Awful place to live. The cleanliness of the buildings and the apartments is subpar. They will do anything to not give the security deposit back. There was ripped up carpet in my room when I moved into it and they charged me for it. They are rarely in the office and never respond to emails or phone calls. Maintenance is very hit or miss on if they actually show up The electric bills are absurd. They placed me in a room that had someone living in it and did not check before they gave me the keys, which shows that they wanted me to move into a room that was never cleaned either. The 11 five star reviews posted at the same time (7 months ago) is very telling. Do not live here. Moving out was the best decision I ever made.

Apartment was fine but you might as well trash the place before you go because they will still charge you for cleaning the apartment after the lease ends no matter how much you clean it. I was charged $70 by them because they claimed to have needed to clean the carpets of my apartment. The picture is how it looked after I cleaned them and moved out. Does that look like a dirty carpet worth $70 in damages to you? I tried to contact them about this but they went radio silent when the bill was posted so I had to pay it before late charges were made. They also charge an additional $100 a month if you don't sign a full year lease, which students might not know or want to do if they only have 1 semester left. Basically all I'm saying is try to go literally anywhere else before you go here, this should be your last option for housing if you need it. It's only real benefit is being cheaper than Behrend housing and being located next to the college. But they will definitely nickel and dime you here.

Living at UGates has been a wonderful experience from day one. The management team is professional, friendly, and always quick to respond to any requests or concerns. The apartments are well-maintained with spacious layouts and quality finishes. Community amenities like the pool tables, ping pong, gym, and resident events create a welcoming environment that truly feels like home. The location is convenient yet peaceful, making this one of the best places I’ve ever lived.

Living at University Gate has been a great experience! The location is close to campus, has Tatsy Bites, and everything you need as a student. The apartments spacious, and well-maintained, with modern amenities that make day-to-day living super comfortable.The community is quiet and respectful, and parking has never been an issue.

U Gates is a good apartment complex for any student at Behrend as it is conveniently located right across the street and makes a short walk to class. They also have good food at their new gab and go style food option (Tastey Bites). Overall have had a good experience.
