I went here for a small vacation in Dublin with my mum. The bedrooms are small, but we spent a very little time in it, so it wasn’t a problem. The shared rooms are really pretty and quiet (maybe because we went here in July). The staff is always available and it’s composed by very nice and kind people. The only thing that we didn’t like was the smell of food in the kitchen that is quite strong, but it’s easy to solve it. In conclusion, if you want to go for a trip in Dublin and you need a place to sleep that is well connected with the means of transport, we recommend it!

The service was very good and friendly. They were very helpful all the time. And the whole Hotel was very clean. The size of the beds were way too small for 2 person. And there was only 1 towel for every person and none for the hands. The contact before check in was annoying. I got a lot of messages to do the check in or the whole reservation would be canceled. And I already did the online check in.

Pros Location: It’s around a 20-25 minute walk from Dublin City center. It’s right next to multiple bus routes that goes all around. Very close to Thomas St that has a bunch of nice pubs, cafes, shops, etc. Overall a pretty safe feeling area. As a woman, I felt safe to walk around at night (maybe not super late at night). One con about the location is that there’s a lot of construction happening currently, so sometimes things can be very loud, but personally I’m not too bothered by it. Staff: Renata at reception (although I think she moved to another aparto location) is really great. Super friendly, kind, and helpful. Most other staff on-site as well are very easy to talk to and helpful. Cons Lack of privacy: The walls are incredibly thin. Like incredibly so. You will be able to hear the person in the room next to you if they even so much as slightly shift in bed. It kind of gives a sense that you’re being observed all the time, since everything you do in your room, your neighbor will be able to hear. I had experienced this in some other student accommodations, but this was really the worst of it. Fire alarm: Now, I’m not really sure about the reasoning for this. The fire alarm goes off all the time. I’d say it probably averages out to once or twice a week. One time, it went off for about an hour and twenty minutes before anyone turned it off. The management maintains that the fire system is all working properly, and maybe it is, but it’s wild to me that it goes off this much. I’ve lived in many apartment buildings, and never had a fire alarm go off this much. Furthermore, it’s unclear if management is following up with the tenants who make the fire alarm go off. Every time it goes off, we’re reminded not to smoke or burn incense in the rooms, which seem to be the two things that management say is causing the alarm to go off, as well as improper cooking. No 24/7 reception: This is usually fine, but there are times where it’s extremely frustrating. The loom is a pretty expensive student accommodation. It seems like they could certainly make room in the budget for 24/7 reception. Right now, reception only comes in on weekdays (maybe on Saturdays too) from 9-5. If you’re working, these hours are terribly inconvenient. This makes it difficult to receive or pick up packages at late hours. Also, when the fire alarm goes off, there’s sometimes no one on site to turn it off. Aparto has employed someone who lives here as a fire warden, but sometimes she is out and about, and is unable to turn it off. When this happens, we are told to call Keyguard, the contract security company which the loom employs, but they can take a long time to come. Small rooms: The rooms are quite small for the price you’re paying. Basically if you don’t get the studio option, you will have little room. It should be fine if you don’t spend much time in your room, or you won’t ever have someone staying with you. I had a couple friends stay with me while I was at the Loom, and it’s very difficult to move around the room when two people are staying in it. You can find other accommodations that have bigger rooms for the same or lower prices. Room collects dust: This is kind of strange. The rooms collect dust so, so easily. You will constantly be finding little piles of dust and weird crumbs all over your room. I thought this was just my room at first, but after speaking to my flatmates, as well as other tenants at the loom, this seems to happen in every room. I think it’s because of the lack of airflow. If you are an especially clean person, this could be very aggravating. Just something to keep in mind. Overall: A lot of the good things you can find at the Loom, you can find at other student accommodations. There are a lot of student accommodations in the liberties, many of which that cost less than the Loom. If you’re in a pinch for accommodation, or only want something for the short term, the Loom isn’t the worst of the worst, but it certainly has its issues. In my opinion, the Loom is not worth the price. I won't stay here again.

I’ve been here for over 2 months and so far I’ve had an amazing experience. The staff are always there to help and so friendly. Renata and Craig especially are so nice to talk to! A lovely environment and the accommodation is well taken care of. Highly recommend!

It's one of the newest student accommodations in Dublin. Everything is new and clean, and if you have any issues, you can contact the team and they will help you to solve anything they can! It's like having an extended family! It's actually an amazing experience for students staying here.
