Leeds Arts University has two main campuses:

Blenheim Walk: This is the primary campus, housing a wide array of specialist facilities including studios for painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, fashion design, textiles, and fine art.

Vernon Street: Located a short walk from Blenheim Walk, this campus primarily accommodates the creative advertising, graphic design, illustration, animation, and filmmaking departments.

Leeds Arts University Students' Union (LAUSU): Represents the student body, organizes a variety of social events, workshops, and activities, and supports student-led societies and clubs.

University Societies and Clubs: A range of societies and clubs cater to diverse creative interests and social activities, providing opportunities to connect with like-minded individuals.

Student Events: LAUSU organizes events throughout the academic year, including exhibitions of student work, social gatherings, and workshops.

Libraries: Dedicated libraries on both campuses offer extensive collections of art and design resources, including books, journals, and digital materials.

Specialist Studios and Workshops: Equipped with industry-standard equipment and resources relevant to each discipline, providing hands-on learning experiences.

IT Suites and Digital Labs: Offering access to industry-standard software and technology essential for creative practices.

Project Spaces and Exhibition Areas: Providing platforms for students to showcase their work and develop their professional practice.

Cafes and Social Spaces: Offering areas for students to relax, socialize, and collaborate outside of studio time.

Leeds Arts University has two main campuses: Blenheim Walk and Vernon Street, both conveniently located near Leeds city centre. Popular student-friendly areas for accommodation include:

Hyde Park: Situated to the north-west of the city centre and both campuses, Hyde Park is a highly sought-after student area known for its lively atmosphere, independent shops, cafes, pubs, and proximity to the University of Leeds. It offers a mix of shared houses and some student-specific accommodation, with frequent bus services connecting it to the university and city centre. Affordability is generally good.

Headingley: Located further north-west of Hyde Park, Headingley is another popular student hub with a vibrant centre offering shops, bars, restaurants, and sports facilities. Transport links to the university and city centre are excellent via buses and a train station. While slightly further, it provides a good balance of student life and amenities, with potentially slightly higher rental costs in some areas.

Woodhouse: Situated directly north of the city centre and very close to the Blenheim Walk campus, Woodhouse offers convenient access to the university and city amenities. It has a mix of student housing and local residents, with good bus connections and reasonable affordability.

City Centre: Living in the city centre provides the most direct access to the City Campus and all urban amenities, including excellent transport links from Leeds Train Station. There's an increasing number of purpose-built student accommodation options, though it tends to be more expensive.

Burley Park: Located west of the city centre, Burley Park is within walking or a short bus ride to the Blenheim Walk campus. It offers a more residential feel with local amenities and can be a more budget-friendly option.

Being centrally located, students at Leeds Arts University have easy access to a variety of attractions:

Leeds City Centre: A vibrant hub for shopping (Victoria Leeds, Trinity Leeds), culture (Leeds Art Gallery, Leeds Grand Theatre), and historical architecture (Leeds Corn Exchange, Leeds Town Hall).

Kirkstall Abbey: A stunning and historic Cistercian monastery ruin set in beautiful parkland along the River Aire.

Roundhay Park: One of the largest urban parks in Europe, offering lakes, woodland, gardens, and the Tropical World attraction.

Canal Wharf: A revitalized waterfront area with bars, restaurants, and scenic views.

First Direct Arena: A major entertainment venue hosting concerts, comedy shows, and sporting events.

Royal Armouries Museum: The UK's national collection of arms and armour.

Leeds Corn Exchange: A beautifully preserved Victorian building housing independent shops and eateries.

Northern Quarter: Known for its independent shops, cafes, bars, and creative atmosphere.

Leeds has a well-integrated public transport system:

Buses: An extensive network of bus services connects the city and surrounding areas, with frequent routes serving both university campuses and popular student residential areas. Major operator is First Leeds.

Trains: Leeds City Station is a major railway hub providing connections across the UK. Students living further afield may utilize train services for commuting.

Cycling and Walking: The relatively close proximity of student areas to the campuses makes cycling and walking viable and often preferred options for many students.

West Yorkshire MetroCard: Students enrolled in full-time education can apply for a MetroCard, which offers discounted travel on buses and trains within West Yorkshire. Application details and eligibility criteria can be found on the West Yorkshire Metro website.

National Railcards: For train travel across the UK, students aged 16-25 (and some mature students) can purchase a National Railcard to receive discounts on fares.
