Appealing 1-bedroom flat in Gutleutviertel, frankfurt

When I first arrived in Germany as an Erasmus student, I called the janitor to get the keys to my room. However, he told me that if I didn’t speak German, he wouldn’t answer me in English and hung up. When I called again, he shouted and hung up the phone. I had to ask local German residents for help to communicate with him in German and find out what I needed to do. Because of this dorm, I ended up staying in a hostel with 14 other people that night. My family was very worried. Now, I have been living in this dorm for 10 months, and overall, the location and building are quite nice, but charging 400 euros for shared bathrooms and toilets is quite expensive compared to other dorms in Frankfurt.

Wow

There's practically no worse student residence in Frankfurt; and that's unfortunately an administrative problem. There's the caretaker, who is incredibly disrespectful to the residents, barging into apartments uninvited and constantly looking for ways to make life unpleasant for them. You can't shake the feeling that the caretaker is deliberately seeking confrontation. Then there's the administration, which seems friendly on the outside but avoids any unpleasantness whenever possible. If you're looking for a place to live in a student residence in Frankfurt, please don't put yourself through this. The student union residences or the Catholic residences are far superior (and cheaper, €420 a month for a room in a shared apartment). Incidentally, the Susanna-von-Klettenberg House should seek competent legal advice before they start drawing up rental agreements with invalid clauses. Don't let them forbid you from doing anything they have the right to forbid.

Caretakers are generally questionable, but this one is a special case. He's incredibly unfriendly and unhelpful. He doesn't ask for permission; instead, employees or tradespeople regularly enter apartments. Despite this, the problem of the fire alarm constantly going off for hours on end on weekends remains unresolved. What a management system! The living situation in the city's student dormitories is significantly better and cheaper.

Absolutely disgusting, it's moldy everywhere and there are more insects than students! Definitely not recommended!
