I studied at Alliance Française for month and I'm from Finland. My experience was mainly positive, but if someone is planning to spend only one month like I did, I would recommend staying in a hotel instead of renting a room for one month because the insurance is worrying and a lot of paper, you need to buy so many things and I had to get the bed things professionally cleaned which cost a lot of money. (Around a 100 euros.) I also had to buy spices for cooking and a toilet brush, but thankfully the room had utensils and cooking equipment. I could have also bought the blanket, the sheets and pillows and not used the provided ones at the beginning. Since the professional cleaning of the bed things and curtains took about a week, I still had to buy a blanket and and a pillow that went to the trash when I left the country, because they ordered me to clean them and retrieve them 2 weeks before I left and at a certain place, too. There were also some language issues with the manager who only spoke French which caused some misunderstandings. I think I had a hard time because she spoke fast. For example, she came for a check-in at the halfway point and I had no idea she was coming and I was at Alliance Française. They really should write and send more emails with this information, but when I was there they mainly communicated by speaking. I would say that renting cost the same amount as the hotel would have. The only reason that I'm still pretty happy with the place that I stayed in is that the location was amazing and so close to everything and sometimes there was also a manager's assistant that spoke English who also worked there who helped me with some things. I also like that it is on the the safer side of the river, the room was always cool enough and the condition of the room was pretty good. The managers are only there during business hours and not at all during the weekends. And the common room was always locked and nobody was ever there. But I would recommend this for people who do longer stays and I would recommend that you buy/bring a blanket and a pillow! I loved Rouen and I recommend the city to everyone!

I have a positive experience. It is close to the historic center, the bus station and train station. I had also a positive experience with the staff: responsive and helpful manager and assistants. Other people who work in the building (e.g. the cleaning personel) are also very kind.

The location is great , it’s near the city center and the bus station. You have the washing room in the building, the rooms are spacious. The manager is very helpful and understanding. I recommend it.
