Jeremy
Been living here for 2 and a half years and even worked for the place at one point, thankful for all the friendships and memories I made along the way but in terms of living conditions most apartments are hardzardous to your physical and mental health. Glad to be getting out of there. The apartments at Orion are run down except for 21 which they use for shortstay apartments, there is mould everywhere through rooms and furniture sunlight does not reach 80% of apartments so good luck getting rid of it, we have had mice running through our apartment, maggots hatching from the carpet during summer, residents who make you feel uncomfortable and unsafe, rubbish littered around the foot paths, roommates from other apartments screaming and fighting, broken and expensive washing/drying machines, broken taps on sinks, internet that cuts out frequently, electricity blackouts, rude and unreasonable security, utility and cleaning fees that dont really have a purpose as no cleaners actually come clean your apartment properly, the accomodation is overpriced for what it offers, hard to get your bond back and I would try to avoid it or get out as soon as you can as your health will thank you, the only benefit I found is that it humbles you and motivates you to work harder to never want to end up in a living situation like that again.

When I arrived it was very musty and smelt of mould. The shower soap dish was caked with gunk. Pillow case reaked of bacteria from not being dried properly and sheets gave me a burining rash. There were no plates, cups or pots and pans but I did request them and they were supplied. I was short stay 2 weeks and no change of linen in that time. Fire alarm kept going off the first night and I could not stop it. Night watch was not happy to be contacted the first time but did offer to come out but eventually got the fire brigade. SCU Village not happy that I did that. It was very noisy with people partying all the time. Bed was comfortable, desk and chair was good. Basically you get used to it but I am reluctant to stay again at $280 per week.

Do not stay here - it might be cheap, but it honestly should be free. Bed bugs, mould, no basic appliances. For 1 week short stay they give you dirty sheets, a tissue inside a pillowcase and a quilt without a cover. Honestly sleeping is preferable to this hellscape.

Unit O21 in Lismore SCU is the only safe unit. Every other unit has dangerous amounts of mould, food won't keep and good luck having flyscreens, shower doors or lounges that aren't covered in mould. Been told to clean or replace mouldy items myself and there are PowerPoints that's do not work. Slugs, mould and insects/maggots are common in all Orion. Do not come here unless you have no other option.

0 stars honestly. the worst experience a person could asked for. I was in a 3 bedroom then i asked to be moved into a 2 bedroom (nothing wrong with the housemates in the 3 bedroom unit, just need a little bit of more space), they moved in a 2 bedroom but it was with a 36 year old guy and during that time i was only 18, during the 3 weeks i had to stay with him he harrased me, he yelled out the window to other people living at sirus and called them names, the higher authorities didnt care he did that and didnt move him of the campus like he should. the price is so expensive and not worth it. do not stay here, go the gold coast campus or better yet go to a university that is actually good.
