Mayoral Drive Student Accommodation, auckland

Great place to stay for university students; safe, friendly, and full of creative spaces. I stayed at UniLodge Mayoral Drive (MDSA) during my first year at AUT, and honestly, I had a great experience. The security was solid, which gave me real peace of mind. Only residents with access cards could enter, so I never had to worry about safety when coming back late from classes or studying. I was on a scholarship, so I had some rental support, and that made my stay even better. But even beyond that, I could see how the place really tries to provide value for students, especially international ones. One of the highlights for me was the common areas; the big common room where everyone could relax or hang out, the shared kitchen where we cooked and ate together, and even the ping pong and foosball area which was always fun. The cinema room was a favourite spot for my friends and me; we had a lot of good movie nights there. What I personally loved most was the music room. I’m a music head, so being able to go in there, play the piano, destress, and just zone out after studying was a huge plus. It’s such a good space for creative students. The staff were extremely helpful, approachable, and accommodating throughout my stay. Whether it was maintenance requests, general questions, or just day-to-day support, they were always kind and ready to assist. Overall, UniLodge Mayoral Drive in Auckland provided a safe, comfortable, and student-friendly environment. I really enjoyed my time there and would definitely recommend it to future students looking for a supportive place to stay while pursuing your studies.

If you are someone who likes their own space as in their own washroom and kitchen space then Unilodge is the best place. It’s so close to university and other ammenities. There are so many activities organised which are always worth the money. It is a clean and comfortable room. The unilodge staffs are also very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend you to live here . The best part is you get to make a lot of friends easily as there are facilities like music room , theatre , pool table and many other games . If u live in unilodge you get a university free voucher and discount to uni gym. So yeah worth the price ☺️

when I called them, the funniest thing I have ever heard in my life was that if you are a student you can live here but your husband cannot live with you because he is not a student. I haven’t seen it in any part of the world. So if you want to live far from your husband or wife it is really a good place. If I could give zero to their behavior I would definitely do that

The worst student accomodation in Auckland CBD, do yourself a favour and don’t go to this place. Only one central common floor that makes it really hard to meet friends, no oven in your room and the common floor ones are disgusting all the time. Rooms are literal prison cells, my mate had a room that had a window that looked into a concrete wall - he’d get about 2 hours of sunlight per day. If you want to get depression go stay at this place, it’s basically solitary confinement. You pay 450 or so a week (not including food) for the worst possible experience. RAs don’t give two shits, and managers/reception staff are rude and unhelpful. I felt so unsupported in my first year of uni, met no friends and considered dropping out. Since moving to other accomodation this year I have had a much better experience, and realised the problem wasn’t AUT it was MDSA. Do yourself a favour and save your money, time and mental health, and go somewhere else!

Great place for a student, especially if you are with AUT. Near to supermarket, plenty of food options. My experience has been good since check in. The staff are helpful and friendly. I agree with some of the reviews here, the activities hosted by the RAs aren't great and not frequent enough to make it feel like a student accommodation. Rooms are quite small but enough for a single person to live in. Utilities included which is quite handy.
