they went bunkrupt something like that. That means that it will be useless to open a claim on them. Now is June 2026 I still haven’t received my money back. apparently the staff used to come in our room without permission , and I heard from other tenants that they lost valuable objects. They are basically thief, and when they say to you that bills are covered by them is a lie to , in the contract says that after a certain amount of water or electricity used they will charge us the cost. Before renting read the contract. I do not know how is the new management but the previous one was terrible.

So I moved in around 2 weeks ago, I was staying somewhere else in the area until a girl I met in my lecture mentioned amare students so I decided to go check it out, I was so amazed with the quality and detail put into everything. It took a few days but managed to get out of my old license and move in to beechenhurst house with the help of Debbie. She was so lovely and patient. My room is so cosy and there’s so much storage space which I love. I got a room on the lower ground so I have a set of double doors, bringing in so much more light and fresh air. Literally feel like I’m living in a 5 star hotel. I’m more than satisfied and definitely staying here for the duration of my course!

If you are attending the University of Birmingham you have to come and live at this place. The most contemporary and well-designed accommodation I have stayed in during my time at Birmingham. Staff are so friendly and helpful, security is 24 hours which makes you feel secure and the location is excellent. We have a weekly cleaning service which keeps the place looking tip top. The rooms themselves are a great size for 1/2 people and everything has a purpose in the room. Windows are large and plenty of light floods your room to give an airy feel. A must for any UoB student!
