Finding student accommodation in Sydney Parramatta is partly about getting the room right and partly about making sure the location works once university life becomes a daily routine. Western Sydney University Village Parramatta Campus puts students in Parramatta, close to university facilities and within reach of public transport, supermarkets, places to eat, and spaces to spend time outside studying.
Located on Victoria Road in Parramatta, the village is set up around shared student living, with several apartment configurations alongside studio accommodation. The range starts with private studios and continues through larger shared apartments, including premium versions of several room types. That gives students some flexibility around how much privacy they want and how they intend to divide their weekly accommodation budget.
There is also quite a bit happening within the property itself. Study support and wellbeing activities sit alongside communal spaces, organised events, and recreational facilities, while practical services such as laundry, maintenance, and on-site management take care of some of the less interesting parts of living away from home.
For students searching for Western Sydney University Village Parramatta Campus or Western Sydney University Village-Parramatta Campus, the location is particularly relevant because of its connection with Western Sydney University. At the same time, Parramatta's transport network makes it possible to travel beyond the immediate campus area and reach other parts of Sydney.
A student residence has to accommodate different routines. One person might want to keep to themselves and spend most evenings studying, while another may prefer a shared apartment where there is usually someone around. Western Sydney University Village Parramatta Campus has room types covering both ends of that spectrum.
The accommodation includes private studios as well as shared apartments with two, four, five, six, and eight bedrooms. Several of the larger apartment categories are also available in premium versions, so students have more than one shared-living arrangement to compare.
The property is also built around communal student life. The shared spaces and scheduled activities give residents opportunities to meet people outside their own apartment, while the study and wellbeing facilities recognize that university accommodation still has to support the academic side of the week.
The available accommodation includes:
Studio Apartments: Private accommodation from AUD 420.0 a week, perfect for students who want their own space.
Two Bedrooms: Shared starting at AUD 406.0 per week, perfect for students who want to live with someone else.
Premium Four Bedrooms: Shared arrangement from AUD 381.0 / week with private bedrooms and shared living areas.
Five Bedrooms: From AUD 341.0/week, larger shared arrangement
Premium Five Bedrooms: Starting at AUD 361.0 per week, another five-bedroom option at a different price bracket.
Six Bedrooms: From AUD 330.0 per week, for students who don’t mind sharing with a larger household.
Premium 6 Bedrooms $350.0 per week - AUD
Eight Bedrooms: Starting at AUD 305.0 per week, the lowest starting price of all accommodation types mentioned.
Premium Eight Bedroom: from AUD 327.0 a week, a premium version of the larger shared arrangement.
The many pricing options allow students to choose privacy or community living based on their financial needs. The larger apartments also have lower quoted beginning pricing than the studio, but the downside is more inhabitants in shared spaces.
The weekly rent includes the essential utilities students need for day-to-day living:
Wi-Fi
Water
Gas
Electricity
Having these costs covered as part of the rent removes the need to manage separate utility bills for each service. It also gives students a clearer picture of their regular accommodation expenses, which can be useful when planning a weekly budget around tuition, food, transport, and other university costs.
For students arriving in Parramatta from another part of Australia, or moving to Sydney from overseas, having the utilities already included also means fewer household arrangements to deal with during the initial move.
There is more to Western Sydney University Village Parramatta Campus than the individual apartment. The property provides spaces and activities aimed at different parts of student life, from academic support and physical activity to social events and everyday services.
The facilities are spread across study, wellbeing, recreation, community activities, security and practical support, giving residents several reasons to make use of the shared areas rather than spending all their time inside their own rooms.
Sometimes coursework can become very challenging at university, and having support available in the housing at those times might be helpful. The village offers opportunities for students to engage in activities that support their academic needs and personal welfare.
The swimming pool is also available for tenants if they want to take a break from studies. “It gives you the option to exercise or just get away from a desk for a bit.
The combination of academic support and recreation reflects the varied demands of student life. There is room to concentrate while there is work to be done, but there is also room to move away from it later.
Shared accommodation can be a good way to meet people, but having organized activities gives residents additional opportunities to interact beyond their immediate housemates.
Students at the village can take part in:
Games Room: A shared place for casual games and hanging out with friends.
Barbecue (BBQ) Area: An outdoor area appropriate for shared meals and gatherings.
On-site events: Ongoing programming for residents and the greater village community.
Cooking Classes: Recipes and hands-on cooking skills.
DIY Workshops: Workshops on practical skills, making and producing.
Cultural Food Nights: Events including different types of cuisine and cultural events.
Trivia Nights: Casual quiz nights where residents can compete and socialize.
These activities give the village a social dimension that is more than just sharing a flat. Residents can take a cooking class or trivia night, visit the Games Room, or meet other students at a BBQ without having to prepare everything themselves.
Security provisions are also part of the accommodation setup. The property has:
CCTV
Secure Door Entry
These features provide controlled access to the accommodation and surveillance around the property, giving residents additional security arrangements as part of their everyday living environment.
Several on-site services are there to deal with the practical side of student accommodation.
Breakfast: Provides a convenient breakfast option for students starting the day early.
On-site Maintenance: Helps address maintenance issues within the accommodation.
On-site Laundry: Allows residents to handle their washing without finding an external laundromat.
On-site Management: Provides a point of contact for resident queries and accommodation-related support.
These services cover small but regular parts of student life. Having laundry, maintenance, and management handled within the property can save residents from having to make separate arrangements whenever an everyday issue comes up.
The village is located on Victoria Road, Parramatta, placing students within one of Western Sydney's major urban centers. Parramatta has its own collection of shops, restaurants, cafés, parks, and public services, while its transport connections make the suburb useful as a base for travelling elsewhere across Sydney.
For students, the location means that university and everyday life do not have to be treated as separate journeys. Groceries, meals, shopping, recreation, and study resources are all available around the area, with several transport modes providing connections further afield.
Parramatta has a range of public transport options, giving students several ways to travel around the suburb and beyond.
Nearby bus stops include those around:
Collett Park
Victoria Rd
Pennant St
These stops provide bus connections through Parramatta and the surrounding areas, giving students an alternative to rail when travelling locally or towards destinations not directly served by the train network.
Parramatta Railway Station is a major transport hub, making it particularly useful for students who need to travel further across Sydney. From the station, students can connect with the wider rail network rather than relying only on local buses.
Yallamundi Light Rail station provides another public transport option in the area. The light rail adds another way for students to travel around Parramatta and connect with other parts of the local network.
For a different kind of journey, Parramatta Wharf provides ferry services. It can be used for travel as well as for a more leisurely trip along the river, depending on the student's destination and plans.
Living in Parramatta means students have plenty of options for food shopping and eating out. Several supermarkets are nearby, while cafés and restaurants provide choices for everything from a morning coffee to a meal with friends.
For groceries and household essentials, students can visit:
Coles Parramatta
Woolworths Parramatta (Westfield)
Tong Li Supermarket
Tong Li Supermarket, located within Westfield Parramatta, gives students another grocery option, particularly for Asian ingredients and products.
Students looking for somewhere to start the day with coffee can visit local cafés such as:
Circa Espresso
Beans and Barrels Cafe
These provide alternatives to grabbing breakfast or coffee directly around the university environment.
Parramatta's dining scene offers a broad range of food, including:
The Naked Duck
Ruse Bar & Brasserie
Restaurant 317
Whether students are looking for a casual meal or somewhere to sit down with friends, the surrounding area provides several choices.
For a pub meal or a casual evening out, students can consider:
Rose & Crown Hotel
The Albion Hotel
Both give residents options for socializing outside the university and accommodation environment.
Parramatta gives students plenty of options once the weekly routine moves beyond lectures and assignments. Shopping centers provide places to pick up clothes, groceries, and everyday items, while the parks around the suburb offer a quieter change of setting when students want some time outdoors.
Westfield Parramatta is the main shopping destination. It is a large retail complex with hundreds of stores, along with a cinema and a range of places to eat.
For students living at Western Sydney University Village Parramatta Campus, having a major shopping center nearby can be useful for more than occasional shopping trips. It can also cover practical errands, entertainment, and meals in one place.
For students looking to escape the built-up areas of the suburb, there are various green spots around Parramatta.
Collett Park: a local green spot, excellent for a brief walk or a peaceful break.
Parramatta Park: This is a considerably larger park where students can spend time outside and have a longer walk.
Lake Parramatta Reserve: Another chance to get away from the regular city life and enjoy a more natural setting.
These areas provide students with opportunities to be outdoors when they need a break from their typical study pattern.
Libraries
Students who need to study elsewhere will be able to access facilities at the local library. The choices provided are:
Parramatta Library PHIVE
Western Sydney University
Parramatta City Campus Library Hub
The latter is especially useful for students at Western Sydney University, while the Parramatta Library at PHIVE offers another location to acquire study resources and work away from the lodging.
Students who want to maintain a regular fitness routine can consider nearby options such as:
The Yard Gym Parramatta
Strive Fitness
These external facilities provide alternatives for students who would rather use a dedicated gym outside the accommodation.
The name of the property is a direct reflection of the university affiliation. Western Sydney University Village is located within easy reach for students studying at Western Sydney University, making the daily commute to university amenities easier for those studying there.
Students from other Sydney schools may also use the property as a base, but travel will depend on their university's location and chosen transport.
The other universities and educational institutions are:
Students attending these institutions can make use of Parramatta's bus and rail connections when travelling outside the immediate area. The property therefore has relevance beyond students enrolled at Western Sydney University, although the convenience of the location will vary according to each institution's campus.
Choosing student accommodation usually involves looking at several things together rather than focusing on the room alone. Weekly rent, the type of apartment, included bills, facilities, transport, and the neighborhood all affect what day-to-day life will actually look like. Western Sydney University Village Parramatta Campus brings each of these elements into the same student-living setup.
The accommodation has a particularly broad selection of shared apartment sizes. Students can choose a private studio apartment for AUD 420.0 per week, while shared options begin at lower weekly prices. The listed starting prices are AUD 406.0 for two bedrooms, AUD 381.0 for premium four bedrooms, AUD 341.0 for five bedrooms, AUD 361.0 for premium five bedrooms, AUD 330.0 for six bedrooms, AUD 350.0 for premium six bedrooms, AUD 305.0 for eight bedrooms, and AUD 327.0 for premium eight bedrooms.
That range gives students different ways to approach their accommodation budget. A student who values having a private room can consider the studio, while someone comfortable with shared living can look at the larger apartments and compare the different standard and premium configurations.
The rent also includes Wi-Fi, water, gas, and electricity. Having these utilities covered means residents do not have to manage separate bills for each service, which can make weekly budgeting easier while studying.
There is plenty happening within the property as well. Study Support & Wellbeing Activities provide support around the academic and personal sides of university life, while the swimming pool offers somewhere to exercise or take a break. The Games Room and BBQ Area create shared spaces for residents, and the program of On-site Events, Cooking Classes, DIY Workshops, Cultural Food Nights, and Trivia Nights gives students regular opportunities to meet other people living in the village.
Some of the facilities are simply there to make everyday life less complicated. Grab & Go Breakfast provides a convenient food option at the start of the day, while On-site Laundry takes care of one of the regular chores that comes with living independently. On-site maintenance and on-site management provide practical support when residents need assistance with the accommodation.
Security is covered through CCTV and Secure Door Entry, giving residents controlled access to the property and surveillance as part of the accommodation's security arrangements.
The nearby Parramatta area provides another element to living. Groceries: Students can use Coles Parramatta, Woolworths Parramatta (Westfield), and Tong Li Supermarket. There are coffee options nearby, such as Circa Espresso and Beans and Barrels Cafe, while restaurants such as The Naked Duck, Ruse Bar & Brasserie, and Restaurant 317 provide locations for students to eat outside the housing.
And there are plenty of choices when the day’s practical errands are over. Westfield Parramatta has a wide variety of retail establishments, a cinema, and places to eat. Collett Park, Parramatta Park, and Lake Parramatta Reserve offer outdoor locations for students to spend time in, while Parramatta Library at PHIVE and the Western Sydney University - Parramatta City Campus Library Hub provide further study environments.
Nearby fitness choices include The Yard Gym Parramatta and Strive Fitness, with the Rose & Crown Hotel and The Albion Hotel offering a more relaxed social scene for students.
Transport is another matter. Local links are available at bus stops near Collett Park, Victoria Road, and Pennant Street. Parramatta railway station is an important transit hub. Yallamundi Light Rail station offers another option, while Parramatta Wharf has boat services for trips along the river.
For students attending Western Sydney University, the campus connection is the most direct part of the location. Students studying at other institutions, including the University of Sydney, University of Technology Sydney, University of Notre Dame, and Australian Film, Television and Radio School, can use the area's public transport network for their commutes.
Taken together, the accommodation provides a fairly broad student-living setup: several apartment sizes, utilities included in rent, organised community activities, practical on-site services, and a Parramatta location with transport and everyday amenities nearby.
For students comparing Western Sydney University Village- Parramatta campus with other accommodation options, the details that matter most will ultimately depend on their preferred room arrangement, budget, and university commute. .

Great place for students to live. The university is only a 2-minute ride away on the shuttle bus, and there is a public bus stop conveniently located right outside the village. One of the best parts of living here was the opportunity to make friends from all over the world, which feels quite rare these days. In fact, I made more friends at the village than at university. Several of my classmates also lived here, which made it very convenient for us to work on group projects together. The study area is next to the reception, although it is a little small, it is convenient .I often use the university library instead, as it offers much more space for studying. The reception staff are lovely, friendly, and always willing to help. Reception is open until late, which is very convenient. I also enjoyed the events organised each week. The chaplaincy dinners and Red-Frog dinners are particularly popular and provide a great way to meet people. While the building itself looks a little dated from the outside, most of the rooms have been renovated and are quite modern and comfortable. The premium rooms include air conditioning and are noticeably better than the standard rooms. Overall, the village is safe, well located, and offers a supportive community. The staff are extremely helpful, but what I value most is the lifelong friendships I made here. Many of the friends I met during my stay helped me through my university years, and I am still in touch with them today.

The village staff are friendly and always helpful. Weekly social events also happen. This helps students connect with residents from different countries. The village is very close to Parramatta South Campus, within walking distance. There is also a free WSU shuttle bus to Parramatta South and Parramatta City Campus. It is really nice student dorm to start university life!

This this accommodation is good for students that are studying in Australia. They have 24/7 staff available. Students are treated as adults helping them to become more independent, making them ready for the real world experience. Definitely recommend this place for international students.

Great location for students! It’s only a 7-minute walk to campus, and the free shuttle service to the university and Parramatta CBD is a huge plus. Super convenient with bus stops nearby and plenty of parking if you drive.
Barry Haller
I love that they provide free breakfast and dinner for students! They also host different events every month, which is a great way to meet and get along with other residents. Plus, having 24/7 security is a huge bonus.
