Honestly, living at Yugo Adelaide since 2023 has been unreal. When I was looking for a place, I chose Yugo because the services and facilities were just so much better here compared to other student accommodations. Looking at the building facilities and the overall vibe, this felt like a much better investment for living here, and it definitely paid off! If you’re coming down here for the first time, Yugo is the place to get you started with your new life! The location is perfect, literally right in the city, so it’s super easy to get to uni or grab groceries. Plus, it’s right next door to Homeboy, which has the absolute best coffee and cinnamon scrolls ever! You’ve also got amazing Asian food, pizza spots, bars, and the cinemas right around the corner. The building itself is great. I love the gym, but the absolute best part is the view from my room and apartment. I've caught the most insane sunrises and sunsets from here! The place is clean, the room was spotless when I checked in, and they have cleaners who come do the cleaning of the shared spaces, which is a massive help! The only annoying thing is the fire alarms waking you up sometimes, but honestly, apart from that, I’ve never had any issue with management. The staff are so good and always happy to help with anything. They also throw heaps of free food events, which is the best way to hang out and meet new people. They always take around student to experience new places and events also heaps of help in getting your life started in Australia as a new international student. Other thing, as long as you keep your own space clean and respect the people you live with, you’ll be completely fine here. Have an problem, talk to the team, they alway find a way to help you! I’m going to miss this place so much! If you're looking for a student accommodation, do yourself a favor and pick Yugo! I had a really positive experience staying at Yugo Adelaide City. The staff have always been friendly, patient and helpful throughout my stay. I’m especially grateful for the support they gave me when I recently needed to move to Sydney to continue my studies at another school. They were very understanding of my situation and helped make the move-out and early termination process much easier and less stressful than I expected. This is by far one of the worst places I have ever lived. I genuinely regret choosing to stay here and would never recommend it to anyone. The hallways constantly smell disgusting, and it's not just an occasional issue—it's almost every day. Walking back to your room is unpleasant because of how bad the smell is. The lifts are another nightmare. They're incredibly slow, unreliable, and you're constantly waiting for them. Sometimes it feels like half your day is spent just trying to get to your floor. The WiFi is terrible. It's slow, constantly disconnects, and is nowhere near reliable enough for studying, working, or even basic streaming. For a place that charges this much, the internet is honestly unacceptable. The whole building feels neglected and poorly maintained. There always seems to be something broken or not working properly, and it doesn't feel like management cares enough to fix the ongoing issues. Instead of feeling like home, the building is stressful and frustrating to live in. Considering how much rent costs, the value is absolutely awful. The terrible smell, unreliable lifts, poor WiFi, and overall lack of maintenance make living here a miserable experience. There are far better options out there, and I strongly recommend looking elsewhere unless you want to deal with constant problems and disappointment.

Axel has always been approachable, helpful, and supportive during my time at Yugo. What stood out most was that he always took ownership of issues and made sure they were fully resolved, never once leaving residents feeling stuck or without a clear path forward. As someone new to Australia, I found this especially valuable. He not only helped me transition smoothly into Yugo but also adjust to life in Australia. I'd also like to thank Marcus, Jorge, and Ali for their professionalism and friendliness. Overall, I had a positive experience thanks to their support.

I will try to give the most honest opinion on my living experience at Yugo. I was initially attracted by the facilities, location as well as the layout of the room. I can confirm that the general interior of the building as well as the room are both top notch. They also have heaps of nice study rooms, common area and game/cinema rooms that you can kill time with. What really brought down the whole living experience was the staff and the management of the building. Most of the staffs were condescending, rude and unhelpful. Something I would have never expected considering this is a) a student accommodation, b) the hefty weekly rent ppl are paying. The service provided just didnt justify the high price tag here. I deep down believe staffs there r mostly burned out therefore turning their resentment towards residents. One thing everyone should take note is the fishy rotten smell in the building. Its a smell that Ive never smelt in my life. Its extremely unpleasant and that fishy, vomit smell mixed with the summer heat was criminal. The odor was everywhere in the building and theres no way I could escape from it. It affected my sleep and constantly had to leave the building for some fresh air. Numerous emails were sent to the team and they would always just say "we will investigate". I vividly remember there was this time the odor was so strong that I thought there was a decaying body somewhere in the building. This is not a joke. I have to reiterate the seriousness of this. It’s that bad. Not to the mention the constant blocked chute and weekly fire alarm triggers. To add on that, yugo has an auto time limit on the aircon system in your room, which means, the ac would reset and turn off itself every 12 hours. As I recall the cycle is 8pm-8am and 8am-8pm and you have to manually turn it back on once it resets. I've lost count of the amount of times I was woken up by the heat and stuffiness in my room because the AC automatically turned off itself during summer mornings. This still makes no sense to me and when I spoke to the team about it, they simply replied “that’s how the system was built, nothing we can do”. When was the last time you go to an accommodation/hotel where the ac would turn off itself? No accountability taken and they simply don’t care about residents living experience there. Also weird how this never came across their mind when they were designing this mega multimillion dollar student accommodation. If I can think of these things, I’m sure a engeering/builder should have too? But this just didn’t seem to be the case. Considering yugo sits on the more luxurious side on the student accommodation spectrum, you would have thought they would have had all details planned out. Again, poor execution with no customer experience in mind. Your residents are you assets, treat them right! Another thing worth highlighting is the bond. They really will take their time to refund your bond unless you urge them to. This seems to be the norm as it happened to myself, 3 of my friends as well as other reviews online. I left at the end of June and almost took them a month and a half to refund. Take note I had to reach out via email to chase up if not it would have taken longer. They in fact only had to click one button to refund and the money would be with you within a day. If it was that easy, why couldn’t they just do that at the first place? These are people’s hard earned money and they just don’t seem to care other than milking you. When you checkout for good, they would also charge you cleaning fee for the room you have deeply sanitized right before you check out. Then why ask residents to sanitize it in the first place? I've lived in student accommodations in the past and this was never the practice. I am so glad that I've moved out from this place. p.s stop telling your current residents to give you fake 5 star reviews that were all rated on the same day. People are not that thick. Suggest you guys to start doing something constructive as this is the only solution to turn the boat around.
