I stayed at Felix d’Ort in Lyon for two nights. The location is definitely one of its strong points. It’s about a 15–20 minute walk from the main train station and very close to several supermarkets. There are also a few cafés and restaurants nearby, and you can reach the Garibaldi metro station in around 8 minutes, which makes getting around the city quite easy. The room, however, was disappointing. It’s located on the ground floor of what seems to be an old building converted into a bed and breakfast. While I understand that there was an intense heatwave during my stay, the solution provided was far from ideal. I was given a small, very old portable air conditioner that was extremely noisy. I barely slept for two nights because of the constant loud humming. ( volume on in the video) When I asked if it was possible to get a quieter unit, I was told there were no alternatives available, as the newer and more powerful devices were already in use in other rooms. That was quite frustrating, especially given the conditions. Breakfast was also underwhelming. I was told to expect a “French buffet,” but in reality it consisted of bread with chocolate spread, a jar of yogurt, some cheese, a baguette, and a couple of slices of ham, plus American coffee from a thermos. It didn’t really match the expectation set by the description. One detail that surprised me was being asked for tips (with percentage suggestions) when paying the city tax, which felt unusual in this context. Overall, the stay was manageable for two days mainly thanks to the convenient location, but the lack of comfort and sleep made it a disappointing experience.

We had a nice experience here. The owner is very friendly and the rooms are clean. The breakfast was very tasty with good french cheese and ham, not the low supermarket quality as in other places. I forgot my headphones there and the owner found them back for me. We'll definitely come back!

We had a bad experience. You have to go through 3 different doors with different codes. The shower is so small one can barely use it. Breakfast is poor. And the parking they charge 20 euros for is shared with e other guests we were called 3 times to move the car so he can squize more in. The host Christian was nice and doing his best, but this place is better avoid place.

Just simply not a good place to stay. Where to start? The room: Rickety junk furniture; the tiny table so unstable that putting a glass on it was risky. Rough toilet paper. No control of heat available. Bathroom sink in such a narrow space that I literally could not get my shoulders in it to wash my face. No closet at all. I could go on and on. Staff was nowhere to be found, even during their supposed welcoming hours; owner was on holiday and we discovered that a woman who was a hired employee was there but had never come to us nor even greeted us when we saw her.. she was busy with her friends! And it turned out she was Ukrainian and didn't speak either English or hardly any French! Location is poor: A residential neighborhood with virtually no decent restaurants around it.

Friendly and nicely decorated boutique cute hotel in a big house with attentive staff. We were staying in one of the smaller rooms, however comfortable. Some customers who require AC may find it hard to sustain in summer as listed building status prevents from such installations. Also some may feel mild sound proofing not to their liking.
