University Village Apartments - Fort Myers, fort-myers-fl

I’ve lived here for 2 years now, and I’m actually staying for a third year. I love UV, it’s comfortable, welcoming, feels like as much as home can be even though I’m thousands of miles away from my home. I love the convenience of being close to campus allowing me to walk to campus and be in class in less than 20 mins (walking) since I do not own a car. Very convenient location if you want to still feel like you are on campus but have that sense of home to go home to. Property staff is AMAZING, KIND, UNDERSTANDING and they simply hear you, they don’t ever make you feel unwelcome what so ever. UV has allowed me to regain my peace and learn how to navigate living on my own in a peaceful environment, offering so many amenities like a resort style pool that is always maintained and a club house filled with additional amenities like game room, gym, study lounges including mini study rooms for additional privacy. Though I understand cost comes into play with all of this but once you can afford living here I promise you, you will never regret your time here no matter how short or long it is.

I had a terrible experience with Residence at University Village due to a serious security failure that management has completely ignored. My former roommate was able to enter my apartment because the property failed to deactivate her key after she was no longer supposed to have access. This was not an unavoidable situation—it was the direct result of management's failure to properly secure the unit. As a result, my former roommate was able to gain entry to my apartment when she should not have been able to. What is even more frustrating is how management handled the situation afterward. Despite bringing this issue to their attention, I received little to no meaningful response, accountability, or concern for my safety. A property management team should take responsibility when their mistake creates a security risk for residents, but instead my concerns were largely ignored. Residents trust management to keep their homes secure. When that trust was broken, I expected the issue to be taken seriously and addressed appropriately. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. Based on how this situation was handled, I cannot recommend living here.

My daughter has been here for a year. She just re-signed her lease for next year. She loves it here so much. The staff has been great for her needs and maintenance needs. The grounds have been well kept.

My son just signed a lease for Fall 2026 and we received great customer service. The team on site answered all of our questions in person, over the phone and via email. Special call out to Kelton who made the process easy and ensured my son and his roommate got everything they needed taken care of just days before Christmas.

I love living here!! It’s such a fun time!! I love the fort Myers area and I think I might get another apartment in the area after I graduate from FGCU!!
