Study rooms give a dedicated quiet environment separate from the apartment, which matters for students who find working in a small studio difficult. Whether you use it for individual work or group projects, having a formal study space outside the bedroom is a practical asset in a self-contained studio living setup.
High-speed internet access is included in the rent. Onsite laundry covers the practical weekly need without extra infrastructure. A bike shed with secure storage gives cyclists a reliable option in a suburb where cycling to Prahran, St Kilda, and the inner south is realistic on Melbourne's generally flat terrain.
Security cameras and after-hours emergency staff cover the building around the clock. Long-term parking and secure parking at cost are available with controlled access gates, which is useful for students who arrive in Melbourne with a car rather than relying entirely on public transport. Public transport is close by for the majority who do not drive.
Windsor's main daily infrastructure runs along Chapel Street. The supermarket options within walking distance include IGA Local Grocer Windsor Plus Liquor on Chapel Street, Coles Prahran on Chapel Street, Woolworths Prahran on Wattle Street, and FoodWorks Windsor on Chapel Street. Having four supermarket options within the same street corridor means grocery shopping does not require planning or transport.
The Chapel Street Retail Precinct is effectively on the doorstep. It is Melbourne's most consistently active boutique and fashion retail strip, running from South Yarra through Prahran and Windsor. Pran Central Shopping Centre and the Prahran Market, which runs on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays and focuses on fresh produce and speciality food, are both nearby. The Prahran Market specifically is worth using regularly for fresh groceries at competitive prices.
Windsor and the surrounding area have a dense concentration of independent cafes and restaurants that reflect the character of the inner-south Melbourne food scene. New York Deli Windsor, Kaneffi Windsor, Barbados Slim, and Cafe Journeyman Windsor are the cafe options close by.
For meals, The Railway Hotel Windsor, The Wolf Windsor, East Windsor, Lah Bros Windsor for modern Nepalese food, and Normandy Wine and Grill cover different cuisine options. Pub options include The Railway Hotel Windsor, The Wolf Windsor, La La Land, and The Windsor Alehouse.
Harry Gregory Reserve, Alma Park West, and Gladstone Gardens Playground are the local green spaces for breaks between study sessions. For longer outdoor activity, Albert Park Lake and the Port Melbourne foreshore are a short tram or cycle ride away.
Gyms near the property include Sonny's Gym, Windsor Gym, First Stop Fitness, and Love Athletica Windsor. For healthcare, The Avenue Hospital and Windsor Private Hospital are conveniently located nearby, and Alfred Health at The Alfred Hospital is also accessible. The Alfred is one of Melbourne's major public hospitals and trauma centres, which is worth knowing for any serious medical need. For study resources, Toorak/South Yarra Library and Greville Street Library are both within reach.
Train: Windsor station is a key stop that provides access to major rail networks.
Tram: Tram stops nearby include The Avenue/Dandenong Road stop 34, Punt Road/High Street stop 28, and Chapel Street/High Street stop 31. The tram network from this location connects to St Kilda, the CBD, and inner-north suburbs.
Bus: Bus stops at Chapel Street/Commercial Road, St Kilda Junction/Barkly Street, and Dandenong Road/Hotham Street provide additional route options for destinations not covered directly by tram or train.
The University of Melbourne, Victoria University, and William Angliss Institute Australia are all accessible from Windsor by public transport. The University of Melbourne's Parkville campus involves a train to Flinders Street and then a tram or the Parkville station connection, adding time to the commute compared to Carlton-based PBSA. Students whose courses are specifically at the University of Melbourne should factor this in before choosing Student Living on Raleigh over a Carlton option.
Student accommodation in Melbourne near Raleigh makes most sense for students who want an inner-south Melbourne neighbourhood rather than a campus-adjacent suburb. Windsor is active, has good infrastructure, and sits on the main train network. For students primarily at the University of Melbourne who want the shortest possible campus commute, Carlton or Parkville options will generally be more convenient.
For students who prioritise neighbourhood character and the Chapel Street environment, or who have placements or social reasons to be in the inner south, Student Living near Raleigh, Melbourne at AU$370 per week for a studio gives a self-contained independent living option at a price that sits below equivalent CBD studios.

I’ve been living at UniLodge Raleigh for the past 6 months, and it has been a great experience. The environment is calm, peaceful, and perfect for students. The location is very convenient. Coles, Aldi, Woolworths, and many other shops are within walking distance (~ 1.5 km), or you can easily take the tram. The tram stop is just nearby, with multiple routes (3, 5, 6, 16, 64, 67) providing easy access to the CBD, which is about a 25 min tram ride away. Albert Park is also close by and St Kilda Beach is just a few tram stops away. Maintenance requests and general inquiries are handled promptly, which makes living here hassle free. Akira has been incredibly helpful from the very beginning. The ResLife events are another highlight; there are several events every month, and they’re either free or heavily subsidized by UniLodge. A big thank you to Rachel, Nooman, Devika, and all the other RAs for their support.

One of the worst place that you could stay in during your study, none of their amenities function as stated, the TV I had received was broken, the study desk was entirely chipped out of wood, an airconditioner that sounds like a diesel engine. The bond you deposit also will have surprise deductions, eg the light in my unit stopped working and they have charged me $80 for the light even though I didn't damage it, no evidence provided as well and received an email 2 weeks after I vacated the unit. If you really want to study in peace avoid Unilodge at all costs.

Great events holding by manager Avi. Every month we have different events with plenty of food and beverages. And the location of building is good to me. Silent and not crowded at night. Great experience!

Do not, Do NOT whatever you do, waste your money here. The place is filthy and they'll charge a exorbitant cleaning fee and then rent you an apartment that's only been surfaced cleaned and you'll find stains and grime everywhere. They also will not provide adequate information when you move in. They don't answer emails, there's no help for maintenance. They don't provide the furniture they say they will so you have to buy your own. They don't even check if the aircon works or windows close. They don't care. They just want to rip you off. I can't speak for other unilodge's but on raleigh is terrible. The only benefit is the tram is close by. I would give it zero stars if possible.

I have been working with Nelson Li, and he has been extremely accommodating and helpful to our team when booking in maintenance works. Everything has gone very well, and I cannot recommend him highly enough.
