About this property
University accommodation becomes part of your daily routine very quickly. Where you buy groceries, where you revise before exams, how long it takes to get to lectures, and whether you have somewhere comfortable to come back to at the end of the day all start to matter after the first few weeks.
Causeway View Aberdeen sits on Causewayend, a part of the city that places both the University of Aberdeen and the city centre within easy reach. Room options range from shared flats with en-suite bedrooms to fully self-contained studios and one-bedroom apartments, so residents can choose the amount of privacy that suits them best.
Many students choose Aberdeen Causeway View because it allows them to stay close to campus while still having supermarkets, cafés, bus routes, and everyday essentials nearby.
Address: Causewayend, Aberdeen AB25 3DD, United Kingdom
The area around the building feels very student-focused. A large number of university buildings, local shops, takeaways, cafés, and bus routes sit within walking distance, which makes day-to-day life easier once classes begin.
Many residents use nearby bus services when travelling across Aberdeen, although plenty of destinations can be reached on foot. The University of Aberdeen is nearby, while the city centre is only a short journey away for shopping, restaurants, part-time jobs, and evenings out.
For food and coffee, places such as Al Fresco and The Highlander Café Bus are nearby. Moossh Café Wine Bar and COSMO are popular choices when friends meet up for lunch or dinner after classes.
One of the advantages of living at Causeway View Aberdeen is that most daily errands can be completed without travelling far.
Accommodation becomes much easier to live in when the practical things have already been sorted. Several features continue to attract students to Causeway View year after year.
Close to the University of Aberdeen
Many residents walk or cycle to campus. Shorter commutes can make a noticeable difference during busy teaching weeks, early morning lectures, and exam periods.
Not everyone wants the same type of accommodation.
Some residents prefer an en-suite room within a shared flat because it offers a social environment without sharing a bathroom. Others choose a studio or a one-bedroom apartment because they prefer having their own kitchen and living space.
Bills Included
Rent covers:
That means fewer accounts to organise after moving in.
Shared Facilities
Residents have access to:
These areas become useful throughout the year, particularly during revision periods when many students want a change of environment from their room.
Security Around the Building
The property includes secure entry systems, CCTV coverage, on-site staff, and maintenance support.
For students moving away from home for the first time, those details can provide extra reassurance.
Accommodation at Causeway View Aberdeen includes en-suite rooms, private studios, and one-bedroom apartments.
En-Suite Rooms
Residents have a private bedroom and bathroom while sharing the kitchen and living area with flatmates.
Studio Rooms
Studios include a private kitchen, bathroom, study space, and sleeping area within one self-contained room.
One-Bed Apartment
This option includes a separate bedroom and living area, offering more space than a standard studio.
Student routines rarely stay the same throughout the academic year.
Some evenings revolve around coursework and deadlines. Others involve meeting friends, heading to the gym, or spending a few hours away from campus after lectures.
The facilities at Causeway View accommodation reflect those everyday routines.
What's Included in the Rent?
Your weekly rent covers:
Having those costs bundled into one payment makes budgeting much easier during the academic year.
One of the key advantages of Causeway View is its convenient location within the city, making daily student life much easier. As a well-connected student accommodation Aberdeen option, it allows residents to reach university buildings, libraries, and campus facilities without spending excessive time commuting, leaving more time for studying and enjoying student life.
University of Aberdeen
The University of Aberdeen sits closest to the property.
Many residents walk, cycle, or use local bus services depending on where their classes are scheduled. Being relatively close to the university also makes it easier to head back to your room between lectures rather than spending the entire day on campus.
Robert Gordon University
Robert Gordon University campuses are located further south of the city.
Bus routes connect this part of Aberdeen with the Garthdee area throughout the day, making travel manageable for students studying at RGU.
Not everyone wants the same accommodation setup.
Some students prefer a smaller flat with only a couple of flatmates. Others enjoy living in a larger student community where meeting people happens naturally through shared kitchens, study spaces, and communal areas.
Halls Causeway View combines both approaches reasonably well. Residents can choose between en-suite rooms within shared flats or more private studio options while still having access to communal facilities around the building.
The atmosphere tends to suit students who like having people around without feeling as though they are living in a large university dormitory. Shared spaces create opportunities to meet others, while private rooms still give you somewhere quiet when coursework deadlines start piling up.
For students moving to Aberdeen for the first time, that balance can make settling into a new city feel much easier.
Different room types attract different kinds of residents, but a few patterns appear regularly at Aberdeen Causeway View.
University of Aberdeen Students
The distance to campus makes the property particularly popular with students studying at King's College, Forester Hill, and other University of Aberdeen locations.
Students Who Want Bills Included
Rent covers:
Having those costs bundled together means there is less admin to deal with after moving in.
Students Who Like Shared Facilities
The building includes:
Some residents use these spaces every day, while others simply like having somewhere different to sit when they want a break from their room.
Students Deciding Between Shared and Private Living
Causeway View accommodation includes both en-suite rooms and studios. An en-suite room works well for people who enjoy sharing a kitchen with others. Studio rooms usually appeal to those who prefer having their own cooking and living space.
Students New to Aberdeen
Moving to a new city can feel quite different during the first few weeks of university. Having accommodation with on-site staff, security measures, and a large student population can make that adjustment easier.

Causeway looks good and is central to city and uni but please do not do this to yaself. Leaks, power cuts, mould, flies everywhere, bad attitudes, things breaking down, nothing getting fixed, locked out of your room almost daily, when you complain everything is your fault. Recent change in ownership was horrendous. Staff look sad and depleted and are sometimes very rude. Worse now more friendly and approachable staff have left this year. We had a guy who was very nice, always remembering your name and taking genuine interest in your life, but he left recently. They used to do alot of competitions on Instagram that were creative and engaging but there is nothing now. Its all very inconsistent. All we get is rent reminders that are not even correct, and when you try and pay rent its an unnecessary challenge!!! I would advise all students to seek your accommodation elsewhere. Its just an unnecessary stress and strain on an already stressful existence. Avoid at all costs.

My review was too long to post, therefore to read it please view the photos attached.

I would not recommend Causeway View and I would strongly recommend future students look carefully at other options before signing here, especially considering how expensive it is for what tenants actually receive. Throughout my tenancy there were repeated administrative failures, poor communication, and ongoing issues that were never properly resolved despite being raised multiple times in person and by email. One of the biggest issues was the payment system. After the accommodation transferred from Unite Students to Homes for Students, the handover was clearly badly managed. Staff themselves repeatedly admitted this and said that students who booked under Unite were all experiencing issues. Despite this, tenants were never properly informed about changes to payment systems, accounts, or access. A rent payment I made temporarily went missing during this period, and staff could not tell me where the money was or whether it had been allocated correctly. After that, the official Kliq payment app did not work properly for months. I repeatedly reported this both in person and over the phone, including staff members physically trying and failing to log in themselves, but nothing was fixed, and I am still waiting for the follow up email despite these issues being raised last year. Reception responses were often unhelpful despite most staff being friendly on a personal level. On one occasion, while trying to resolve the ongoing Kliq/payment issue, a staff member was particularly dismissive, rolling his eyes, blaming the “bad handover,” and telling me to “just leave it with them.” I had already raised the issue multiple times politely and was simply trying to access a functioning payment system. Nothing was followed up afterward There were also issues affecting basic safety and access. My keycards suddenly “expired” during an active tenancy with no warning, leaving me locked out of both the building and flat during severe winter weather and snow warnings in Aberdeen. (This happened three times, and to my flatmates too).No apology or explanation was given. Maintenance and communication around repairs were also poor at times. In one case, our kitchen lost power, shutting off the fridge and freezer, and the initial response from staff was essentially that they were unsure how to deal with it and we might need to wait until Monday. In another instance, I reported a broken toilet and still had no working toilet the following day. After having to chase the issue up myself, I was eventually told they didn't have a replacement part, saying they ''would work something out'', but nobody had communicated this to me beforehand. The recurring issue was not just delays themselves, but the lack of communication and the expectation that tenants would repeatedly follow up for updates on essential maintenance problems. To be fair, the rooms themselves are modern and look nice initially, and the location is convenient for Aberdeen University students. However, I found the rooms got dusty extremely quickly and needed constant cleaning, with surfaces seeming dusty again almost immediately. The most frustrating part is reading the replies to other reviews that mention issues, where management responses constantly say to contact reception/front desk, but many of these issues HAD already been repeatedly reported through the proper channels with little to no resolution. Overall, the accommodation was extremely poor value for money and caused unnecessary stress throughout the tenancy.

Not as bad as some of these reviews. Yes the move from Unite to HFS was a bit of a mess and some of the things happening is a bit sketchy. I really don't why they would get rid of Joe he made the place actually really good to be. He was a really nice guy who really seemed to care about us as people and the accommodations. The place without him is a bit quiet. he always had good vibes and always smiling. We miss him actually. Staff are good though. Hanna and another i cannot recall her name. Regular events like sports and movies. But i would not be staying after this year as i had problems with wifi and heating. Fixing stuff is also very slow and things at times just dont get fixed at all. But the place is very cool - very close to city centre and Abdn Uni. People giving 1 stars for this place is very very very low and i do not see the point in leaving such a low review.
