If you're looking for a place to live for uni in Brissy there are better options. Stayed for 6 months and couldn't wait to leave by the end of my lease. The rooms are tiny only enough room for the desk, single bed snd about 1 metre between them. All facilities are communal alot of residents take advantage of these facilities leaving them absolutely filthy. The kitchens and bathrooms where disgusting on a daily basis and management always seems to threaten but never take action on the culprits. All this for 300 a week for a single bed room was very disappointing. Edit: Forgot to mention that the communal fridges are filthy. As you have to share like 20-30 fridges with 100s of people. They say they clear it out every so often but this didnt happen once over 6 months. People would often store uncovered items in the fridges and they always stunk. Also living next to the hospital wasn't great for the first couple weeks with the helicopters flying past your window at any hour. Cleaners would also close the bathrooms for hours but when you go back in after they're open they never actually seem to have been cleaned

Since before I even arrived in Australia, my experience with UniLodge had already been incredibly positive. While I was still in Brazil, the team was always clear, responsive, and genuinely helpful. I still remember the day I first arrived, full of doubts, and every single question I had was patiently answered by the reception staff. I was given a tour of the building to get to know the amenities, and I was honestly impressed. The kitchen is fully equipped with microwaves, stoves, and ovens, and it is cleaned daily, with scheduled cleaning of the freezers and fridges. The bathrooms also seem to be cleaned at least three times a day, at least every time I use them, they’re spotless and smell pleasant. There is also a game room and a well-equipped gym available for all residents, which makes the building even more comfortable and fun to live in. My room initially had an issue with the fan, but as soon as I reported it, a maintenance request was opened and the problem was fixed very quickly. Even being thousands of kilometers away from home, I truly feel safe and welcomed here. What I enjoy the most is the opportunity to join the events organized by the staff and explore Brisbane while meeting new people. It’s also worth mentioning how efficient the Resident Portal is for resolving anything we need, and if something happens after hours, the residential advisors are always available and ready to help. I genuinely love living here, and I would recommend UniLodge without a second thought.

MUST READ: I was very nervous to come around and have a tour of the site; prior to the tour I asked people of good accomodations around Brizzy and I was told to “avoid Herston”— but the prices looked too good to ignore so I went to see it for myself and make up my mind there. While on the tour, I was able to ask questions with Robin (Site Manager) who REALLY helped me understand the perspectives with respect and nuance. It’s quite uncomfortable to say “hey I heard bad things about this place, could you explain to me what you feel this could be linked to?” And my question was met with so much respect, I’m thankful I had the guts to ask. Herston may not be a first choice if you’re specifically looking for “I want my own space and I don’t want to think about my neighbours”— instead, I learnt for Herston that “you get out what you put in” regarding building the connections and communities (that naturally develop while being in Student Accomodation) To help a person actually find their place both academically and socially. Herston seems to be a space to build your networks; an opportunity to find your people— The respect, and emphasis on community and safety makes this student accomodation feel pretty unique to Brisbane; it’s also pretty cool to stay in such a beautifully historical space— makes me want to take up architecture as a hobby just to appreciate it better. Absolutely recommend speaking with Robin for more information about staying in Herston and its unique culture :)

Great place to live as a student I’ve had a very good experience living at UniLodge student accommodation. The environment is safe, clean, and well-maintained, which makes it a comfortable place to live and focus on studies. The rooms are modern and functional, and the common areas are always kept tidy and welcoming. The staff are friendly, supportive, and approachable. Whenever I had questions or needed assistance, they were helpful and responsive, which really makes a difference when living away from home. Maintenance requests are handled efficiently, and the overall management is professional. The location is very convenient, especially for students, with easy access to public transport, universities, shops, and essential services. I also appreciate the sense of community here—it feels secure and student-friendly. Overall, UniLodge has been a pleasant and reliable place to live, and I would definitely recommend it to students looking for comfortable and well-managed accommodation.

I just stayed here for around 6 months but somehow I dont like and recommend here. 1. The kitchen is messy all the time since the students here don’t clean. But the cleaners actually clean a bunch of times in a day. 2. I lost my things here and they said they will notify me, but they didn’t. 3. There are some bugs here and no ac in the bedroom. Worry about the hygiene.
