Any reviews on here that are anything less than beaming legitimately baffle me. This is by far the best student accommodation I’ve ever had the pleasure to live in, and I’ve stayed in many over the years in both the US and UK. The staff is wonderful, friendly, and accommodating. Every public area I’ve seen is always extremely tidy and cleaned often - anyone reporting otherwise must either be referring to their own individual rooms, or else there’s been a change in management in recent years. The rooms are very nice, as well: clean hardwood design, a kitchen backsplash, great storage space in the closet and under the mattress (I will say for posterity’s sake that I opted for one of the larger rooms, so can only speak on that!). The proximity to the Uni is absolutely unmatched, and with access to gym rooms, meeting spaces, a game room, and a fantastic cinema room, you’ve got everything you could want. The place is LEAGUES quieter than other student accommodations I’ve stayed in. Truly, some of these other reviews are legitimately baffling to me. I suppose if I had to give any drawbacks, it would be the relatively few washers and dryers that can be tricky to pay over Bluetooth, but it’s only ever come up a few times that I had to wait. As per some years-old reviews, the doors currently all have keyfob based locks, so I don’t know how they could possibly be picked. Maybe that’s a somewhat recent change? Well, I’ve lived here for about a year and a half now, and I just wanted to share my appreciation for the place and its staff. As an older international student who wasn’t looking to share flats with much younger freshmen, Brook Studios has been perfect, and I’d recommend it to absolutely anyone.

I've been living here for 6 months. They have many good events, like movie night or pancake days. My room is quiet and peaceful. The building might be a bit old but the condition inside is still good. The staffs I met here are all friendly. They have a laundry machine which cost around £3.5 and drying machine which cost around £2. It's just 10 walk to the university of Birmingham.

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful with requests and the location is excellent. Maintenance service was excellent and problems were solved quickly and efficiently. Sadly the pictures online are very misleading for what the accommodation actually looks like. I specifically asked Hello Student what the difference was between the types of rooms before I moved in and the answer I was given was 'size'. However the truth is that only the most expensive (diamond) rooms are actually as modern as the photos on the website. The silver room that I was originally assigned to was very run down and old. The diamond room that I moved to was perfect and very comfortable, clean, modern etc (exactly as the photos on the website), however it was more expensive than I ideally wanted! There are also no recycling facilities available which is not great...and ordering parcels can sometimes be an inconvenience as there is nowhere to leave them in case you are out. However none of this is the fault of the reception staff who were always very attentive to my demands(!) and very friendly when I saw them :)

One word: AVOID I had chosen this accommodation for the location, to be fair the location is great but there are defo better ones in the same area. I had left my Studio double-locked for a week's holiday abroad to come back with a theft case. Over £1500 value worth of belongings had been stolen along with more cash. My first instance was to talk to reception about this and at first did not want to bother the police but their reply was "There's nothing we can do about this" ... I did not at all expect this attitude from the staff. therefore I reported this to the police and found out there were squatters accommodating in the building! the police had also told me there have been other theft reports from this building and was only two months ago from mine. How ridiculous, considering it is student accommodation, you would think they would put safety first but clearly not.

Worst student accommodation to date. The accommodation smells, it is a waste of money. The staff are very rude and do not understand your needs. The place is run down and filthy. PLEASE do not waste your time in booking. The pictures only apply to diamond studios. The bathroom is run down, the only time you can get fresh air is when you actually leave the accommodation. Please do not under any circumstances book this place as everything you see online is a facade. They send you multiple emails to force you to complete your booking.
