Apartments are so small and the prices are increasing every contract , you get sold by the community headlines and the community spots are rarely used or taken care of There are no pool sticks the table tennis racks are old and sticky The tiles in the bathroom are coming off and the service isnt there most of the time Also the washing machines are broken most of the time so you have to share two or maximum three with two -three hundred people

This place is, in my experience, extremely poor value for money and frustrating to live in. The rooms are very small for the price, and even basic functionality is missing. You cannot do laundry in your apartment, and instead have to share machines with roughly 250 other residents. That alone should set expectations for how practical day-to-day life is here. The “community areas” sound good on paper but are largely unusable in reality. The cinema is placed in the same space as the communal kitchen, which makes it almost impossible to use without constant noise. You might think you could use it at off-hours, but I was told that if people make a mess or have parties, management may close the area “to teach them a lesson.” So in practice, you can end up paying for amenities that are simply taken away. Other facilities follow the same pattern. The pool table had no balls or cues available, and you’re apparently expected to request them — during limited office hours that many people can’t realistically make. The gym had broken machines for a long time, and repairs only seemed to happen very late. Management and oversight were a major source of frustration. In my experience, interactions felt unprofessional, and rules did not appear to be applied consistently. For example, while pets are supposedly restricted, I personally saw residents with dogs, and was told by one that paying extra could make it “not a problem.” Whether or not that reflects official policy, it certainly creates the impression of inconsistent enforcement. Also why does it feel like "speak german or you don't deserve respect" There are also two chickens kept outdoors on the property in all weather conditions, seemingly as a kind of shared feature. Some residents may find this unusual or uncomfortable. Overall, this feels like paying a premium price for a very limited living space, while many of the advertised extras are either impractical, unavailable, or dependent on circumstances outside your control. If you ignore everything except the room itself, your expectations may align better. Otherwise, I would strongly advise looking elsewhere. For years their review replies consist on excuses and aleged commitment but no structural change follows.

Creepy doorman/security looking at your groceries over time and asking YOU questions about it?? PRIVACY? And maybe basic decency? I fell and broke my knee in the apartment and damaged the door... When my partner shows him the damage he starts swearing in german to an international student... iLive only damages it's reputation in the longterm with workers with such a power complex like they own the building. Meanwhile they make every living interaction with the housemeister miserable. He is a child who does not know his place and practically begs for a class in portuguese swearing. "we cannot trace this situation based on the information provided." But you can excuse yourself of an internal investigation with these words way more easily :)

I've been living in I live for five months now and I've liked pretty much. The apartments and facilities are nice, modern and well-equipped. The "Hausmeister" (Dirk) is super nice and helpful and Isabel, the new manager, it's amazing. One can tell how the I live community has improved since she took care of it. My only complaint is about the amount of money I live charge you for every minor procedure. I will switch to a different apartment, and just for that, I have to pay 120 euros. I just hope not to have big issues to get my deposit when I move out.

Im Living here since summer and I love it. In the heart of cologne you get everywhere within 10 minutes. The modern apartments look really good and u feel at home. Also the community is really kind and there are a lot of people that help you if you need something. The community manager Isabel is sooooo kind and always in a good mood, she helps you with everything and she’s also the one who plans the events at ilive. The events are really good and you have a lot of fun there with the community and you can meet a lot of new people. Then there’s Martin he’s really really kind and helps you with every problem that you have all around the Appartment. He also helps Isabel with the Events. Both are doing a great job. The only negative aspect of ilive is, that it is expensive. Sometimes you have small issues with the Wi-Fi, salty water coming out of the shower/sinks or dirty washing machines. But Isabel and Martin fix it immediately.
