UEL operates Docklands, Stratford and University Square Stratford campuses. Docklands is the only campus with university halls, housing more than 1,100 residents beside the waterfront.
Docklands Campus
The Docklands campus occupies University Way, E16 2RD. Cyprus DLR station stands beside the university and receives services every five to ten minutes. A free inter-campus bus connects Docklands with Stratford.
The most direct student accommodation near the University of East London Docklands comes from the university’s East and West Student Villages.
Every standard university room has a private en-suite bathroom and access to a shared kitchen. Current 2026 guidance places entry prices from £182 per week, with utilities and Wi-Fi included.
An on-campus room removes public transport from most teaching days. It also places residents farther from Stratford’s shops and central London nightlife.
Beckton
Beckton lies east of Docklands and connects with Cyprus through the DLR and local buses.
Shared houses and private flats appear throughout the area. Larger supermarkets and retail parks support everyday shopping without travel into central London.
The neighbourhood remains quiet in the evening. Someone who expects frequent nights in Stratford, Shoreditch or central London should calculate the last train and bus route.
Canning Town
Canning Town gives access to the Jubilee line and DLR. It creates useful links to Docklands, Stratford, Canary Wharf and central London.
Ark Canning Town currently begins at around £319 per week for a private room. The building offers 44- and 51-week agreements with bills included.
A conventional house share may cost less. The exact street determines whether the university trip uses one service or an interchange.
Stratford
Stratford supports UEL’s Stratford campuses and provides direct transport towards Docklands.
Westfield Stratford City, supermarkets, restaurants and Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park form much of the local week. Stratford station has Underground, DLR, Overground, Elizabeth line and National Rail services.
Press House currently begins at £307 per week, while Stratford One starts around £305. Both offer bills-inclusive private rooms under several tenancy lengths.
A Docklands course will still require the DLR or university bus. Stratford gains value when the timetable also includes Water Lane or University Square.
Greenwich and the Royal Docks
Creek Court currently starts at £245 per week. The property lies farther from UEL but may appeal to someone who wants a lower managed-room price and accepts a longer route.
The Cube Greenwich currently begins at £320 for available studios. A self-contained room provides privacy but creates a journey involving DLR, rail or buses.
For general student accommodation near the University of East London, use the course campus as the first filter. Docklands residents should prioritise Cyprus, Beckton and Canning Town. Stratford learners should begin with Stratford, Forest Gate and Plaistow
