Overall experience, Uview was satisfactory. The gym equipment could use an upgrade. 2 out of 3 of the elevators didn't go to the 8th floor (my floor) for about half of the school year. I would have to carry groceries up a flight of stairs. The security doesn't do anything. They either are sleeping or talking loudly on the phone. The maintenance requests got fixed, but not quickly. It took sometimes 2-3 weeks for a request to be completed. On that note, our oven, microwave, and dishwasher broke during the school year from normal wear. Wanna open your oven? Better be careful to not pull the handle off! My toilet lid screws also had to be tightened by myself every week because they are cheap plastic. If they weren't tightened, the toilet seat would move around. If I wanted to sit on a carousel i'd, go to an amusement park. The Wi-fi would randomly go out almost every month, sometimes lasting for days before it was restored. The walls were paper thin. If you want to hear your neighbors doing the deed, then live here! Overall I'd give University view a 5/10. It got the job done, but wasn't something i'd pick again, hence while i'm renting somewhere else this year.

The finishes on the apartment were really the “landlord special”, there were paint splatters on our floors which made them always look dirty, one kitchen draw on the right side of the oven wasn't put in correctly and you can see the screws where it's holding the wood together, the oven sticks out by 6 inches and we can't push it flush to the walls, the TV lagged by 10 seconds even after putting in work orders (it went from lagging to 10seconds to 3secinds so ig that's better). And the wifi was HORRIBLE, we must have put in 2-3 work orders and called the wifi company 2 times bc you guys couldn't do anything about it. Whenever I'd connect my computer to do hw half the time it wouldn't connect or would kick me off after 5 minutes (the amount of times I've crashed out over this is crazy). And everytime we put a work order in or called the wifi company it would get better for maybe a day and then go back to being terrible. If im paying $95 for utilities I expect them to work. The only good part is that it was close to my engineering classes and looneys and the elevators worked most of the time. I got a really good price for $1000 but they wouldn’t let me keep that (the going rate for 4 bed 2 bath is $1250 + $95 utilities which is CRAZY). Go to tempo or the nine, way cheaper and better amenities.

Lived here for a year, the absolute worst decision I could’ve made. If you want your apartment to constantly smell like garbage no matter how hard you clean then by all means live here. Quite frankly the whole building always smells. The garbage collection system makes no sense so a lot of the time you’re walking into a room filled with garbage on the floor because that’s the only place to put recycling. Every other apartment complex has some sort of electronic system to utilize the elevators but at this one you must walk your guest from the lobby to your room. Also way too easy to lock yourself out of your apartment just for them to charge you unnecessary fees when you do. Also might I add it’s very convenient that at certain hours of the day and certain times in the year when majority of students are gone or away the water takes forever to heat up. Just another predatory apartment that takes advantage of students. If you’re going to spend a crazy amount of money on rent let it be a place that’s worth it. Otherwise front desk staff are pretty nice but only talk to them in person cause you’ll be arguing with an AI chatbot if you try and call.

Charged a $400 common space cleaning fee for a 4x4 apartment. I moved out days prior to my other roommates who decided to leave a some items in the common space (several items in the fridge and cabinets) after I had already vacated the property and removed all of my belongings. As per the lease agreement you are not permitted back into the apartment after signing the paperwork and turning in your keys, yet I am being held liable for these charges that I had no way of preventing? Of my 4x4 apartment, my 3 roommates also were charged $100-$200+ each for their induvial rooms requiring additional cleaning and I was the only person who was not. I informed the staff of this as well as video footage that I had taken upon my move out to displaying the condition that I left the apartment in was far cleaner then what they showed me. Clearly an unfair and unavoidable circumstance that must be corrected. Utility bills are also extremely inaccurate, nobody was present in the apartment in the month of January and the utility bill was more expensive then prior months. For a lease beginning in August you will pay for a full month of rent $1200~ only to be allowed to move in the last week of the month ($1200~ for 7 days). Not to mention the tricks they pull to have you mistakenly sign a lease on their website trapping you in a contract. AVOID THIS PLACE, PLENTY OF BETTER OPTIONS IN COLLEGE PARK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My first year here was pretty nice, Tower 2 is pretty good. My second year I switched into Tower 1 where I ended up paying more for older appliances and such. The leasing team is pretty aggressive in their pricing and won't do you many favors. Especially with the amenity and parking garage fees, you're better off living in Tempo.
