South Brisbane puts students close to some of the city's major cultural, dining and transport precincts, while still offering plenty of places to study, shop and spend time outdoors. Scape Tribune is located at 60 Tribune Street, South Brisbane, QLD 4101, placing its residents in the middle of that mix.
The property is purpose-built for student living, with private studios at one end of the accommodation options and shared apartments at the other. There are also dedicated study rooms, communal areas, a gym, on-site laundry and bike storage. Security features are also built into the property, including 24-hour security, Secure Door Entry, On-Site Security, CCTV and the Sonder Safety App.
For domestic students already familiar with Brisbane and international students settling into the city for the first time, Scape Tribune Brisbane offers a student-focused place to live, with the wider South Brisbane neighbourhood immediately around it.
The Scape Tribune address is 60 Tribune Street, South Brisbane, QLD 4101. Its South Brisbane setting places residents close to public transport, supermarkets, restaurants, parks, healthcare services and South Bank's wider collection of student-orientated amenities.
For students specifically searching for Scape Tribune, Scape Tribune Brisbane or accommodation around South Bank, the address is an important reference point when comparing the residence with other properties in the area.
Scape Tribune therefore combines several accommodation formats with included utilities, dedicated study areas, social facilities, fitness provisions, security measures and access to the wider South Brisbane area. The choice between its studios, apartments and twin rooms ultimately depends on the student's preferred level of privacy, budget and approach to shared living.
At Scape Tribune, students enjoy a mixture of private living space and shared facilities. Students who want greater independence can choose a self-contained Ultra Studio, while shared apartments and twin accommodation provide a more communal setup.
The shared areas are a substantial part of the property. Study Rooms and a Study Lounge provide places for academic work, while Social Spaces, a Lounge Area, a Games Room and a Cinema Room cover the less academic parts of the week. On-site events also give residents opportunities to meet other students living in the building.
Outside the property, the South Brisbane location adds another layer to everyday life. Public transport, supermarkets, restaurants, cafés, parks, healthcare facilities and entertainment venues all surround the accommodation.
The room selection at Scape Tribune South Bank includes private studio options, shared apartments and twin rooms. The starting prices are:

The source does not provide individual room dimensions, detailed apartment layouts or specific bedroom configurations beyond the room names given above. Those details should be confirmed for the particular option before booking.
The facilities at Scape Tribune are spread across academic spaces, communal areas, fitness and practical services. The property gives residents places to work, relax and spend time with other students without requiring every activity to happen inside their individual room.
When coursework needs a quieter setting, residents can use the dedicated study rooms or study lounge. These areas provide alternatives to studying inside a bedroom or apartment and can be used for individual work as well as group projects.
When study time is over, there are many common areas for residents:
Social spaces: Areas to share with other residents, get to know one another, and spend time together.
Lounge Area: An area for more casual chat and breaks.
Games Room: Where you can play games with your friends.
Cinema space: A space for viewing films and movie evenings.
On-Site Events: Group events that enable residents to meet other residents and participate in the community.
Therefore, the house has many different social rooms rather than one general-purpose common room.
There is a gym in the building where tenants can work out without leaving the lodging. Students can incorporate it into their normal routine without having to go to a different fitness centre each time.
We have on-site laundry facilities for all of your common home needs. Bike Storage provides a dedicated space for residents who ride bicycles throughout Brisbane.
The rent at Scape Tribune includes the essential bills:
Wifi
Water Bill
Heating Bill
Gas Bill

These inclusions bring the listed utilities into the accommodation payment, giving residents a clearer set of recurring housing costs.

24-hour security
Secure Door Entry
On-Site Security
CCTV
Sonder Safety App
The combination covers controlled access, surveillance and on-site security, while the Sonder Safety App provides an additional safety resource for residents.
The Scape Tribune address at 60 Tribune Street places the property in South Brisbane, an area closely associated with Brisbane's cultural attractions, riverside precincts, restaurants and public transport connections.
Its position also means residents have access to the wider South Bank area without needing to travel far for everyday requirements. The neighbourhood has supermarkets, shopping areas, cafés, restaurants, green spaces, medical facilities, external gyms, pubs and libraries.
Several forms of public transport are available near Scape Tribune.
Nearby bus stops include:
Dorchester St at Somerville House, Stop 5
Gladstone Rd at Dorchester Street, Stop 8
South Bank Busway Station, Platform 4
For rail travel, South Brisbane Station provides train services and connections to other parts of the city.
Residents can also use Brisbane's river transport network from nearby ferry terminals, including:
South Bank Ferry Terminal
Maritime Museum Ferry Terminal
QUT Gardens Point Ferry Terminal
The CityCat network provides a different way to travel around Brisbane, particularly for journeys along the river.
Scape Tribune: Student Life, Location and Nearby Universities
Scape Tribune puts students close to several higher-education institutions across Brisbane and the surrounding area. The location is particularly relevant for students attending universities in and around the city, with the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), University of Sydney, Raffles College of Design and Commerce, University of Notre Dame, Western Sydney University, and William Angliss Institute Australia included among the universities associated with the accommodation's wider student network.
For students comparing Scape Tribune Brisbane with other accommodation options, the university connections are worth considering alongside the room types, facilities and transport options. The property provides a student-focused base in South Brisbane, while the area's public transport network makes it possible to travel beyond the immediate neighbourhood for classes and other university commitments.
Choosing student accommodation in Brisbane usually involves more than comparing weekly rent. Room configuration, included utilities, study areas, shared facilities, security and access to transport all affect what everyday life will look like. Scape Tribune brings these elements together within one student residence, with several accommodation formats ranging from private studios to larger shared apartments.
The room selection covers different budgets and living preferences. Students looking for a private setup can consider the Ultra Studio options, while the four-, five- and six-bed apartments provide shared living arrangements. The two twin-room formats also create a lower-cost option for students who are comfortable sharing their accommodation.
The weekly prices for the property are:
|

AUD 279/week |
|
Twin Bunk in 8-Bed Apartment |

These prices should be considered alongside what is included in the rent. Wi-Fi, water, heating, gas and electricity are included, so the accommodation cost already accounts for several regular household utilities.
The shared facilities also give residents places to study and spend time outside their rooms. Study Rooms and a Study Lounge provide dedicated areas for academic work, while the Social Spaces, Lounge Area and Games Room create options for spending time with other residents. The cinema room and on-site events add further communal activities without requiring students to leave the residence.
Fitness facilities are available through the on-site gym, while the on-site laundry takes care of a routine necessity. Bike storage is also available for residents who cycle around South Brisbane or use a bicycle as part of their regular travel.
Security is another part of the accommodation setup. Scape Tribune has 24-hour security, Secure Door Entry, On-Site Security, CCTV and the Sonder Safety App. These facilities form part of the residence's wider approach to access and resident safety.
Transport is one of the useful aspects of the Scape Tribune South Bank location. Several bus stops serve the surrounding streets, including Dorchester St at Somerville House Stop 5, Gladstone Rd at Dorchester St Stop 8 and South Bank Busway Platform 4. These provide connections for students travelling around Brisbane for university, shopping, work or leisure.
South Brisbane Station is another important transport point nearby. Students can also make use of ferry services from South Bank Ferry Terminal, Maritime Museum Ferry Terminal and QUT Gardens Point Ferry Terminal, giving the area several options beyond road-based public transport.
The presence of multiple transport modes is useful for students whose routines extend beyond South Brisbane. Rather than relying on one station or one bus route, residents have access to rail, bus and ferry connections around the neighbourhood.
Everyday shopping is straightforward, with several supermarkets and convenience stores serving the surrounding area. IGA Local Grocer South Brisbane, Woolworths Metro Fish Lane, EzyMart Grey Street, Woolworths Metro Southpoint and Coles West End cover regular grocery and convenience requirements.
For larger shopping trips, residents can visit Southpoint South Bank, Queen Street Mall and MacArthur Central. These destinations extend the range of retail, food and everyday services available within the wider Brisbane CBD and South Bank area.
That mix gives students a choice between picking up a few essentials close to home and making a larger shopping trip when required. It also means residents are not dependent on the facilities inside the accommodation for routine purchases.
South Brisbane has a broad selection of places to eat, with options ranging from casual meals to sit-down dining. Nearby restaurants listed for residents include Southside, Como, Calida Argentinian, Naga Thai and River Quay Fish.
Coffee and lighter food are also easy to work into the day. Coffee Head Co., Lisboa Caffe and Cordelia Sourdough is among the nearby café options, giving students places to grab coffee, breakfast or something quick between classes.
For residents who enjoy eating out with friends, the surrounding South Bank area adds further choice. The concentration of restaurants and cafés means students can vary their meals rather than relying on the same food options every day.
Students also have access to several green spaces around the accommodation. Tribune Street Park, Musgrave Park and South Bank Parklands provide outdoor areas for walking, relaxing or spending time away from study.
Healthcare facilities in the area include Mater Hospital, Mater Private, South Brisbane Medicare Urgent Care Clinic (Cornwall Street Medical Centre) and Mater Hill Family Medical Centre. Having several medical facilities within the wider neighbourhood gives residents options for routine healthcare and medical support.
Students who prefer to exercise outside the residence can also use the nearby fitness centres. The listed options include BFT South Brisbane, Dedicated Fitness Southbank, Goodlife West End and Anytime South Bank, complementing the gym available within Scape Tribune.
Life around Scape Tribune extends beyond the accommodation itself. Students have several venues nearby for meeting friends, getting a drink or spending an evening outside the residence. The listed options include Lina Rooftop, Rose & Crown, Plough Inn, Goldie’s Tavern and Pig ‘N’ Whistle South Bank.
Students who prefer quieter activities can make use of the area's libraries. State Library Queensland and West End Library provide additional places for reading, research and study away from the accommodation.
Inside the residence, the combination of social spaces, games facilities, cinema room and organised events gives residents opportunities to meet other students. This can be particularly relevant for students moving to Brisbane from another city or country and looking to establish a social routine alongside their studies.
Students researching accommodation often look beyond room prices and written descriptions before deciding where they want to live. Scape Tribune photos can help prospective residents understand the appearance and layout of the rooms, shared areas and facilities, while Scape Tribune reviews can provide another source of information about residents' experiences.
When comparing photos and reviews, it is useful to consider them alongside the actual room type you are considering. Scape Tribune includes private studios, apartments with several bedrooms and twin accommodation, so the experience can vary depending on the particular room and living arrangement selected.

The location is great and definitely one of the biggest advantages of living here. If you are a UQ, QUT, Griffith or TAFE student, you have easy access to your campus. However, I think it’s important to understand that a large part of what you’re paying for isn’t necessarily the living conditions themselves, but the social opportunities and sense of community that come with student accommodation. There is definitely a community and social aspect to this place that takes inclusivity, genuine relationships, and a long time to foster. As long as you are friendly and willing to participate socially, you will definitely enjoy your stay. Each room also has a shared kitchen/common area, which naturally puts you at risk depending on your roommates I would also like to give credit to the reception staff who are always willing to be sociable and help you out. I’d highly recommend it most to extroverted people, or at least anyone willing to put themselves out there, meet new people, and take advantage of the social environment. If you’re not particularly interested in that side of student accommodation or concerned with value for cost of living, I think most people could probably find better value living somewhere else. Before your stay, familiarize yourself with Australian rental laws and your rights as a tenant, especially if you’re an international student. Make sure you understand things like bond payments and refunds, your agreement, fees, and what you’re actually responsible for before signing anything.

For the price, this is better than any other apartment you will find in this kind of location or in the city. If you are a UQ student, the M2 bus is a life saver, much easier to get to uni than Toowong. There are lots of fire alarms during the first week when everyone moves in, the power can drop out for a whole night, but those things happen everywhere. What really matters is that everywhere is very clean, the staff are very friendly and nice, if anything breaks it will be fixed, all bills are included in one payment and the accomodation itself is good! So unless you have a lot of unnecessary objects you like to hoard, I recommend Scape Tribune! Although, having spent time in both the nearby Southbank and Merivale buildings within a 5 minute walk, Southbank is the better option if you want to pay a bit more, Tribune is good if you're on a budget. Just don't choose to live with more than 5 other people unless you're okay with the kitchen being very messy and having only half a shelf of a fridge!!!

Comfy place with a great and open community that encourages you to build new and everlasting connections. A number of events are held a month ranging from a simple pancake party to going on a trot in the beautiful mountains of Brisbane. It has additional facilities that drive home the fact that scape is all you need, or something of that nature. The rooms themselves are comfy enough to not drive you mad and I would consider and the communal kitchen space is quite nice (if you’re roommates know how to keep a modicum of cleanliness). Nice vibes, nice people, and a good time overall. A jolly good show. PS the roommates can either be a hit or miss tho, so please be warned PPS go and talk to the staff, they’re really nice…..I think

Housekeeping staff entered my locked bedroom without my consent or permission, no notification emails were sent prior to entry, this building is unsafe. 2 of my friends bike got stolen from the bike storage area managed by the building, and earlier this year cloths were stolen from the on site laundry room from strangers outside the building. Scape Tribune lacks 24/7 on site security. On a brighter note, staff is kind and helpful in general, but management is not stringent enough, which is a deal breaker.

Love this place mannnnn The receptionists are so cool, friendly and trained in mental health aid (so they’re willing to quickly listen to my problems) The building is old, but maybe that’s what makes it the best and most fun/friendly scape. Study rooms are great for exam block too! reception gave me a band-aid when i needed one so they’re a real g in my eyes
