The Parco del Popolo, also known as the Public Gardens, is a large green space in the historic center of Reggio Emilia, located on the site of the ancient Gonzaga Citadel. The park, created in 1864 based on a design by Giuseppe Balzaretto and expanded in 1928, features tree-lined avenues, fountains (including the Monumental Fountain), statues, and playgrounds, and is a popular place for strolling and relaxing.

Ci ho pensato un po' su quante stelle dare al parco di Reggio e gliene ho date 4 perché è un bel parco tenuto bene, con una bella zona per i bimbi e bei cedri con più di 100 anni provenienti dal Libano è proprio accanto al teatro valli. Il parco ha più di 150 anni. Purtroppo bisogna prestare attenzione durante la notte perchè potrebbe essere frequentato da brutti ceffi e a volte anche da spacciatori, spesso si vedono all'interno del parco pattuglie di polizia. Comunque lo consiglio io durante il giorno ci vado tranquillamente Affianco il martedì e venerdì, fanno un buon mercato, c'è il teatro Valli, è una discreta piazza

I appreciate the positive reviews because it would indeed be a very nice park in the city center... but... between small-time drug dealers always present along the wall on Via Spallanzani, shady characters, disappointing cleanliness, and people who sleep there at night, it's a rare example of incivility. And the city? And the police? Cù cù, is anyone there!?!?
