University Downtown, durham-nh

Me and my friends loved it here! The apartments at 9 madbury were very updated and well-kept, which is harder to find in durham along with the affordable rent. We especially loved the rooftop deck, and found the snack bar super convenient when hungry and running late to class! Liz does an impressive job at leaving no questions unanswered, and no detail overlooked. She has great communication with her tenants, and we found her to be a very reasonable landlord. Though I just graduated, I got my boyfriend and sister to sign with UD for next year, and I know they’re going to love their time here!

Liz is the best property manager ever! She’s so generous and genuinely cares about her tenants! She has been so helpful towards me and my roommates during the moving in and moving out processes, as was she the entire year we lived here! Thank you Liz!

My daughter lived at University Downtown 9 Madbury Road, Durham NH for her senior year at Univ. of New Hampshire. This was for the school year 2025-2026. Her experience there was phenomenal due to the general manager Liz Shephard! Service like hers is almost unheard of these days! Liz sends out monthly emails to remind us that rent is due. She also sends out extra emails about how to prep your apartment for Spring Break, and how to move in and out. She coordinates purchase (and on-prem storage!) of furniture for students from one year to the next. That way furniture is reused each year and students don't have to figure out how to get a big couch to NH! Liz has a big office and extra rooms on the ground floor. she provides free snacks and little de-stress toys for the students. She also has a "zen" room that is dark and has a massage chair and colored lights for the ceiling. She also just installed a free-to-use Pac Man game in the laundry room! She just purchased beautiful lounge chairs for their roof-top patio. My daughter's stove had a short and smoke came out the back. They had a brand new stove installed 2 days later! I realize the students are too young to realize how wonderful this all is. Hopefully someday they will look back and appreciate how great it was!

I loved living at UD! I had a stellar experience spending time on the rooftop, in the zen lounge, in the gym, and even studying while having snacks always available!! Liz also goes out of her way to keep the place super clean and organized! There are even fun giveaways included on the Instagram to keep residents engaged.

UD made my senior year! I wish I’d lived there sooner! I loved coming home from classes to my apartment and I always felt safe coming home after a night out. I really felt cared for as a resident and loved the sense of community at 9 Madbury. The price is perfectly acceptable for all the amenities included. Love UDowntown!!!
