I had a really positive experience staying at Brickworks. The housemates were respectful, the maintenance team was quick and efficient, and the reception staff were always friendly and cooperative. The facilities are great, the location is excellent, and the terrace view is honestly beautiful, especially at night. Overall, it felt like a comfortable and safe place to live, especially as an international student new to the city. I genuinely miss living there and would highly recommend it. The only downside is the high rent, which is why I’m giving it 4 stars.

I lived in this place for 9 months. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend it due to the ongoing and persistent problems in this accommodation. From the very first day, I encountered issues in my room—starting with a ceiling light that constantly disturbed my sleep, followed by continuous construction work and noise. It was extremely difficult to live under such conditions. Although the staff tried to help and address these problems, their efforts did not lead to any real improvement, and the living conditions remained almost unbearable. As a result, I had to terminate my contract to avoid further damage to my health. I am genuinely disappointed and it makes me sad to leave this review.

I had a very good experience at Brickworks. The rooms are clean, well maintained, and provide a comfortable and quiet environment, ideal for studying and relaxing. The overall atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. The manager (Andre) also deserves a special praisem. He is very professional, kind, and always ready to help. Any issue was handled quickly and efficiently, which really makes a difference. It is clear that the well-being of the students is a top priority. He helped me many times even though it was not always his duty to do so, he is a true manager and a man with a kind heart. I highly recommend this student dormitory for anyone looking for good conditions and excellent management.

The environment is rather good. It's close to the city centre, and there are supermarkets and bus stops nearby. The facilities include a gym and ample space. However, there are far too many problems. No hot water, heaters not working, card keys failing. Half the washing machines are out of order. Broken chairs aren't replaced, and so on. Having stayed for a long time, the sheer number of issues became quite noticeable. With eight people sharing the kitchen, it was quite a pain when someone wasn't pulling their weight. It's a hassle when someone brings their own problems. There are also frequent instances of people not buying shared supplies or not tidying up after themselves. I'd give it a mixed recommendation. I haven't stayed in other student accommodation, so I can't compare.

I HATE THIS APARTMENT!!!!! This is the most expensive and worst place to live!! DO NOT LIVE HERE!!! 1. The fire alarm goes off an ABSURD amount of times and it’s SOOO loud. There’s never an actual fire though. 2. There has been construction going on, ON THE BUILDING, everyday for the past few months and it’s absolutely excruciatingly loud. Imagine hearing screeching metal on metal sounds, the sound of power sawing metal, and banging sounds the entire day. This morning, Friday morning, construction workers came at 8 am and began unloading their metal beams off the truck and I got suddenly woken up by such a horrid screeching noise. Closing the windows does not even help. I am distraught that they didn’t begin this process during the summer or times when there’s less students. Now, while we are all studying for final exams, we will have to listen to literal ear rape. 3. It is unbearably hot in the flat. On their website, they claim to have a “personal thermostat” in each room but it’s just for show. It’s completely dysfunctional, you certainly cannot decrease the temperature. I feel like I’m entering a sauna whenever I come back to the accommodation. 4. The hot water in the shower does not last for more than a few minutes. The shower water suddenly turns cold after just a few minutes of hot water. Imagine you’re paying 1,500 euros a month and still have to take a cold shower… just unbelievable. 5. The weirdest thing about this place: they didn’t really clean my room before I arrived. They expect you to stay on top of your own cleaning for the room, and common area and if you don’t they CHARGE YOU?? Imagine already paying so much for rent and on top of that you get charged a cleaning fee for YOUR OWN FREAKING SPACE. I am relatively clean and tidy, but the principle of this is so wrong to me. You barge into MY room, tell me if MY space is clean enough and then CHARGE ME if it’s not???!!! What logic is that??? I have never heard of this happening, it is absolutely ridiculous in my opinion. If they care so much about our space being clean then THEY should clean it periodically free of charge. AND when I moved in my place was so dirty and dusty. They charge you so much and it goes nowhere… 6. Lastly, the rooms are not homey at all, very industrial looking, the layout is weird, most of the space is taken up by a long narrow corridor in your entryway so it’s completely unusable. Overall, I am extremely disappointed with this place, I highly urge you all to look for someplace other than this, this should only be your very last resort.
