I have been living here for a couple of months now: the apartments are nice, there's a bathroom, a room and a kitchenette. No common areas apart from a little terrace. Nice proximity to supermarkets, McFit, and metro. There are washing and drying machines (the latter are very bad and could ruin the clothes). I've heard of people having problems with crockroaches in their rooms but my room is fortunately doing fine. It's quiet, super cheap, and there are a lot of people living here (~300). Overall, I'd recommend moving here!!

Unfortunately, it wasn't possible to view the dorm before I moved in, which, in retrospect, is understandable: The hygienic conditions are unacceptable. The room and the hallways are heavily infested with vermin, especially cockroaches, which hide under the bed, in the baseboards, and behind and under the wardrobes. Despite supposed pest control measures, the problems keep recurring. When I pointed these issues out to the building manager in my first few weeks after moving in, he just laughed and said I'd gotten the cleanest room, that others were worse—which is extremely appalling. I spent five whole days cleaning every nook and cranny when I moved in, and yet cockroaches kept emerging from every corner during that entire period. Only after using my own pesticide did things improve somewhat from the fifth day onward. The furniture and walls are badly worn, scratched, and partially stained. Furthermore, unpleasant odors permeate the place, making the stay unbearable. Communicating with the building manager is extremely difficult. Necessary repairs or assistance often take several days or even weeks to arrive, despite repeated promises to take care of them "immediately." The room's furnishings are rather basic: laminate flooring, a fully tiled bathroom with a toilet, a shower rod (no curtain), a built-in wardrobe, and a mirror. The bed (100 x 200 cm slatted frame) is usually provided without a mattress, along with a rolling storage unit. The wardrobe is 63 cm deep and 140 cm wide, equipped with eight drawers and a clothes rail. A large desk (160 x 80 cm) and a chair are also provided. However, the mattress and chair are in such poor condition that they resemble the furniture of a homeless person: stained and full of holes. Small curtains and folding blinds offer minimal privacy. The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator including a freezer compartment, a small sink, and a two-burner cooktop. The dorm's location is a definite plus: the subway is just a five-minute walk away, and shops like Rossmann, DHL, Hermes, Beck's, and Norma are only a minute's walk. The building has an elevator and a laundry room (washing €1, drying €0.50), but these are frequently out of order. Many residents therefore resort to the laundromat around the corner (about 90 meters away, €3.50 per load and about €4 for the dryer). At least there, the laundry is actually clean and doesn't smell as unpleasant as after washing in the dorm's machines. Package delivery is also problematic. While Amazon delivers directly to the room, DHL packages are usually left outside the caretaker's office, or a "We couldn't find you" label is left, meaning you have to pick them up yourself every time. DPD, on the other hand, is a regular disappointment: the delivery drivers don't ring the doorbell and just drive on – every single time, even though you specifically set aside time to wait for the delivery. In addition, the dorm receives a lot of unwanted advertising, for example from delivery services or leaflet distributors. Attached is the floor plan of the room with the exact dimensions for a better idea of the situation. The rent for a single apartment is currently around €320, plus a security deposit of approximately €550. Given these conditions, I was very relieved when I was finally able to move out. The pre-inspection and final inspection of the apartment were chaotic and completely uncoordinated. I could give numerous other examples, but what I've said is enough to give a clear picture. In the video below, you can see the dirt I had to vacuum up in the apartment after moving in, including the beetles... I wish I had filmed it when eight cockroaches jumped out at once when I lifted the bed frame. I absolutely cannot recommend this dorm for a long-term stay.
