Our apartment manager, who is the same for all of Modena, is the quintessential example of how NOT to do this job. His incompetence, coldness, aloofness, and general blatant disregard for safety, management, and common sense are making my and my roommates' experience a living hell. The apartment was provided to us in PITYING conditions, and the kitchen required FIVE people (including me) to work for THREE days to make it livable. The presence of a violent, threatening, and mentally unstable roommate prompted a response that is a pearl of respectability and indifference: "If you feel threatened, ignore it." The boiler is constantly broken, the bathrooms are too, and in general there's no help whatsoever in scheduling cleaning shifts, with someone who doesn't even care about contributing. In terms of billing, things aren't much better, since (they say) the entire balance of the contract will be billed in a lump sum at the end of the contract, not monthly, creating problems for those who need documentation for refunds and tax purposes. All for the modest sum of €520 per month, which is soon set to rise. I wouldn't recommend using them even if they were the last landlords in the region (also because they're now completely ignoring both the age target and the references of those renting...). The most squalid, disappointing, and hypocritical experience of my life.
