Spacious 2 Bedroom in Gaia, with a balcony with wonderful view to Porto, vila-nova-de-gaia

We really enjoyed our few days at 296 Heritage Apartments. Thanks Sofia for being so warm and welcoming and the daily breakfast delivered to our rooms in the morning, was really wonderful. A great location- truly a room with a view. Highly recommended. the room is spacious with a separate kitchenette and sofa. Would be great if you were coming for a longer stay and wanted to cook some meals at home. A quick walk to Porto across the bridge...

This place is absolutely insane—in the best possible way. The location, the room, the service… everything was just PERFECT. I honestly couldn’t have asked for more. Finding this hotel was one of the best pieces of luck I’ve had on this trip. There are actually quite a few Korean guests here, but I think I finally understand why no one leaves a review… 😂 Because we all secretly want to keep this place to ourselves. Haha. Seriously, I almost didn’t want to write this review because I want to keep it as my own little secret. But this place deserves all the praise.

We stayed in the river 1 bedroom apartment as a couple for 3 nights. The service at the desk, the delivered breakfast, and the views were outstanding—however the experience fell short in a few ways. - no paper towels. Only a small pile of napkins in a drawer. We had to use toilet paper. - the mattresses are in need of replacement. They were quite sunken in. - another table in the living room to use as a surface is needed. - only a very small bottle of 2-in-1 soap/shampoo was provided. Even after restock from the room cleaning it was not enough for our stay. A tiny bar is provided for hand soap, and is also not enough. - the sink was not draining properly and is need of clearing. - I had requested an upper level room when I booked 6 months ago but this was not accommodated. - our coffee machine was leaking water while in use. - the closet doors are extremely difficult to open with only a small peg to pull the door off the magnet. A larger handle is needed for these doors. - not enough electrical outlets by the bed. We had to unplug the lamp to use the outlet as a phone charger.

Nobody works here? While we were entering Porto our engine car broke. One child in the car, my elder mother... The perfect moment but in the middle of the chaos I tried to contact the apartments to tell them we're getting late... During 3 damn hours NOBODY ANSWERED THE PHONE?!?!?

The location is excellent, offering breathtaking views of the Douro river, the old town, and the beautiful Luis bridge at any time of the day. The room was peaceful and comfortable, making for a very relaxing stay. It is also close to many good restaurants and wine bars, with key attractions within walking distance. I truly enjoyed my stay and wished I could have stayed longer.
