My son lived at The Mark while attending UT Austin this year, and it was a great choice. The location is fantastic — an easy walk (or quick ride) to campus, which made a huge difference for his schedule and let him get more involved on campus without worrying about a long commute or parking. It also put him close to shops and restaurants along the way, which was convenient for day-to-day errands and hanging out with friends. I also want to give a special shout-out to Saahirah, the Resident Services Manager, and Mia Grimes, the Associate Community Manager — both were incredibly helpful and responsive throughout the year. Their attentiveness made the whole experience smoother, both for my son and for me as a parent trying to keep tabs on things from afar. As a parent, knowing he was in a well-located, secure building near campus with a team like this looking after residents gave me real peace of mind. Overall a solid experience, and I'd recommend it to other families with students at UT.

My daughter really enjoyed her time living at The Mark Austin, and a big part of that comes down to the management team. They are attentive, responsive, and genuinely care about their residents. Like any apartment community, issues came up now and then, but what impressed me was how they were handled. Management communicated clearly, responded quickly, and always followed through until things were resolved. She never felt ignored or left wondering what was going on. That level of communication and care is rare, and it made living at The Mark a great experience for her. Highly recommend The Mark Austin!

This place is ridiculously expensive for what you get. The staff is incompetent and unhelpful when serious issues arise. During our lease, the apartment experienced an electrical explosion that left my roommates and me displaced for weeks. The situation ultimately forced us to terminate our lease months early. If you value your safety—or your family’s—I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. On top of everything else, trash and bug problems were an ongoing, daily issue. Overall, this was an incredibly stressful and disappointing experience, and I would not recommend living here.

I lived at The Mark for about three years, and after everything that happened during my time there, I felt it was important to share my experience. Over those three years, I experienced the fire-related relocation, a plumbing issue that caused sewage flood into my apartment, and most recently being asked to live without AC failure during extreme Austin heat. While unexpected incidents can happen at any property, what ultimately shapes a resident's experience is how those situations are handled. The fire-related incident, which has been reported as involving allegations of negligence despite previous complaints, was one of the most disruptive experiences I had as a resident. Following the fire, many residents, including me, were asked to move out after their leases were terminated. There was very little clarity about where residents would be staying, when hotel arrangements would be confirmed, or what the next steps would be. I also never received compensation for food lost when refrigeration became unavailable. It took weeks and multiple temporary apartments before I was able to secure a new place to live. More recently, my apartment lost air conditioning during extreme Austin heat. I immediately submitted an urgent maintenance request and followed up multiple times. A technician did not arrive for more than 20 hours and confirmed the issue was with the building's rooftop equipment. During that time, the temperature in my apartment exceeded 82°F overnight. I did not feel it was reasonable to remain there, so I paid for temporary lodging. Although the technician confirmed the issue originated from the building's equipment, my request for reimbursement of temporary lodging was declined. The on site management deemed it reasonable to stay without the air conditioning. I'm sharing this review simply as my personal experience so that prospective residents have another firsthand perspective when making their decision. Don't get swayed by location or utilities, the management is as bad as it can get and half the utilities aren't working regularly.

I would not recommend this place to any incoming UT students. The location is like one of those cheap Vegas hotels, luxurious on the outside, but trying to squeeze every last penny out of you along the way. It is simply not worth the exorbitant price they charge, which is even higher than what you think you will be paying for due to all of the hidden fees they try to slip in. The student workers at the front desk were very kind and doing their best, but they could not make up for disorganized management that was rarely present and extremely unhelpful during this buildings many problems including a fire, a wave of vehicle break-ins and frequent tech breakdowns. Management will likely respond to this review with some AI generated message but don't be fooled. Once you get in the building they will not show any care to their tenants.
