I stayed at THE FIZZ Altona in Hamburg for 10 months and had a great experience overall. The facilities were excellent, and my room was spacious and comfortable, which made it a really good place to live for such a long period. The staff were always friendly and helpful throughout my stay, and a special mention to Laura, the Assistant Manager, who was always incredibly kind, warm and welcoming. I really enjoyed my 10 months at THE FIZZ Altona and would definitely recommend it, especially for anyone looking for a comfortable place to stay in Hamburg long term.

I lived at The Fizz Hamburg (Holstenstraße) in 2021–2022 after moving to Germany. It was easy to book, which was exactly what I needed at the time. The building was clean, I felt safe, my room was cozy, and the apartment managers were great. The accommodation matched what was advertised. At contract end, I was offered a renewal at €844/month compared to €795/month previously, with otherwise comparable conditions. I chose not to extend the contract. When I recently checked the advertised prices, I was surprised to see a 22 m² studio listed at around €1,312/month for a one-year stay. In my opinion, that price no longer reflects what I associate with student housing. If you’re considering The Fizz, compare your options first. WGs, university housing, and other student accommodations may offer better value for your budget. One last thought: judging by the rent development, I should have invested instead of becoming a tenant. Apparently, it has been a bull market. 😁

I had lived here for roughly a year on the first floor. As it’s a student residence, it’s fine. It’s quite secure and quite nice. However, definitely not worth the price paid in terms of living quality. You can get a similar room quality for several hundred cheaper nearby. That said, it was easy and seamless to book, and furnished apartments from corporate landlords are always expensive. My greatest issue in terms of offerings was the lack of proper temperature control within my room. So chances are, be prepared to be super cold in the winter and super hot in the summer. My greatest issue overall was quiet hours - especially if you live on the first floor near the kitchen/lounge area. People will be partying nonstop, up til 2-3 in the morning, super loudly. It’s policy to have quiet hours well before that, and honestly - people SHOULD AT LEAST close the doors to the kitchen if they’ll party past quiet hours anyway. But it’s a student residence after all. Mostly young people. I recall having to walk outside and ask them to close the kitchen door when partying multiple times at night, multiple days in a row. Lessons are never learned, so. It’s exactly what you’d expect from a student residence after all - if you value your sleep request a room on a higher floor.

Reception is super nice and super helpful. You also have everything you need in regards to facilities, everything you can ask for in an apartment building. It is also near to the center, 3 stations away with the S-bahn. Also have a REWE and a drugstore downstairs so it's easy to go shopping.

Large but safe building with many studios but due to its high quality building standards it is very quiet in the apartments. Front desk staff are all very lovey and always helpful and the amenities within the building are great. Highly recommended.
