Establishment and Formation: The University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) was established on 18 November 2010 through the merger of the University of Wales Lampeter and Trinity University College Carmarthen. In August 2013, Swansea Metropolitan University also merged with UWTSD, further expanding its reach and offerings. Its history, however, dates back much further to 1822 with the founding of St David's College, Lampeter, making it the oldest degree-awarding institution in Wales after the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge.
