I am a tenant at University Club Apartments in Gainesville. My gym access/key does not work. I have reported it to the local manager, upper management, American Campus Communities, but nobody has fixed it or given me a definite repair date. Also there is no backup plan to allow me exercise at the gym during off school hours. They keep saying the vendor back order the parts and they don't know when the door can be fixed. Instead of providing a reasonable backup plan so people can use it during off school hours. Gym is very important for my daily life and I am so frustrated living in this property and the way they treat residents.

DO NOT LIVE HERE!!! Most recently they tried to charge me $50 for a missing decal a month after I moved out. After bringing it to their attention they realized they were wrong, however never would’ve done anything about it had I not caught it. Additionally, our AC has broken multiple times, being in the 80s the most recent time, the highest being 86 degrees. Then maintenance comes in and yells at my roommate saying 86 is normal because it’s hot outside. If our AC, something that’s supposed to maintain an internal temperature yet is rising 13+ above what it’s set at, is in the 80s during peak Florida summertime that’s extremely dangerous, meanwhile they also charged us $125 each for utilities the final month. (When I brought this incident up to management the first question I was asked was “was he yelling or just loud talking” which should give you an idea of how seriously they view basic respect). The AC in one bedroom hasn’t been working for months and there was standing water in the pan when we first moved in, so this isn’t a one time occurrence. If wifi goes out, they’ll delay it 3 times before fixing it. One of our roommates was able to give her key to a stranger multiple times, breaking her lease, and all she got was a warning. They don’t lift parking for move out. Maintenance has come in/caused a disturbance with no notice before, one time banging on my window with a broom while I was mid graduate school interview and gone into my roommate’s room without notifying her first. This barely scratches the surface of what we’ve had to deal with, the list goes on and on. Please believe the other one star reviews, the complaints of extra/incorrect fees they charge are VERY accurate. Many of the 5 stars being from people only touring should tell you they need to boost their ratings somehow and it’s by urging people who spend 10 minutes there on a tour to give them a good review. Please listen to those who’ve had multiple issues with them rather than those with ONE good experience.

I lived here for 2 years (2021-2022) in a 4-4 apartment. The maintenance was extremely responsive - all my issues were solved within a few hours of the request. The front office guys were really friendly. However, the utility was always higher than the allowance because of the vaulted ceiling, which was costly, especially in summer when I was the only resident as the undergrads would leave. So, pairing grad students as roommates could be a better approach. Overall, I liked living there because of the convenient location and service.

I am a current resident here at University Club Apartments and I got a flat tire 15 minutes away from Uclub and didn’t know who to call so I turned to Alex, the manager, and Jon, one of the maintenance workers. After explaining the situation to Alex, he just asked me if I was okay and that he would be there in 15 mins. Jon and Alex arrived at the scene and changed my tire for me. This is not at all in their job description but they went above and beyond for me simply because they care. I know they would do that for anyone at this property. The uclub staff is incredibly caring and helpful, and I’m so grateful I decided to make this community my home. If you’re looking for a community that will go the extra mile for you then this is the place to be.

I’ve lived here for almost 2 years in my upstairs unit and I’ve had zero to complain about. The maintenance and front office staff are all extremely responsive, never any bug problems and the dryers actually dry your damn clothes instead of imploding if you put so much as a towel in them. Alex the office unc is the GOAT. One of the few that can achieve the oxymoron “prioritize everyone” he won’t let you down whatever the situation🔥
