Your rent also includes high-speed internet access. That's one less bill to think about when you're budgeting for student life, and it means you can get on with online classes, assignments, video calls, and everything else you need the internet for.
Vivida keeps things fairly simple. You have your studio, but there are shared spaces and facilities around the property when you want to get out of your room.
If you don't always want to study in your studio, you can use the available communal areas. Printing services are also available on-site, which is handy when you need to print an assignment at the last minute.
The lobby gives you somewhere to sit and meet other residents. The property also runs community events, so you have opportunities to get to know people rather than spending all your time on your own.
There are barbecue grills too, which can come in handy when you want to have a casual meal with friends.
When you move to a new city, especially from overseas, it can take a little while to adjust. Vivida has staff available 24 hours a day and a front desk that is open 24 hours a day.
During business hours, our reception team is on hand to answer general questions, and our after-hours emergency team is available to help with urgent matters. We also have multilingual staff.
Security cameras and an intercom system are in place around the property, adding to the overall security of the building.
There's an onsite laundry, so you won't have to leave the property every time you need to wash your clothes.
Accessible rooms are available too. If you're bringing a car, secure parking is available for an additional cost, along with controlled access gates and street-side parking.
Living in Hawthorn gives you plenty of ways to get around Melbourne.
The Burwood Rd/Power St tram stop is close by, and buses leave from places such as Elgin Pl/Power St. If you’re taking a train, Hawthorn Railroad Station and Glenferrie Station are nearby.
This gives you the freedom to choose the transportation method that best fits your destination, rather than limiting you to just one option. Your actual journey time will depend on your university campus and the service you use.
If you're looking for student accommodation in Melbourne, Student Living - Vivida provides you with access to several educational institutions, including:
Before booking, it's worth checking the route from Vivida to your specific campus. University campuses can be spread across different parts of Melbourne, so your daily commute may vary.
One of the nice things about living in Hawthorn is that you don't have to go into the city for everything. You have supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, and green spaces around the neighborhood.
For your regular grocery runs, you can visit Hawthorn Square, IGA Renaissance Hawthorn, or Woolworths Supermarket at HomeCo. Hawthorn East.
So, whether you're doing a full weekly shop or just need a few things for dinner, you have options close to home.
Hawthorn has plenty of places to grab food between lectures or meet friends for coffee.
For a meal, you can try Double Zero Pizzeria Melbourne, The Greek Spot Tavern, The Morang, Ninis, or Mother Dough.
For coffee, places such as Axil Coffee Roasters, The Works Cafe, Rubika Cafe & Bar, Bawa Cafe, and PORGIES HAWTHORN are nearby.
Having this range of cafes and restaurants around you can make a difference when you're tired of cooking or simply want somewhere to sit with your laptop for a while.
For everyday shopping, West Hawthorn Shopping Centre and Glenferrie Centre are nearby.
When you want to get away from screens and study notes for a while, you can head to St. James Park, Fairview Park, or Grace Park. They're useful spots for a walk, some fresh air, or a quiet afternoon outside.
You can also keep up with your usual routine without travelling too far. Nearby gyms include Anytime Fitness Hawthorn, BFT Hawthorn, and Chris' Gym Hawthorn.
For general healthcare, Access Health & Community—Hawthorn and Hawthorn Medical are in the area.
If your room feels a little too distracting when exams are coming up, you can change your study setting at Hawthorn Library or the Hawthorn Arts Centre Library Lounge.
For evenings out, local spots such as The KILBURN, Nevermind Bar, and The Elgin give you places to meet friends and take a break from university work.
Vivida makes the most sense if you want your own studio and not a shared flat. You have privacy when you need it, but communal areas and events give you the opportunity to meet other students.
Another practical point is Hawthorn's location. There are places nearby to eat, shop, exercise, and study, and public transport offers several ways to get to other parts of Melbourne.
Student Living – Vivida is a great alternative for those who want the independence of living alone but want to be near other students. Look around at the studios, the prices, and the facilities offered and see which one suits your budget and day-to-day routine before you book.

I’ve had a really positive experience staying at UniLodge Riversdale. The location is one of the biggest advantages, being so close to Swinburne University and within easy walking distance of plenty of great cafés, restaurants, and shops. There are also always fun events and activities happening around the area, which makes living here feel very social and convenient. The staff are friendly, approachable, and always willing to help whenever you need them. I’ve especially appreciated the exceptional after-hours support — knowing that there is someone available to assist outside of regular hours gives you a lot of peace of mind. Overall, it’s a convenient, welcoming, and enjoyable place to live, especially for students studying at Swinburne.

Great place to stay! The staff are very helpful and responsive whenever we have maintenance requests. The location is excellent, with lots of cafes, supermarkets, and train and tram stations nearby. Everything is easily accessible, and I've had a great experience living here.

my room is really spacious and cozy especially with a view of the city skyline. It's also convenient for travelling since its right next to Glenferrie station. Overall it's a solid student accomodation.

Great student accommodation with a fantastic team. The staff are always friendly, cheerful, and efficient, making every interaction easy and pleasant. The décor is a little dated, but the building feels safe and secure. Thank you for the excellent service and support.

The ONLY real benefit of living at unilodge Vivida is the location. Location is great, close to everything, I can’t complain about that. I lived on level 1 of the building, and when I tell you the smell that lingered in the hallway nearly killed me every time I walked to my room, I am not lying. The residents on that level only ever clean when there’s bi-annual inspections. It’s disgusting. Me, and anyone who visited me in the building, choked on the smell it was so disgusting. I was with unilodge for 2 years primarily for the location. Upon moving in there was stains on the walls, pieces of the wall falling apart, it was just dirty. The carpet of my apartment was torn up and pretty disgusting too upon moving in. I had issues with the wifi pretty regularly (that you pay 80+ dollars a month for on top of rent) and had to call the wifi provider myself. I had issues receiving my electricity bills multiple times and the building management weren’t very helpful. One time my building/room key card stopped working and I got locked out of the building, and then was told there was nothing wrong with my card by reception. I had paid my rent up until the end of my lease, and still randomly got sent an invoice for $117. That I had already paid as part of my monthly rent. What if I hadn’t questioned it? There was no explanation as to why I had been asked for an extra 117 dollars. Upon the end of my 2nd year lease, the rent was raised astronomically high for the state of the apartment. More and more money for a shoe box essentially. But the smell of the hallway on that floor was probably the thing that was the absolute worst. Never ever smelt anything so bad in my life.
