I had a wonderful experience staying at Curraheen Point in Cork as an international student. Moving away from home can be challenging, but the welcoming and supportive environment here made the transition much easier. A special thanks to the Manager Sanda, who was always kind, approachable, and incredibly helpful throughout my stay. She genuinely cares about the residents and was always available whenever I needed assistance. Her warmth and dedication made me feel comfortable, supported, and at home, even while being far away from my family. I highly recommend Curraheen Point to any student looking for safe, comfortable, and well-managed accommodation in Cork and a chic place to live in.

The noise levels of the accomodation are very good! Its pretty peaceful and quiet, the area is very peaceful as well. The maintenance is very good I Have not had any problems that have not been resolved promptly. The space is clean, you are responsible for keeping the kitchen area clean and sweeping the hallway, but have never had any problems with that, I just take turns with my roommates and everything has been good. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, they really are the best part apart from my lovely roommates!

Living at Nido Curraheen Point has been a very positive experience for me, and I would definitely recommend it to others. The apartments are clean, well-maintained, and hygienic, and the common areas are tidy and easy to use. Maintenance requests are handled efficiently, and the staff are friendly and approachable, so any minor issues are resolved quickly. In terms of noise and disturbances, I have generally found the environment to be peaceful and comfortable for studying or relaxing. The management team does a great job maintaining a respectful community atmosphere among residents. Overall, it's a safe, welcoming, and well-managed accommodation. That friendly staff, especially Sanda and Jamie, go above and beyond to support residents, making it not just a place to live but a place where you feel at home. I think it's a great choice for anyone looking for a supportive and comfortable living environment in Cork.

Let me begin with the positive aspects: the receptionist (assistant to the manager) was very friendly and helpful. The location is also acceptable – a taxi ride to the city center costs about €10, and the nearest bus stop is just a six-minute walk away. Unfortunately, there are several serious issues that prevent me from recommending this accommodation or staying here again. Cleanliness: The apartment was not properly cleaned. The shower unit was dirty, as was the rest of the apartment. There were hairs in the shower, sticky stains on the bed (which I’d rather not speculate about), mold in the freezer, a filthy oven, and a foul-smelling vacuum cleaner in the room. Condition of the Apartment: When we entered the apartment, we wanted to air it out – the left window could technically be opened, but the blind was installed so low that it blocked the window. Ventilation was therefore not possible. While trying to darken the room, the blind came off the ceiling. This issue was fixed by the maintenance staff the next day, but the chain broke just one day later, so the room has been completely dark since. The freezer compartment couldn’t be opened because the handle was broken off. The maintenance person came the next day but couldn’t provide a solution – we were told to use a spoon to pry it open for the next two weeks. Thank you very much for that helpful advice. The oven is hardly usable, as the fuse trips every five minutes when trying to bake something as simple as a pizza. Strangely, there are two microwaves in the room – one functional, and one just sitting on top of a cabinet, taking up space. Service: We’re paying about €1,000 for 14 days, which would be acceptable for student accommodation – if basic standards were met. From experience, we expected at least one set of fresh towels and a cleaning of the toilet and shower during such a stay. None of that happened. Instead, I received a message at 12:30 a.m. saying that fresh towels are only available for an extra charge. Noise Levels: Apparently, there is no night receptionist or security on site. On the night of July 9th to 10th, there was a loud party that went on from 11:00 p.m. until 6:30 a.m. People were talking and laughing loudly the entire night, and sleeping was impossible. If the noise continues like this tonight, I will have no choice but to call the police. In general, the accommodation is quite noisy. The airplanes flying overhead from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. don’t help either. Due to the heat, we’re forced to leave the window tilted open, which makes the noise even worse.

It is in an estate so it is very quiet. It is close to the main hospital- the Cork University Hospital. It is 15 min walk from there. It is also a 15 min walk from the UCC Western Gateway Building and a 17 min walk to the Mardyke Sports Centre. It is near campus accommodations so you can visit any friends there. Unfortunately it is a bit far from grocery shops. The accommodation itself is good but there is no gym. The bedroom and kitchen size are good but toilets are a bit small and the water power is a bit weak.
